We’re 82 days from Opening Day, and the 2026 Dynasty Baseball Prospects: Daily Write-Up series turns to a bat built to impact the middle of a lineup. Coming in at #104 is Owen Caissie, a corner outfielder whose combination of power, patience, and physicality gives him everyday upside. Caissie’s raw strength shows up consistently in game action, and his willingness to work counts helps the power play even when the batting average fluctuates. As the list tightens, he profiles as a high-impact offensive piece with a clear fantasy path heading into 2026.

Daily Baseball Write-Up Series #104 Owen Caissie
The Cubs have played the slow-and-steady game with Owen Caissie, but there’s nothing slow about the way he’s swung it in Iowa. At 22 and younger than most of his competition, Caissie’s production and approach have both taken a step forward, and it now feels less like “if” and more like “when” he forces his way into Chicago’s lineup.
Caissie’s calling card is big, left-handed thunder, and the power is playing across the board. Through 433 Triple-A plate appearances he’s posted a .286/.386/.551 line with 28 doubles and 22 homers, good for a .265 ISO and a 138.8 wRC+ that sits nearly 39 points above league average. The batted-ball mix backs it up: a 26.5% line-drive rate and 34.5% fly-ball rate with a healthy 41.2% pull share signal real lift and damage, not empty loft. Just as encouraging, he’s not a dead pull masher, 26.4% oppo usage shows he’s perfectly comfortable driving the ball the other way when he needs to.

The growth area this year is swing decisions and contact quality within the zone. Caissie’s 57 walks (13.2% BB%) against 121 strikeouts (28.0% K%) paint the prototype OBP-friendly slugger, but the underlying swing-and-miss has tightened as well; an 11.9% SwStr% is very manageable for a hitter with this much juice. He’s shortened the path enough to get to velocity without sacrificing leverage, and his posture allows him to ride balls to left-center while still yanking mistakes into the seats to the pull side. There’s still some chase and vulnerability to quality left-on-left spin, par for the course for a young slugger, but his zone control at 22 in Triple-A is exactly what you want to see from a future middle-of-the-order bat.
Defensively, Caissie’s plus arm fits comfortably in right field and gives him another path to at-bats if the Cubs opt for a DH/OF rotation. He’s not going to add much on the bases (five steals this year), so the fantasy value lives in power and OBP. Contextually, this is a prospect who’s both producing and young for level, and he’s backed it with a skill set that should translate to Wrigley. He sits at 104 on our board with an ETA of 2025, and based on the way he’s trending, that number will climb if the plate skills hold.
Fantasy Outlook
In Dynasty and OBP formats, Caissie is a buy. You’re getting 30-homer upside with on-base stability thanks to a double-digit walk rate, and the all-fields power profile should play in Wrigley, particularly to the pull-side gap. In standard 5×5 AVG leagues, there’s a bit more volatility; expect some early batting-average rockiness as the K% likely ticks up against big-league secondaries, but the damage on contact should keep him from being a drag. In points leagues, the walks bolster his floor and make him an immediate streamer with everyday upside once he’s up. Short version: this is a middle-of-the-order skill set arriving soon, and the window to acquire at a slight discount is closing.
