MLB Injury Report
Ronald Acuna Jr. – OF Atlanta Braves
Grade 1 strain for Ronald Acuña’s left hamstring, says Walt Weiss
— Chad Bishop (@MrChadBishop) May 3, 2026
Acuna injured himself after a base hit on Saturday while running the bases. He came up limping almost right away and exited the game after that. The diagnosis of a Grade 1 hamstring strain is relatively good news, as anything more severe could have meant additional time away. It’s unclear what timeline there is here, but chances are that he will miss more than the ten-day minimum. That said, it also likely won’t be as extensive as it once looked the minute her injured himself.
Cal Raleigh – C Seattle Mariners
Cal Raleigh’s issue is soreness in his side, Dan Wilson just said.
It’s a day-to-day situation, but sounds like he’s going to go through a few drills here pregame to see where he’s at.
— Daniel Kramer (@DKramer_) May 3, 2026
It’s rare to see a Mariners lineup without Cal Raleigh, and seeing him scratched from Saturday’s lineup was eye-opening. We learned yesterday that he had side soreness, and it’s hard to know right now if that’s because of his oblique. Even without a strain, it could take some time for him to be 100% healthy, so a small trip to the Injured List might still be in the works here. Stay tuned.
Jackson Chourio – OF Milwaukee Brewers
X-rays were negative on Jackson Chourio’s foot/ankle last night.
Need to see how he feels/progresses today before knowing whether he will be reinstated from the IL in STL.

It was a scary situation over the weekend, as Chourio fouled a ball off of his foot while playing in a rehab game. There was some belief that he could have had some sort of fracture or breakage there, but X-rays showed otherwise. Interesting sidenote here that he could be back from the Injured List early this week… or at least that was the intention before the injury.
Andrew Vaughn – 1B Milwaukee Brewers
Andrew Vaughn remains on track to rejoin the Brewers tomorrow.

Be prepared!
Ben Rice – 1B New York Yankees
Ben Rice exited today's game with a left hand contusion that he sustained on the pickoff attempt while playing first base in the third inning. X-rays taken were negative. He's day-to-day.
— New York Yankees (@Yankees) May 3, 2026
Rice had himself a great game, as he had just hit a home run. He then injured himself on a pickoff attempt, but the good news is that X-rays came back negative, and he is only DTD with a bruise. Fantasy managers can breathe a collective sigh of relief. Look for updates before lineups lock, but chances are that this week would have been like any other for him.
Joe Ryan – SP Minnesota Twins
Joe Ryan left today's game with right elbow soreness, Twins announce.
— Betsy Helfand (@betsyhelfand) May 3, 2026
Ryan’s velocity has been down all season, and it feels like yesterday’s outing was his elbow finally reaching its boiling point. It was mentioned on the broadcast that Ryan also said that he felt something in his elbow. It’s unclear what exactly that means, but all of these signs point to a very ominous ending to the story here. There should be updates throughout the next day or two.
Ranger Suarez – SP Boston Red Sox
Ranger Suarez update: He exited with right hamstring rightness, the Red Sox say.
— Tim Healey (@timbhealey) May 3, 2026
Suarez was having a successful outing before being pulled after just 70 pitches. The diagnosis here could have been a lot worse for him and the Red Sox, but it’s also unclear if he will make his next start for Boston. Chances are that he will not make his way to the Injured List, as the team issued a statement saying that there is no plan for an MRI at this time. In addition to that, he dealt with this issue last season, so it feels like something that he could manage. For now, consider him day-to-day with the expectation that he will, in fact, pitch later in the week.
Gleyber Torres – 2B Detroit Tigers
Gleyber Torres was doing well today. All the tests were negative. No IL. Tigers get good news on an injury for once
— Chris McCosky (@cmccosky) May 3, 2026
Torres left Saturday’s game early with side soreness. He sat out yesterday’s contest, and there was some additional worry that he would need extensive time away with a trip to the Injured List. Instead, it looks like he’ll be ready soon enough, as all tests came back clean, and as soon as he feels better, he will make his way back into the lineup. Feel free to start him this week.
Mookie Betts – SS Los Angeles Dodgers

Despite suffering a setback recently, it looks as if Betts will be starting a rehab assignment as soon as his bat speed gets back to where it used to be. Given that he had said setback, the rehab assignment will likely be longer than it would have been had he not. That’s a long-winded way of saying that he should be back before the end of the month, but realistically, it could be in two weeks.
Yusei Kikuchi – SP Los Angeles Angels
Yusei Kikuchi’s MRI exam is still being examined and being discussed by doctors, GM Perry Minasian said. He’s on the IL but still no update on how long he’ll be out.
— Rhett Bollinger (@RhettBollinger) May 3, 2026
This is concerning. Kikuchi has been getting examined for days now, and the Angels have been trying to decipher exactly what to do. To me, that means that they know it’s a serious injury, and the next steps aren’t yet known, as it could be a season-ending injury. Either way, get him out of your lineups and do what the Angels will be doing: go with the next man up.
