MLB Injury Report
Bryan Woo – SP Seattle Mariners
Bryan Woo will not start in his scheduled rotation spot on Thursday, Justin Hollander said, adding that the Mariners still have “zero plans” to place him on the IL.
The tentative plan is for Woo to play catch either tomorrow or Thursday.
— Daniel Kramer (@DKramer_) September 23, 2025
This was always the concern with Woo after having an injury scare during his last outing in Houston. The belief was that he would be fine come his outing this week, but now he won’t make his next scheduled start, and he may have to wait until the weekend to get back on the mound. With the Mariners likely playing a home postseason (or Wild Card) game next week, the Mariners may choose to use him in those games and subsequently not have Woo pitch again this season. Fantasy players would be wise to find an alternative.
Texas Rangers – Team Update
Manager Bruce Bochy says that Corey Seager and Marcus Semien will not play again this season. #Rangers
— Jeff Wilson (@JeffWilsonTXR) September 23, 2025
This eliminates any possibility of either returning this year, and fantasy players who haven’t yet done so can safely drop them both in redraft leagues.
Jeremy Pena – SS Houston Astros
Jeremy Peña took some swings pregame and still felt soreness in his left oblique, Joe Espada said.
— Chandler Rome (@Chandler_Rome) September 23, 2025
Pena remains day-to-day with an oblique injury that could cost him both the rest of the regular season and the beginning of the postseason as well. With the renewed soreness, there is a significant chance that he ends up on the Injured List. Stay tuned.
Fernando Tatis Jr. – OF San Diego Padres
Fernando Tatis Jr. is “still battling” with an illness, didn’t want to bring him in and grind through it. They’ll see about tomorrow.
— Darnay Tripp (@DarnayTripp) September 23, 2025
Tatis was tested on Monday for a variety of illnesses, including influenza and COVID-19, but there was no news regarding the results a day later. That is significant in the sense that should he be contracting either of those, he may miss significant time, depending on the severity of the situation. He will continue to be in a day-to-day situation, but the potential for more is there.
Jonathan Aranda – 1B Tampa Bay Rays
#Rays All-Star Jonathan Aranda (left wrist) will join the team in Baltimore tomorrow and go through a round of BP and ground balls to see how he responds. He’s played three backfield games in Port Charlotte. If all goes well, he could be activated as soon as Thursday.
“He's…
— Ryan Bass (@Ry_Bass) September 23, 2025
This is great news for anyone rostering Aranda, particularly in dynasty leagues, as it appears that he’s physically healthy. If he can return this weekend, that would lead to a generally normal offseason for him, as he and the Rays attempt to build upon this season’s breakout performance.
Bryce Harper – 1B Philadelphia Phillies
Bryce Harper is out of the lineup today due to illness, according to Rob Thomson.
— Lochlahn March (@lochlahn) September 23, 2025
Speaking of illnesses, Bryce Harper missed last night’s game with one. There was no word on what he was dealing with, but given that the Phillies have already clinched a spot in the playoffs, there is no need to rush him back anytime soon.
J.T. Realmuto – C Philadelphia Phillies
J.T. Realmuto was removed with a right index finger contusion, Phillies say. X-Rays were negative.
— Lochlahn March (@lochlahn) September 24, 2025
It’s fair to assume that Realmuto will miss minimal time here as the season winds down, as his health will be needed for the playoffs.
Dane Myers – OF Miami Marlins
#Marlins reporting that Dane Myers exited due to a right knee laceration.
— Christina De Nicola (@CDeNicola13) September 23, 2025
There wasn’t much more to say about this situation after the game, but anytime a player gets carted off the field, it’s a scary situation. Myers will likely finish the season on the Injured List or see minimal time the rest of the way.
Kyle Tucker – OF Chicago Cubs
“I feel a little better … Probably a few more boxes I gotta check before (being activated) … Trying to get back out there as soon as possible.”

— Marquee Sports Network (@WatchMarquee) September 23, 2025
This update feels more about the Cubs getting Tucker right for the playoffs than anything else. While he may return for a handful of games this weekend, fantasy players in redraft leagues would be wise to find an alternative, however tough that may be this deep into the season.
