Week 20 showed why the EPL is the best top-to-bottom league in the world, and you never quite know what you’re going to get. Wolves got their first win of the season in a dominant 3-0 win over West Ham, meaning prior waiver wire suggestions Oliver Scarles and Callum Wilson scored poorly. West Ham looks to be in some trouble. Everton, who had been so good defensively, gave up four at home, and Tyler Dibling was subbed at the half. Lewis Dunk offered some redemption as he and Brighton secured a quality win and a clean sheet.
Games start Tuesday. So be ready.
Week 21 Fantasy Draft EPL Waiver Wire
Week 21 suggestions (rostered 50% or less) are listed in order from most to least rostered.
Vitaly Janelt – Midfielder – Rostered 13% – Brentford vs Sunderland
Janelt has made a positive impact on the Brentford lineup since his inclusion as a regular starter. In the last six games, all in which he started, Bees have four wins and two draws. They had lost their previous three, in which he only started one. He has three assists over the last six and is averaging over 10 Fantrax points per game. He’s an experienced midfielder who all managers should be looking at on the EPL waiver wire.
Dilane Bakwa – Forward – Rostered 5% – West Ham vs Nottingham Forest
Bakwa has started three games on the season for Forest, and he has earned decent points in each of those starts. He added his first assist in the 3-1 loss to a solid Aston Villa team. He also had two shots and a yellow card. Opponents West Ham just conceded three goals to last-place Wolves, so the Hammers may be reeling, and Forest will want to capitalize. He’s not sure to start, but it’s a good matchup, and he has shown some promise.
Pascal Gross – Midfielder – Rostered 3% – Manchester City vs Brighton
Experienced Fantrax managers will be excited about the potential of Gross’s return from his time at Dortmund. The Brighton midfielder has been a top EPL and Fantrax player for multiple seasons. In the 2023-2024 season, he had five goals and 10 assists, and the previous year, he had nine goals and eight assists. It feels hopeful to think he will produce at that rate immediately and throughout the season, but managers should be jumping to pick him up on the waiver wire. The upside here is too high to pass up, even as his next game isn’t a great matchup at Manchester City.
Valentin Castellanos – Forward – Rostered 0% – West Ham vs Nottingham Forest
Castellanos has been brought to West Ham to try to ignite a latent offense and team. With Niclas Fullkrug leaving and Callum Wilson being ineffective, the Lazio transfer should get a starting opportunity soon. Forest is also struggling, so something here has to give. For Fantrax managers needing help at the forward position, Castellanos is worth a look on the EPL waiver wire and the risk. There is nothing certain here, though.
Stay on top of lineups and team news. Keep your eyes on the EPL transfer window. Good luck. Have fun.
