Week 3 – Draft EPL Waiver Wire

The Week 3 EPL waiver wire sees managers with some options as injuries and red cards are already having a meaningful effect on EPL lineups.

Last week’s suggestion, Josh Cullen had a goal and assist against Sunderland in, and he’s now had two straight good games. He’s still rostered in only 38% of leagues. David Brooks was good but not great in a 1-0 win, but enough that he should be kept on rosters. Anton Stach still found a way to score decent points even in a 5-0 loss to Arsenal, also making him a keeper for now. Josh Acheampong missed out as Chelsea defenders came back from injury.

There is an international break after week 3, so I’m guessing that injured players may not be risked with extra rest on he way. We were treated to some great games last week. Let’s hope that there are more this week.

Week 3 Fantasy Draft EPL Waiver Wire

Week 3 suggestions (rostered 50% or less) are listed in order from most to least rostered.

Jadon Anthony – Forward – Rostered 49% – Manchester United vs Burnley

Anthony has not been intimidated by the EPL stage. He opened his scoring tally last game and added an assist in a 2-0 win over fellow promoted team, Sunderland.  As a key part of the Burnley attack, Anthony will continue to see the ball and create fantasy points from that. Burnley have a tough set of matches coming up, so don’t give up if you don’t see massive production over this period. The easier matchups will come.

Matty Cash – Defender – Rostered 46% – Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace

Villa’s offense has yet to get started, but their defense has conceded just once in their two games. Cash has been good money over the first two games, averaging double digits in the early season. He’s consistent, and their schedule over the next five games is favorable. He’s one of the better defenders currently on the EPL waiver wire.

Ethan Nwaneri – Midfielder – Rostered 30% – Liverpool vs Arsenal

Nwaneri slotted right in when Bukayo Saka came off injured. It’s a tough injury for Saka and Arsenal. Nwaneri stared for a stretch last season when Saka was out, and he may be favored to do so again. The Gunners are deeper this year, especially with Eberechi Eze joining. It’s an important set of games for the Gunners as they face Liverpool, Forrest, and Man City over their next three.

William Osula – Forward –  Rostered 1% – Leeds vs Newcastle

His official debut was a one-minute appearance in the season opener, but people will remember his appearance and goal in the dramatic 3-2 loss to Liverpool. With Alexander Isak still in limbo and Anthony Gordon suspended for the next three games for the red card, the new signing should get his chance to claim the forward spot. He gets back-to-back good matchups, too, as they travel to Leeds and then host Wolves. There’s nothing sure here, but there is some promise and high potential upside.

It’s still early in the season. There are some good players still. Trust your gut and the matchups. Good luck.
