MLB Injury Report
Marcus Stroman – SP Chicago Cubs
Marcus Stroman exited the game with a blister on his right index finger. The blister didn't open up so the Cubs removed him before it got worst.
— Meghan Montemurro (@M_Montemurro) June 25, 2023
Stroman could be seen shaking his hand after pitching at various points of the game. The blister itself never ruptured, so there’s a chance that this isn’t as serious as it could have been.
Cody Bellinger – OF Chicago Cubs
Ross said pregame today Bellinger was a little under the weather. https://t.co/Md45USwzHI

Consider Bellinger DTD until he feels better, though the team has time off to recover from their trip overseas.
Liam Hendriks – RP Chicago Cubs, Mike Clevinger – SP Chicago Cubs
Pedro Grifol said Liam Hendriks will not be back from the IL before the All-Star break. Less definite that Mike Clevinger won’t pitch till second half, but given that he’s a starter and will require to be built back up, it’s certainly possible.
— Vinnie Duber (@VinnieDuber) June 25, 2023
The team hopes that Hendriks can begin throwing next week. It’s obvious that they will take their time with him, given his past and how important he is to them as well. As for Clevinger, he is also going to try and throw this week with a potential rehab assignment in the subsequent cards.
Jose Altuve – 2B Houston Astros
José Altuve has a sore heel from hitting the bag on his bunt single yesterday, manager Dusty Baker said. He is likely unavailable today.

Consider Altuve DTD while he manages this heel situation.
Anthony Rendon – 3B Los Angeles Angels
Nevin on Anthony Rendon: "He feels good today. He was able to take some swings in the cage and take some ground balls. But there are certain actions that bother him still. With the moves we made and depth we have, we have time make sure this is healed and not to rush anything."
— Rhett Bollinger (@RhettBollinger) June 25, 2023
From the looks of it, Rendon will be out for a while. He is still immobile and unable to do certain things on the field are a necessity. Furthermore, the team just traded for Eduardo Escobar and Mike Moustakas to help them win now. Fielding an injured player jeopardizes their chances at that and could hurt him long-term.
Chris Taylor – OF Los Angeles Dodgers
Dave Roberts said Chris Taylor’s right knee hasn’t gotten any worse — it just hasn’t gotten better. He’ll be eligible to return in a week.
Yonny Hernández takes Taylor’s spot on the active roster.
— Fabian Ardaya (@FabianArdaya) June 25, 2023
Taylor was sent to the 10-day Injured List to help his knee get better. The hope is that a minimum stay is all that he will need.
Ryan Helsely – RP St. Louis Cardinals
#STLCards closer Ryan Helsley is eligible to come off the IL today, but he isn’t close to being activated, manager Oli Marmol said. Helsley, who is not on the London trip, was put on a 10-day no-throw plan. That expired on Monday, but he is still a ways away from returning.
— John Denton (@JohnDenton555) June 25, 2023
This is obviously not good news at all, considering the circumstances. Helsley was shut down from throwing once he went on the Injured List and has yet to show much improvement. He is eligible to return this week, but that clearly won’t happen. Stay tuned for updates. In the meantime, Jordan Hicks not only has the job as the team’s closer but might be running away with it.
