Week 7 – Draft EPL Waiver Wire

Moving on from Week 6 to 7, the EPL waiver wire offers some good options before the international break.

The Week 6 suggestions had the good, the bad, and the injured. For Nordi Mukiele, it was another double-digit fantasy point performance and a shutout. He’s still available in over half the leagues. Jake O’Brien was solid but not great, as they tied 1-1. Harry Wilson got the start, but that was about it in a disappointing 3-1 loss to Aston Villa. Douglas Luiz was a late injury scratch, and managers will have to wait and see reports this week.

Week 7 Fantasy Draft EPL Waiver Wire

Week 7 suggestions (rostered 50% or less) are listed in order from most to least rostered.

Adam Wharton – Midfielder – Rostered 46% – Everton vs Crystal Palace

Wharton has had back-to-back double-digit Fantrax points, including against Liverpool. He scored that without a goal or an assist, meaning there are points coming from different places. He’s started in five of six games and looks to continue. Palace is the only undefeated team in the EPL. He’s worth a look and spot on most rosters.

Sasa Lukic – Midfielder – Rostered 31% – Bournemouth vs Fulham

Lukic, who is generally thought of as more of a holding midfielder, is putting up points on the attacking end this year, too. Most of this is due to his responsibility on more and more set pieces and corners. He’s still picking up defensive stats. He grabbed his first assist last weekend, too. Lukic has six shots over his last three games. He’s getting a full 90 minutes in most games, too, making him a long option on the EPL waiver wire.

Yasin Ayari – Midfielder – Rostered 27% – Wolves vs Brighton

This is a matchup choice, as Brighton travels to last-place Wolves. Ayari has shown promise with a goal and a big point return against Spurs. Otherwise, he’s been consistent if not great. The Seagulls scored three last weekend against Chelsea and two against Spurs the weekend before. So there are signs of their attacking picking up some momentum, and against Wolves, who have conceded 13, there’s a chance for points here.

Sven Botman – Defender – Rostered 18% – Newcastle vs Nottingham Forest

Botman has started three games so far this season, including the last two. In those three, Newcastle have secured two shutouts, with only Arsenal scoring against them. He’s getting consistent defensive stats, making him a potential weekly starter and a good choice on the EPL waiver wire. Opponents Forest have struggled to score this season, so it’s a good home matchup as well.

Go with matchups. Have fun. Good luck.
