MLB Injury Report
Ronald Acuna Jr. – OF Atlanta Braves

This is bad, and it could be worse than expected. Ronald Acuna Jr. is trending toward a trip to the Injured List with an injured Achilles tendon, after hurting his lower leg on Monday while tracking down balls in the outfield. He himself made it seem like it was nothing significant and lobbied to play last night. However, he was saying in an interviuew that he knew the injury was a big one, but he didn’t want to miss even more time than he has already this season. He will get some imaging and tests done today to determine the severity of the situation, but it’s safe to say that he will head to the Injured List. This is a major blow to fantasy players who had waited all season for his eventual debut due to his recovery from his knee.
Eugenio Suarez – 3B Arizona Diamondbacks
Some good news: @Dbacks 3B Eugenio Suarez said he had a CT scan and MRI today and both were negative. No breaks.
— Steve Gilbert (@SteveGilbertMLB) July 29, 2025
This was great news for the Diamondbacks, as it appears that Suarez’s injury won’t require a trip to the Injured List. This is important for two reasons, with the first being that fantasy players will likely get to utilize him in their lineups throughout the week. In addition to this, Arizona will seemingly be able to trade him before Thursday’s deadline.
Aaron Judge – OF New York Yankees
Aaron Boone tells us that Aaron Judge will start hitting off a tee today or tomorrow, but will need 10-15 days to start throwing pic.twitter.com/bFmjtIYtA2
— Talkin' Yanks (@TalkinYanks) July 29, 2025
Both the Yankees and Judge have adamantly said that he can still hit, which would make him the team’s designated hitter. With Giancarlo Stanton likely getting outfield reps, it seems plausible that they may look for help via trade. Manager Aaron Boone also added that they expect Judge back on August 5.
Luis Gil – SP New York Yankees
Aaron Boone tells us that Luis Gil is expected to throw 75 pitches in his rehab start tonight, and if all goes well, he'd be lined up to start Sunday in Miami pic.twitter.com/M8onZwlAGd

Be prepared!
Ian Happ – OF Chicago Cubs
Looks like the Happ injury might require an IL stint. The team is calling up Moises Ballesteros from Triple-A, per a source. He’s hitting .331 down there. He had a cup of coffee with the big league team earlier this year. https://t.co/e9RhWWaQUn
— Jesse Rogers (@JesseRogersESPN) July 30, 2025
The good news from last night was that Happ, who fouled a ball off of his shin, receieved X-rays that came back negative. This indicated that there was likely no breakage at all. The bad news is that he will still likely require time on the Injured List to help the swelling heal. He has struggled in 2025, so perhaps time off will help him get right.
Hyeseong Kim – INF Los Angeles Dodgers
Hyeseong Kim is going back to LA to get an injection, and will be down for a few days after that, Dave Roberts said
But the hope is that his absence is “shorter-term” https://t.co/ZmvPdQePqz
— Jack Harris (@ByJackHarris) July 29, 2025
Judging by the fact that the Dodgers have started the clock on Alex Freekan and that Kim will need an injection, an absence longer than ten days seems to be the likeliest of scenarios here.
Tanner Scott – RP Los Angeles Dodgers
Tanner Scott has started a throwing progression, Dave Roberts said.
— Fabian Ardaya (@FabianArdaya) July 29, 2025
This is good news, considering how the Dodgers are still searching for bullpen options. He has a long way to go before regaining the reins as the team’s closer, but he’s at least in a position to ramp himself up toward pitching again. It remains to be seen when he will throw his first bullpen.
Roki Sasaki – SP Los Angeles Dodgers

The plan is great, but Saski hasn’t yet progressed past the ability to throw bullpens, let alone face live batters. His return has been so slow and calculated, it’s fari to question how much he will actually contribute to fantasy teams in 2025.
Jackson Chourio – OF Milwaukee Brewers
Jackson Chourio felt a tickle in his hamstring. More tests are needed to determine whether it’s something concerning. pic.twitter.com/TMI9dw5Ppu
— Adam McCalvy (@AdamMcCalvy) July 30, 2025
We should know more about the severity of the situation here once these tests come through and are conclusive either way. Regardless of the outcome, it appears that he has avoided something significant.
Juan Soto – OF New York Mets
X-rays on Juan Soto's foot were negative. He's day to day. The Mets are confident nothing is broken.
— Anthony DiComo (@AnthonyDiComo) July 30, 2025
Soto fouled a ball off of his foot last night, but the impending X-rays revelaed that nothing was broken. His eventual return to the lineup will be based on his tolerance for pain and how quickly he can heal. Good long-term news here.
Grayson Rodriguez – SP Baltimore Orioles
Part of the holdup in information on Grayson Rodriguez is because he’s receiving multiple opinions, Tony Mansolino said. The Orioles are trying to be thorough, he said
— Andy Kostka (@afkostka) July 29, 2025
Definitely not a good sign that Rodriguez needs more than one opinion on what’s next for him and his arm. He’s had so many injuries and setbacks over the past two seasons that this feels like it’s delaying the inevitable here, which is season-ending surgery. The longer that this takes, the more into next season his recovery will wind up.
Michael King – SP San Diego Padres
Mike Shildt says Michael King felt good after his first sim game and will likely head to rehab assignment in El Paso on Sat or Sun
— Marty Caswell (@MartyCaswell) July 29, 2025
King has been trending in the right direction for quite a while now, and this is nothing short of that. He will hopefully provide the Padres with some stability in the rotation for the final month of the season while they push toward making the playoffs.
Byron Buxton – OF Minnesota Twins

— Minnesota Twins (@Twins) July 29, 2025
Hopefully this is a minimum stay on the Injured List for Buxton, and he can return by next weekend and continue along his MVP-caliber ways. However, with it being ribcage inflattaion, it feels like this is one of those injuriues that are player dependent. It’s all about pain tolerance and if he starts to swing too soon, it could re-engage the pain and actually make things worse. There’s no rush to being him back, esepcially if the Twins are sellers at the deadline.
Carlos Correa – SS Minnesota Twins
Rocco Baldelli just confirmed with me on the broadcast that Carlos Correa left the game with some lightheadedness so Brooks Lee is coming in. https://t.co/SOh8YpSYy5
— Audra Martin (@Audra_Martin) July 30, 2025
Let’s hope that this is a minor incident without any reprecussions of a possible condition. For now, let’s assume that he was either under the weather or feeling the effects of a long season and playing in the heat. Stay tuned.
