As we enter the week before the All-Star break, it gives fantasy baseball managers an opportunity to prepare for a mid-season break. This week also provides a bit of a challenge for lineup decisions with starting pitchers. Several workhorse starting pitchers are granted a period of early rest, resulting in a missed start later in the week. The same goes for those pitchers slated to perform in the All-Star game, who may see limited pitch counts this week.
I take these potential early breaks and shortened starts into consideration in this week’s starting pitcher rankings. In points leagues, in particular, a missed start can be detrimental to a matchup outcome, so plan wisely for the week ahead.
