That’s right folks, I’m back again with another two-part Spring Observations piece. Just like last year, I will start off with teams from the AAC, ACC, B1G, Big 12, CUSA, and Independents. I look into things said throughout the Spring and Spring Game results and give you my thoughts. I cover 49 teams in this first part so please give it a read and let me know what you think. Also, if you’re a homer for a specific team let me know things you’ve heard in small circles about big fantasy names.

AAC Spring Game Updates
Tulsa
The big story from Tulsa’s Spring Game is Baylor-Transfer Zach Smith. Smith looked promising in his initial season at Baylor behind Seth Russell but lost out in 2017 to Charlie Brewer. Smith had two 60-plus yard touchdown passes to Keylon Stokes while outplaying Seth Boomer who actually had an okay day (4-for-8, 133 yards). Tulsa’s passing game was abysmal in 2018 after years of great passing attacks. I for one am excited to see Smith take this offense and run with it and I’m about to pick up Stokes in several leagues.
Tulane
Last season was maddeningly inconsistent for fantasy ownership. Darnell Mooney and Terren Encalade were hit and miss from week to week and Justin McMillan didn’t really come on until the end of the season. This offseason, they added Keon Howard from Southern Miss and Jalen McCleskey from Oklahoma State. McCleskey and Mooney both caught touchdown passes and both will play a huge role in this offense in 2019. Keon Howard passed and ran for touchdowns and McMillan also passed for a score. There’s potential for fantasy-relevant quarterback given the AAC defenses are down but I’m more skeptical about their options.
Temple
I’ve already expressed that I wasn’t the firmest believer in Temple’s hire of Rod Carey. Carey’s first priority this Spring is replacing Ryquell Armstead who finished as a top-five rusher all-time at Temple. A name that was specifically mentioned was RS Freshman Kyle Dobbins and it was mentioned that he runs really hard. Dobbins is smaller than Armstead but was the only back mentioned by name by one of the team captains. Anthony Russo is a name mentioned in NFL circles and he left the Spring with a minor thumb injury. I’m not his biggest believer as a fantasy option but time will tell.
USF
Blake Barnett returns as the starter for the Bulls this season under a new offensive coordinator in Kerwin Bell. Wide Receiver Johnny Ford caught a touchdown pass in the Spring Game and could’ve had two had he not tripped up in the fourth quarter. The offensive line wasn’t great but they still have ample time to improve before the start of the season. Even if the line isn’t great, they still return Jordan Cronkrite who was an absolute stud of a running back last season.
ECU
Mike Houston was a hire welcomed by many given his success at James Madison. Houston inherits a great quarterback in Holton Ahlers who many have as a top-15 fantasy option going into this season and a capable running back in Hussein Howe. Ahlers enters and leaves Spring with the starting job so there’s’ no real need to discuss him any further. Howe has improved a lot over the offseason and took 15 carries for 71 yards in the Spring Game. My assumption as to who replaces Trevon Brown’s production is Blake Proehl. Proehl caught three balls for 69 yards and a score in the Spring Game. As an owner of Brown last season, I watched Proehl snag a few balls and liked the aggressiveness he plays with. Time will tell if he can live up to that or if Tyler Snead runs away with it.
SMU
It’s hard to make heads or tales from what we saw with the Mustangs this Spring because the presumed starter and Texas-transfer Shane Buechele hasn’t come on campus yet. The quarterbacks there struggled to hit targets downfield but that didn’t stop Reggie Roberson and Notre Dame-transfer CJ Sanders from shining. I’m very interested in Buechele and James Proche. Ke’Mon Freeman is also a name I’m also looking at this season.
Central Florida
McKenzie Milton’s return is expected in 2020 after his gruesome leg injury and that leaves the door open for Darriel Mack and Notre Dame-transfer Brandon Wimbush. Both had their moments where they looked like the guy and both had their moments where they struggled. This adds up to me because both are mobile guys with average arm talent. Neither did enough to outplay the other throughout the Spring so this battle will continue into the Fall. I expect Wimbush to grasp more of the playbook and win out in the end but for now, we are left in limbo.
Memphis
The Tigers lose a hug stud in Darrell Henderson but return a guy most CFF Guys are high on in Patrick Taylor Jr. Another name coming out of the backfield to know is Kenneth Gainwell. Gainwell studied under Tony Pollard and appears to have taken that slot/running back role that Pollard vacated with his draft declaration. Brady White has also appeared more confident in himself this Spring and looked more comfortable on the move. I’m not saying to go out and buy Brady but it’s nice to see he’s improved. Also, Antonio Gibson was White’s go-to receiver all Spring long.
ACC Spring Game Updates
Boston College
Boston College’s Spring Game was less about AJ Dillon and more about everybody behind him on the depth chart. David Bailey ran for 91 yards and a score and Javian Dayne went for 102 yards on 21 carries. Ben Glines and Travis Levy are also notable names that took over in Dillon’s absence last season. The Eagles ground game remains as the only fantasy relevant unit on this team, especially with their excellent offensive line.
North Carolina State
The Story for NC State’s offseason is undoubtedly the quarterback. This offense has produced Jacoby Brissett and Ryan Finley into the ranks of fantasy relevance and the next man up is presumed to be Matt McKay while Devin Leary and Bailey Hockman play behind him. McKay finished with 182 yards passing with 28 on the ground. The most notable development from State’s Spring is Zonovan “Bam” Knight. Knight got 139 yards on 17 carries with a huge touchdown run. Knight is likely the most notable fantasy prospect exiting the Spring and inched his way up my rankings.
Clemson
Clemson’s Spring Game wasn’t as entertaining this season as it was last season, speaking in terms of fantasy football. They bring back almost everybody on offense and the players they lost weren’t necessarily fantasy studs. Trevor Lawrence looked good and made an impossible pass to Joseph Ngata on the sideline, way upfield, on the run, and off his back foot. He did throw an awful pick after the White defensive unit sent the house after him. Frank Ladson flashed in the receiving game but it’s hard seeing him see too much time in his freshman year with Higgins and Ross in front of him. Also, don’t worry about drafting quarterback Taisun Phommachanh (Phu-Muh-Chahn) in dynasty leagues because he’s essentially Kelly Bryant 2.0 and Clemson has a strong chance of landing DJ Uiagalelei in this upcoming recruiting class.
Wake Forest
I’m just calling it now, Jamie Newman is the quarterback at Wake Forest. He completely outplayed Sam Hartman with two touchdown passes and 254 yards on 18 attempts. Dave Clawson came out and established Cade Darney and Christian Beal-Smith as the top two options at back. Beal-Smith has an excellent skill set and hopefully picks up where Matt Colburn left off.
Florida State
The Noles are already off to a better start than they were a year ago. The Spring Game played smoothly and had very little procedure penalties. James Blackman looked pretty darn good under Kendal Briles and the receivers made plays after the catch instead of going down immediately. Blackman should be on the radars of fantasy players given that Briles’ system is so friendly to quarterbacks. DJ Matthews had a great day at receiver but Tamorrion Terry is still the player I’m most interested in as a receiver.
Miami
Tate Martell transferred out of Ohio State and avoided the quarterback battle with Justin Fields. Now it appears that N’Kosi Perry and Jarren Williams have the upper hand after outplaying him in Miami’s Spring scrimmage. Williams led two touchdown drives and a field goal drive while looking like the most accurate passer of the three. Williams is who I expect to compete with Martell the most after Perry underperformed expectations all last season.
The running game is looking to take a hit, or several actually considering the offensive line looked especially rough. Although, running back Cam’Ron Harris looked especially good between the tackles and ripped off a 30-yard run. Buffalo-transfer, KJ Osborn caught the most balls with six but Freshman Jeremiah Peyton caught three balls for 60 yards and a score. I like their receiving corps, let’s see if we can get us a quarterback though.
Pitt
Has anyone seen Pitt’s running game? The leading rusher in the Spring Game was AJ Davis who went for six yards on nine carries. I know you can count it up to the O Line split between the two teams but Pitt’s defense is certainly not that good. Their running game was the whole offense last season, hopefully, for fantasy owners sake they find someone to pick up the slack. I mentioned in my coaching changes piece that Mark Whipple would assist in the passing game. Well, Kenny Pickett went 10-for-14 with 125 yards and two scores while the 6-foot-5 Davis Beville went 13-for-17 for 157 yards and a score. The passing game is better, but can something in this running game pan out?
Syracuse
Tommy DeVito came and left as the presumed starter for the Orange. The loss of Eric Dungey isn’t easy to fill but DeVito pushed Dungey all last season and will see the first snaps of 2019. A name to know from this game was Jawhar Jordan who took off every time they handed the ball off to him. He’s explosive and elusive and I firmly believe he should see the field in 2019. Receivers Anthony Queeley and Trishton Jackson made the most of their touches and Queeley specifically outmanned a corner for a touchdown catch. Syracuse returns a lot in the passing game so it’s hard to see either man really taking a feature role in the offense this year. Although, Jordan needs to get the ball out of the backfield. No other Syracuse back has really proven their worth, Jordan certainly has the potential.
Virginia Tech
The Hokies Spring Game really showcased Ryan Willis more than anyone else. Willis threw for multiple touchdowns and appears to be on the right track after a pretty solid debut season. The Kansas-transfer is the next quarterback in a line of successful quarterbacks under Justin Fuente and a large influx of receiving talent this offseason along with big additions on the offensive line only makes him better. Willis won’t be anyone’s QB1 but in deeper two-quarterback leagues he’s a nice pickup. Also, Damon Hazelton had a touchdown snag in the Spring and is a quiet name with the potential to boom in 2019.
North Carolina
The Tarheels are under new management with Mack Brown and Phil Longo running things offensively. The quarterback spot appears as a two-horse race between Jace Ruder and Freshman Sam Howell. Both were efficient and threw for 100+ yards. Howell scored but also threw an interception. Corey Bell Jr. moved from corner to wideout over the offseason and had a big day with six receptions and 57 yards. Javonte Williams also looks like the stud of the future for the Heels and put on 10+ pounds of pure muscle over the offseason. The coaches say he has an ability to take a play that should only go four yards and take it for 80 and Phil Longo has had great success in recent years with talented, athletic running backs.
Louisville
I’m certainly excited about the Scott Satterfield hire at Louisville and if there’s anyone that can make this team great again, it’s Scott. I’ve noticed a lot of positive comments about Jawon Pass and that he’s developed a lot under the new staff. Louisville didn’t have a Spring Game this year but it’s nice that Satterfield gave us what he did about Pass.
Big Ten Spring Game Updates
Purdue
Not much to gain from Purdue’s spring. Elijah Sindelar, who is the presumed starter for 2019, did not participate due to an injury he sustained a season ago. The enigmatic Rondale Moore played only in the second quarter and had an obnoxious autograph line. It was mostly younger guys taking the snaps. Tight Ends were featured heavily in the game plan which works out well for Brycen Hopkins who was heavily owned a season ago. Jared Sparks made out with a good performance in the Spring and looks to be the guy opposite Moore this season.
Minnesota
Zack Annexstad had a strong Spring and appears to be back in business despite Tanner Morgan’s strong finish in 2019. He threw for 191 yards while going 9-for-15 while Morgan went 11-for-17 for 139 yards with two scores. Morgan did, however, throw a God awful pick. Annexstad also hit Rashod Bateman downfield plenty of times in their Spring game. Batman and Tyler Johnson might be the top receiving duo in the Big Ten and both will see plenty of targets against a far easier schedule than last season. There weren’t a ton of available running backs for this one with Rodney Smith and Shannon Brooks still sidelined. One can only hope they avoid using a RBBC in 2019.
Ohio State
The most intriguing observation I made from Ohio State’s spring game concerns Justin Fields. Fields went 4-for-13 and still had 131 yards in the air. Fields missed on nine passes, completed four, and still averaged over 10 yards per attempt. He also took off for 38 yards on the ground. Things may not be quite on par for Fields just yet but he’s still one of my favorite players for the 2019 season. Freshman Garrett Wilson went over the top of a corner for an 18-yard touchdown and Master Teague ran for 75 yards on seven carries. Another early enrollee, Marcus Crowley ran for 50 yards on 10 carries and two scores.
Wisconsin
Jonathan Taylor is the only player worth drafting in non-dynasty leagues this season, no doubt about that. However, Graham Mertz is the player that many CFF owners have their eyes on. Many believe that he has the abilities to outplay a lot of Wisconsin’s quarterbacks of the past several seasons and give them a more diverse offense. Although Jack Coan has taken all of the First-Team reps, Mertz remains in the conversation for the top spot so long as he keeps developing as he has.
Illinois
I’m not going to say much about the Illinois offense for now. A lot of the players I’m anxious to see are still in high school and will join in zover the summer (Isaiah Williams, Marquez Beason, Kyron Cumby). MJ Rivers’ biggest contribution was a pick early in the game and made the unit look good. I guess we can enjoy that Lovie Smith finally had a Spring Game.
Michigan State
A silver lining for Michigan State’s Spring is that they return a fully healthy Brian Lewerke. Lewerke missed time last season and when he was on the field he was pulled repeatedly in favor of Rocky Lombardi. The returning signal caller went for 181 yards while going 14-for-21 with two scores and a pick. The one thing we really need from Michigan State is any resemblance of a ground game. LJ Scott was never the answer and they refused to run Connor Heyward. Heyward returns this season but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll use him. La’Darius Jefferson and Anthony Williams are both names to remember in the backfield but only time will tell if they’re worth remembering.
Nebraska
We didn’t learn much from Nebraska’s Spring. Adrian Martinez is the entrenched starter for the Huskers and JD Spielman is the main man through the air. In the backfield, Nebraska had two scholarship running backs play in the Spring Game and not one was named Dedrick Mills, Wandale Robinson, or Maurice Washington so it’s hard to know what’s to come out of that. Now we sit back and enjoy the Summer news and hopefully we get us a runner in this running back friendly system.
Penn State
We got a whole lot of nothing from the Penn State Spring game. Ricky Slade was named the number one running back for this year but Journey Brown and Noah Cain were also mentioned to receive carries. Sean Clifford is the clear favorite to start for Penn State after Tommy Stevens decided to enter the transfer portal. I’m not sold on Clifford being a fantasy stud just yet, especially with the Nittany Lions piss poor offensive line. Lastly, I’ve heard good things about Justin Shorter and the already good KJ Hamler was named the Most Improved Player for the Spring.
Rutgers
There are few teams in college football that are worse than the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. Art Sitkowski threw for four touchdowns and 18 interceptions a season ago with a sub-50% completion rating. Sitkowski looked very much improved going 22-for-30 passing with a touchdown and a score. Raheem Blackshear is still the focal point of the offense but was limited in the spring game. He still had 67 yards on eight carries. Bo Melton, much like last season, led the Knights receiving corps through the air with 40 yards on four receptions. Blackshear is the only Rutgers player I’d be willing to pick up any stock in as of right now.
Michigan
The addition of Josh Gattis is supposed to make the Blue more “dynamic” on offense in 2019. They did pick up the tempo a bit in the Spring Game and Shea Patterson looked the best of all the passers and could’ve had an additional touchdown pass to his stat line had his incredible pass over the middle been to Nico Collins or DPJ instead of Oliver Martin. Most of Michigan’s formations came in three-receiver sets with multiple tight ends in some of them. It’ll be interesting to see how things go, it really wouldn’t surprise me if Michigan struggles and the regresses back into the stone-age offense they’ve run over the past few seasons.
Northwestern
A few observations from the Northwestern Spring. They did not have a formal Spring Game and the quarterback competition between Clemson-transfer Hunter Johnson and TJ Green is expected to continue into the fall. Most expect Johnson to win out.
Big 12 Spring Game Updates
Texas Tech
March 31, 2019
The March 31st scrimmage did not feature McLane Mannix nor TJ Vasher so it’s hard to say anything about any feature receivers. KeSean Carter was the best of the receivers that participated. Jett Duffey overthrew a pass and Adonis Brown pick him off for six. Duffey needs to clean up the turnovers if he wants to beat out McLane Carter (if he ever gets healthy again) and Alan Bowman. Also, Matt Wells mentioned that Ta’Zhawn Henry had an excellent day. Utah State had multiple fantasy relevant backs in Darwin Thompson and Gerold Bright last season and Henry is in line for a decent workload if he continues to impress in the next few scrimmages. It’s also worth noting that Bowman took the first snaps of the game.
April 13, 2019
McLane Carter transferred out of Texas Tech leaving Alan Bowman and Jett Duffey duking it out for the top spot. Bowman took the first-team reps in both Spring Games and is my choice to win out, especially with Carter gone. Erik Ezukanma emerged as a possible fantasy sleeper after seeing so many targets. He’s aggressive on the ball and he has a very long frame. An Injury to TJ Vasher opened the door for Ezukanma who made the very most out of his opportunity.
TCU
TCU canceled their Spring Game due to the large amounts of injuries. Players like Alex Delton, Mike Collins, and Jalen Reagor were all sidelined in the publicly open practice they held at the end of Spring. Injuries derailed the Horned Frogs season last year and hopefully, they can get some guys healthy over the summer.
Baylor
The Bears had a lot of success out of their young talent but not in the places we really needed it. Jacob Zeno had a big game with a long touchdown run and Gerry Bohanon hit Christoph Henle for a long score. The issue still lies in their playmakers. Jalen Hurd and Chris Platt are gone and the only familiar face left is Denzel Mims. None of the non-quarterback players really stood out to me which is really concerning for fantasy owners. I guess time will tell if the Bears will feature another player as heavily as they did Hurd last season.
West Virginia
The biggest storyline in the Spring for West Virginia and new coach Neal Brown is the quarterback spot. Austin Kendall is the presumed starter after transferring over from Oklahoma but neither he or Jack Allison really did anything to set themselves apart. As far as receiver goes, Sam James caught four passes for over 80 yards and has great athleticism. James is Kendall’s favorite target and has the right stuff to make a fantasy stud this season. TJ Simmons also caught a touchdown pass while Marcus Simms is on the verge of a breakout season. Leddie Brown was the most consistent back in a room full of talent. Neal Brown used running backs often while coaching at Troy and the winner of this job needs to be owned heavily in all leagues.
Kansas State
Guys, I’m really trying not to get excited about Skylar Thompson again but Coach Klieman is making it difficult. Klieman has had glowing reviews for the Junior passer and has already announced him as the starting quarterback for the 2019 season. Dalton Schoen and Isaiah Zuber are the two proven commodities at receiver but Michigan State-transfer Hunter Rison has drawn attention from the coaching staff as well. James Gilbert from Ball State is the man I’m expecting to replace Alex Barnes given his proven success at the G5 level but he still has to beat out Harry Trotter and Tyler Burns in the Fall.
Oklahoma
The big story out of Norman, Oklahoma was Jalen Hurts. Hurts appears to have confirmed that he is the starter for OU in 2019. He went 11-for-14 with 174 yards and a score with some solid production on the ground as well. Tanner Mordecai is also in the running alongside incoming five-star quarterback Spencer Rattler who is expected to have a huge arm on him. A lot of their younger receivers, especially Trejan Bridges, made huge plays for the Sooners down the field. Jadon Haselwood looked imposing but had problems getting around Tre Brown for a lot of the day.
Texas
I’ll be more interested in Texas in the Fall than I am now. Sam Ehlinger is the clear number one at quarterback and Keontay Ingram has the right stuff if he can stay healthy. As far as receivers go, Collin Johnson and Devin Duvernay were limited due to injury and none of the talented receivers in Bru McCoy, Jake Smith, or Jordan Whittingham got their shot in the Spring. Let’s check back on this one later.
Kansas
So, Kansas isn’t exactly the place people look for fantasy studs but they do have a guy or two every season that piques some interest. Les Miles is over the Jayhawks now and he must look more like Oklahoma State Les rather than LSU Les if he expects to succeed. In the first Spring under Miles, JUCO-transfer Thomas MacVittie looked pretty solid through the air and surprised many with his abilities on the ground. Ezra Naylor is another guy who Miles brought in who will play right away. His 6-foot-4 stature is a matchup issue for the lackluster corners of the Big 12. I don’t expect any dominance out of either of these players but maybe one can really be something this season.
C-USA Spring Game Updates
North Texas
Not much to add to what we already know. We got some solid play from backup quarterback Jason Bean and Michael Lawrence. While Bean won’t play much this season, Michael Lawrence is in for a big year playing opposite Rico Bussey Jr.. Also, walk-on Deven Langston gave coaches a reason to look his way this season with some big plays of his own. We now have to wait and see if Langston is a stud or a dud during the season.
UAB
The reigning CUSA champions and owner of the fifth-longest active home winning streak in football hit the field for their Spring Game in early April. Tyler Johnston III hit two touchdown passes early on in the game and looks to be vastly improved from last season. His favorite target appears to be Austin Watkins (3 rec, 109 yards, 1 TD) who looks in line to replace Xavier Ubosi as the lead target for 2019. I should also mention that Gerrit Prince (TE) was targeted off and on during the game and looks to be an active member of the passing offense going into 2019.
Louisiana Tech
The largest development from Louisiana Tech’s Spring was the open quarterback competition. There is a step that we all believe J’Mar Smith has needed to take for years now and it doesn’t appear that he’s going to take it. Redshirt Freshman Aaron Allen is a name that was thrown out there as a guy with some potential and another name in the mix is Westin Elliot. Smith threw for 78% this Spring which is excellent but for how long will that last. It’s put up or shut up time for Smith as a fantasy player.
Florida Atlantic
On brighter notes, tight end Harrison Bryant and wide receiver John Mitchell both caught two touchdowns respectively. Bryant had some injuries last year and appears to be a focal point in the offense again going into 2019. The problem with FAU is their lack of a quarterback. Chris Robison is no longer with the team leaving Justin Agner and Nick Tronti battling it out for the top spot. James Charles also looked the best at running back and showed off his speed on chunk plays all throughout the game. They also had a player ejected from a Spring Game… Wild.
Old Dominion
ODU beat Virginia Tech last season. The big story for the Monarchs this offseason is replacing Blake LaRussa who has foregone his senior season to go to Seminary. The prospects consist of two JUCO guys in Messiah DeWeaver and Stone Smartt and a redshirt freshman by the name of Jonah Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald gave me the best feeling leaving Spring with 180 yards passing and a long score on the ground. Smartt also had strong numbers and DeWeaver didn’t score. They also add Virginia Tech-transfer Eric Kumah to fill the void left by Travis Fulgham and Jonathan Duhart. Also, Old Dominion beat Virginia Tech last year.
Western Kentucky
Western Kentucky opens up Spring with new signal callers and a new coach. In their Spring Game, they had six quarterbacks throw for a combined 600+ yards and no shortage of touchdowns. Steven Duncan returns as the incumbent starter. Although he picked up the slack after Drew Eckels went down in 2018, he didn’t show out enough to really claim this job. In the Spring Game, he played well and even hit Jakairi Moses for a 16-yard score. Davis Shanley had the best performance with 215 yards and two scores. Arkansas-transfer Ty Storey didn’t have the greatest of days with two picks in his debut. Is the fantasy farm school of Western Kentucky back?
UNC-Charlotte
The 49ers enter in the season with new coach Will Healy who made Austin Peay football relevant in his tenure there. Healy allowed Chris Reynolds to take the start and he responded with 152 yards passing and three touchdowns. Miami-transfer Evan Shirreffs didn’t play due to a concussion but the real competition doesn’t start until USF-transfer Brett Kean arrives. Stud-Running Back Benny LeMay is held out of the game to avoid injury and remains a big fantasy name to know.
Independents
New Mexico State
Not much to pick up from the NMSU practice. Josh Adkins and Jason Huntley both did not participate. Matt Romero had a great day but not great enough to supplant Adkins from the starting job. Andre Bodison caught a pass in stride and hit a dirty stop juke on Senior DB Ron LaForce before capping off a 70+ yard touchdown reception. I’m not sure if this means anything for his role in an offense that was miserable last season but there have been productive players out of NMSU in recent history.
BYU
Jaren Hall is a nice, under the radar dynasty stash behind Zach Wilson after he led four touchdown drives in the Cougar Spring Game. He sacrificed baseball to play in the Spring game and pretty well cemented his role as the guy behind Wilson with 203 passing yards and 59 yards on the ground. The largest development from BYU’s Spring is the emergence of Gunner Romney. Romney killed it in High School and looks to be the featured receiving target for the Cougs after he went for 100+ yards and a score. He seems to have that playmaking ability that the Cougars just haven’t had since Mitch Matthews in 2014.
Liberty
Liberty changed up their Spring Game in Hugh Freeze’s inaugural season after last years strangle rules weren’t quite his speed. Antonio Gandy-Golden was absent from this game but returning quarterback Stephen Calvert was very much present. Calvert was efficient and gave no reason to doubt his starting status. Johnathan Bennett proved that the future was bright with a 59-yard touchdown pass to Shedro Louis and Chandler Armstrong made a name for himself as the feature back for 2019 with a 59-yard touchdown rush. Joshua Mack took 11 carries for 63 yards while late break put Frank Boyd over the century mark. Kevin Shaa caught six balls for 143 yards, Louis caught five balls for 134 yards, and Damien King led the receivers with seven receptions with only 54 yards.

Ian Book exits Spring with the quarterback job still intact. Phil Jurkovec had moments but was constantly under duress. Kelly mentioned that the Sophomore isn’t quite ready to go just yet. Jafar Armstrong appears to be the top dog after topping 80 yards on the ground and 70 through the air. Also, for you dynasty guys out there, Jahmir Smith looked like a monster in the backfield and could hop Tony Jones Jr. on the depth chart if he keeps it up.
