Yup, it’s that’s time of the week again. If you’re thinking about who to start, who to sit, and who to stream, this article should be very helpful. So good luck to you next week, hope your first nine weeks have gone well, and as always, please remember to stream responsibly.

Don’t You Dare Bench These Two-Start Pitchers

Tarik Skubal SP Tigers

2 starts next week: Tuesday, May 28th vs. Pirates + Sunday, June 2nd @ Red Sox

Freddy Peralta SP Brewers

Last start: Wednesday, May 22nd @ Marlins – 7IP L 1ER 4H 1BB 7K

2 starts next week: Tuesday, May 28th vs. Cubs + Sunday, June 2nd vs. White Sox

Cole Ragans SP/RP Royals

Last start: Wednesday, May 22nd vs. Tigers – 6IP W 0ER 1H 3BB 12K

2 starts next week: Tuesday, May 28th @ Twins + Sunday, June 2nd vs. Padres

Max Fried SP Braves

Last start: Wednesday, May 22nd @ Cubs – 9IP W 1ER 3H 0BB 9K

2 starts next week: Tuesday, May 28th vs. Nationals + Sunday, June 2nd vs. A’s

Joe Ryan SP Twins

Last start: Tuesday, May 21st @ Nationals – 7IP W 0ER 3H 2BB 6K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th vs. Royals + Saturday, June 1st @ Astros

Nestor Cortes SP Yankees

Last start: Wednesday, May 22nd vs. Mariners – 5IP W 0ER 3H 3BB 6K

2 starts next week: Tuesday, May 28th @ Angels + Sunday, June 2nd @ Giants

You Should Probably Start These Two-Start Pitchers

Framber Valdez SP Astros

Last start: Tuesday, May 21st vs. Angles – 4IP 4ER 8H 3BB 1K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th @ Mariners + Sunday, June 2nd vs. Twins

Justin Steele SP Cubs

Last start: Wednesday, May 22nd vs. Braves – 6.1IP L 5ER 6H 1BB 5K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th @ Brewers + Saturday, June 1st vs. Reds

Notes: Seems too early to panic about Justin Steele’s last three starts (15 earned runs in 16 innings). Wednesday’s line looks worse than it was, as all but two of his runs were surrendered in the 7th inning after he’d thrown a season-high amount of pitches. We’ll chalk it up to rust for now after returning from the IL. I’m still starting him as a two-start pitcher.

Charlie Morton SP Braves

Last start: Tuesday, May 21st @ Cubs – 5IP 1ER (2R) 4H 4BB 8K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th vs. Nationals + Saturday, June 2nd vs. A’s

Chris Bassitt SP Blue Jays

Last start: Wednesday, May 22nd vs. White Sox – 7IP W 0ER 5H 2BB 4K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th @ White Sox + Sunday, June 2nd vs. Pirates

Nick Lodolo SP Reds

Last start: Saturday, May 11th @ Giants – 6IP L 4ER 5H 1BB 6K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th vs. Cardinals + Sunday, June 2nd @ Cubs

Notes: Looks like Nick Lodolo will only miss the minimum amount of time on the IL. Due to the injury being non-arm related (groin), the short length of time missed, and the great underlying numbers (xERA of 3.10 and a whopping 33.7% whiff rate) during his 35 innings this season, it seems reasonable to insert the 26-year-old directly into your lineup.

Brayan Bello SP Red Sox

Last start: Wednesday, May 22nd @ Rays – 6IP W 3ER 4H 4BB 6K

2 starts next week: Tuesday, May 28th @ Orioles + Sunday, June 2nd vs. Tigers

Michael King SP/RP Padres

Last start: Wednesday, May 22nd @ Reds – 6.2IP W 3ER 4H 2BB 6K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th vs. Marlins + Sunday, June 2nd @ Royals

Bryce Miller SP Mariners

Last start: Wednesday, May 22nd @ Yankees – 6IP L 5ER 5H 0BB 4K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th vs. Astros + Saturday, June 1st vs. Angels

Notes: In a year when home runs are down greatly, Bryce Miller sure bucks the trend. After allowing three to the Yankees on Wednesday, the 25-year-old now sports an ugly 1.69 HR/9 rate. And in a week when he’s facing two teams that rank in the top 10 in home runs, one might be reasonably nervous. Considering only three of the 11 home runs he’s surrendered have come in Seattle, I’m still inclined to start him with two home matchups next week. Going forward, though, this is worth reevaluation. Stay tuned.

In the Right Situation, These Two-Start Pitchers Make Sense

Zack Littell SP/RP Rays

Last start: Tuesday, May 21st vs. Red Sox – 5.2IP 2ER 3H 1BB 7K

2 starts next week: Tuesday, May 28th vs. A’s + Sunday, June 2nd @ Orioles

Gavin Stone SP Dodgers

Last start: Tuesday, May 21st vs. DBacks – 6IP L 4ER 8H 1BB 5K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th @ Mets + Sunday, June 2nd vs. Rockies

Notes: Gavin Stone has a great supporting offense (Dodgers rank 1st in wOBA) and has two favorable starts next week. The Mets rank 18th in wOBA while the Rockies are 19th (even worse on the road). The 25-year-old has also gone at least six innings in six of his last seven starts. This makes him an ideal points-league stream. Categories? You could do worse.

Brandon Pfaadt SP DBacks

Last start: Tuesday, May 21st @ Dodgers – 6IP W 2ER (3R) 4H 1BB 7K

2 starts last week: Tuesday, May 28th @ Rangers + Sunday, June 2nd @ Mets

Alec Marsh SP/RP Royals

Last start: Tuesday, May 21st vs. Tigers – 6IP W 3ER 5H 2BB 5K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th @ Twins + Saturday, June 1st vs. Padres

Notes: Red flags for Alec Marsh include an xERA that is well over a run higher than the real thing (4.03 vs. 2.27) and decreased whiff and K rates from last season. He’s getting more whiffs with his fastball (31.1% vs. 25.8% last season), though, which is usually a good sign. As a two-start pitcher in a points league, you could certainly stream much worse. But I’m still not sold for categories. Not unless you’re low on options.

Blake Snell SP Giants

Last start: Wednesday, May 22nd @ Pirates – 3.1IP 4ER 4H 4BB 5K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th vs. Phillies + Sunday, June 2nd vs. Yankees

Notes: Hope you’re buckled up for the Blake Snell roller-coaster ride. It’s full of highs and lows. Surprises. Thrills. Sometimes it makes you sick. In the end, the reigning Cy Young winner will probably figure it out. Don’t bail out early (drop him), but maybe take him out of service for maintenance (bench him) if you can afford to.

Cooper Criswell SP/RP Red Sox

Last start: Tuesday, May 21st @ Rays – 5.1IP 2ER 6H 1BB 6K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th @ Orioles + Saturday, June 1st vs. Tigers

Notes: Though his ERA (2.86) isn’t likely to remain elite, Cooper Criswell’s great walk rate (5.6%) and decent enough K rate (23.9%) seem to work well with lots of ground balls (49% GB rate). It could very well keep the 27-year-old relevant in points leagues where one can take advantage of the RP eligibility. He could also work as a two-start pitcher in deep-ish categories leagues too. At least with one opponent being the Tigers, ranked 23rd in wOBA.

Cole Irvin SP/RP Orioles

Last appearance: Wednesday, May 22nd @ Cardinals – 3.1IP 3ER (5R) 6H 0BB 2K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th vs. Red Sox + Sunday, June 2nd vs. Rays

Simeon Woods Richardson SP/RP Twins

Last start: Wednesday, May 22nd @ Nationals – 4.2IP 0ER 3H 1BB 1K

2 starts next week: Tuesday, May 28th vs. Royals + Sunday, June 2nd @ Astros

Notes: Despite the near-elite control (4.9% BB rate), Simeon Woods Richardsons’s lack of whiffs and strikeouts (ranked 6th and 23rd percentile, respectively) and low ground ball rate (37%) make me doubt how long that 0.5 HR/9 rate and 2.57 ERA can last. That being said, as a two-start pitcher with RP eligibility, perhaps the 23-year-old is a notch above desperation in a points league.

Robert Gasser SP Brewers

Last start: Tuesday, May 21st @ Marlins – 6IP 4ER (5R) 10H 0BB 0K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th vs. Cubs + Saturday, June 1st vs. White Sox

Notes: Despite his name, Robert Gasser is not generating many whiffs or strikeouts (1st percentile K rate). He’s doing everything else well, however. His hard-hit rate actually is the best in baseball (19.7%). Not sure this is at all sustainable, but as a two-start pitcher with one start against the White Sox (dead last in wOBA), let’s just say points leagues and deep leagues for now.

You Better Be Desperate To Start These Two-Start Pitchers

Ben Brown SP/RP Cubs

Last start: Thursday, May 23rd vs. Braves – 4IP 0ER 1H 2BB 6K

2 starts next week: Tuesday, May 28th @ Brewers + Sunday, June 2nd vs. Reds

Notes: Though Ben Brown’s overall numbers are good through 39 innings (3.20 ERA/1.19 WHIP), he’s allowing a ton of hard contact (bottom 1st percentile in both average exit velocity and hard-hit rate). So despite early success and RP eligibility, this situation seems like a ticking time bomb. Plus, the 24-year-old has only thrown five or more innings during one appearance. There’s upside here, no doubt, but I’ll watch from the sidelines.

Tylor Megill SP Mets

Last start: Monday, May 20th @ Guardians – 5IP L 2ER (3R) 4H 2BB 7K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th vs. Dodgers + Sunday, June 2nd vs. DBacks

Austin Gomber SP Rockies

Last start: Wednesday, May 22nd @ A’s – 8IP 1ER 5H 0BB 6K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th vs. Guardians + Sunday, June 2nd @ Dodgers

Jake Irvin SP Nationals

Last start: Wednesday, May 22nd vs. Twins – 6.1IP L 2ER 5H 0BB 6K

2 starts next week: Tuesday, May 28th @ Braves + Sunday, June 2nd @ Guardians

Lance Lynn SP Cardinals

Last start: Tuesday, May 21st vs. Orioles – 6IP W 0ER 2H 0BB 5K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th @ Reds + Sunday, June 2nd @ Phillies

Xzavion Curry SP/RP Guardians

Last start: Tuesday, May 21st vs. Mets – 4.1IP 2ER 7H 0BB 2K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th @ Rockies + Sunday, June 2nd vs. Nationals

Taijuan Walker SP Phillies

Last start: Wednesday, May 22nd vs. Rangers – 4.2IP 3ER 6H 4BB 5K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th @ Giants + Sunday, June 2nd vs. Cardinals

Griffin Canning SP Angels

Last start: Tuesday, May 21st  @ Astros – 5IP 2ER 5H 3BB 2K

2 starts next week: Tuesday, May 28th vs. Yankees + Sunday, June 2nd @ Mariners

Trevor Rogers SP Marlins

Last start: Tuesday, May 21st vs. Brewers – 3.2IP 4ER 6H 4BB 4K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th @ Padres + Sunday, June 2nd vs. Rangers

Nick Nastrini SP White Sox

Last start: Wednesday, May 22nd @ Blue Jays – 3.1IP L 8ER (9R) 7H 6BB 0K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th vs. Blue Jays + Sunday, June 2nd @ Brewers

Patrick Corbin SP Nationals

Last start: Tuesday, May 21st vs. Twins – 6IP L 8ER 9H 3BB 3K

2 starts next week: Monday, May 27th @ Braves + Saturday, June 1st @ Guardians

Mitch Spence SP/RP A’s

Last start: Wednesday, May 22nd vs. Rockies – 3IP 2ER 5H 3BB 4K

2 starts next week: Tuesday, May 28th @ Rays + Sunday, June 2nd @ Braves
