For the week of June 1-7, there are quite a few intriguing matchups for fantasy baseball pitching streamers. I break down the matchups and find lowly-owned pitchers that fantasy baseball managers could use if they need to pick up a starter.
I feel crazy for having Cade Cavalli as one of my top options, but he has been great over his last couple of starts. Joining him are the other streaming targets I like for the upcoming week.

Fantasy Baseball Pitching Streamers for June 1-7
Pitching Streamers for Shallow Leagues (Over 20% Rostered)
Cade Cavalli (SP-WSH)
Next Start: Monday, 6/1, vs Marlins
Cade Cavalli is starting to earn himself a role as a must-start pitcher in fantasy baseball leagues. Across 59.2 innings this season, he has posted a 3-3 record with a 3.62 ERA and struck out 68 batters. He’s been a reliable fantasy contributor all season, despite a few hiccups here and there. He’s allowed two or fewer earned runs in nine of his 12 starts.
Cavalli struggled early in the season with walks and high pitch counts, making it into the sixth inning only twice in his first seven starts. He’s been better of late, pitching six or more innings in his last three outings, striking out at least seven, and keeping his pitch count down.
The Marlins will likely bat six left-handed batters against the Nationals. The .319 batting average against lefties is not ideal for Cavalli. However, he sports an 11.85 strikeouts per nine innings against left-handed bats, which is three strikeouts per nine innings higher than against right-handed bats (8.33 K/9).
His success against lefties is due to his knuckle curve, which he throws 30% of the time among his five-pitch arsenal, though he primarily throws it to lefties (70%). The pitch has a 49.3-inch vertical drop and breaks 8.3 inches into the left-handed batter’s box.
The movement on his breaking ball has resulted in a 43.1% whiff rate and a 31.4% putaway rate. This movement makes Cavalli a top streamer option, especially since he’s a viable two-start pitcher, with his second start in the week coming against the Diamondbacks on June 7.
Ben Brown (P-CHC)
Next start: vs Giants – Friday, 6/5
Ben Brown has been outstanding this season. He started the season coming out of the bullpen with 12 straight relief appearances, where he had a 2.10 ERA, a 24:8 strikeout-to-walk ratio, and held batters to a .198 batting average.
However, with Matthew Boyd and Edward Cabrera joining Cade Horton and Justin Steele on the injury list, the Cubs have needed Brown to return to the starting rotation. He’s started over the last two seasons, so he has experience starting games.
It’s hard to believe that Brown is performing better as a starter, given the impressive stats he posted out of the pen, but he has been extraordinary in his four starts this season. He’s posted a 1.98 ERA, a 23:6 strikeout-to-walk ratio, and batters are hitting .171.
The Giants aren’t a massive strikeout target, ranking 25th among MLB teams. However, they aren’t a good offensive team. They rank 30th in runs and 28th in OPS. Brown also does a great job of getting ground balls, ranking in the 90th percentile at 53.4%. This matchup is great for Brown and should be added in any league format.
Pitching Streamers for Deep Leagues (0%-25% Rostered)
David Sandlin (SP-CWS)
Next Start: Monday, 6/1, at Twins
David Sandlin made his MLB debut this week against the Minnesota Twins, and he gets them again on Monday. I normally don’t don’tto pick pitchers who face the same team so close together, but the rookie was phenomenal. He went six innings, struck out four, and the only hit he allowed was a leadoff home run off the bat of Byron Buxton in the first inning.
He showed great poise, bouncing back and keeping the Twins hitless the rest of his outing. Sandlin was doing so well that he only threw 61 pitches through his six innings. The White Sox No. 18 prospect has been a strikeout machine throughout his Minor League career, posting 82 strikeouts over 57.1 High- and Double-A innings in 2024, and 107 Ks over 106 Double- and Triple-A innings last season.
The Twins rank eighth in strikeouts this season, which will help Sandlin have another stellar outing now that he’s shaken off the nerves.
Grayson Rodriguez (SP-LAA)
Next start: Tuesday, 6/2, vs Rockies
Grayson Rodriguez last pitched in the big leagues in July 2024. He missed the 2025 season due to right lat strains and an elbow debridement surgery to remove bone spurs. This season, his start was delayed by right shoulder inflammation, but he made his long-awaited return to MLB on May 17.
It wasn’t the reunion that Rodriguez was expecting, as he gave up seven and four earned runs in his first two starts, respectively. However, in his third outing, he only allowed two hits over five innings, but one of those hits was a home run off the bat of the Detroit Tigers’ Wenceel Perez.
The Rockies are always an ideal target for pitchers, but the matchup is even more appealing because it’s not in Denver. Look for Rodriguez to keep pitching well if you can add him.
