Top 20 Texas Rangers Prospects for Dynasty Leagues

Entering the year as the defending World Series champions is exciting, but the Texas Rangers didn’t plan to follow it up by missing the playoffs. However, that’s what happened. Injuries and some steps back in their lineup were a big reason why. Hopefully, they have a healthier situation heading into next season. Especially after adding Joc Pederson and Jake Burger this offseason. There are also some pretty solid Rangers prospects on the way who could add a lot to the equation.

Their farm system has a lot of really fun potential within their top five or six prospects. Many of the rest of the prospects listed are in the lower levels of the minor leagues. That works out well for potential reinforcements in a few years. As of right now, unless they are a budding star, there is not a lot of room on the Rangers roster for prospects to make an impact in the upcoming year without some injuries.

Top 20 Texas Rangers Prospects for Dynasty Leagues

1. SS Sebastian Walcott, Age: 18

The fact that Sebastian Walcott has been so successful at such a young age is a reason to be excited about his future. By the end of 2024, Walcott got a small taste of Double-A, which is where he’ll return after freshly turning 19 years old in March. In High-A last season Walcott hit 10 home runs and stole 26 bases while slashing .246/.335/.471. The best part of his performance last season was that he cut his strikeout rate from 30 percent the year prior, when he was 17, down to 25.5 percent. Walcott is positioning himself to be a legitimate threat to contribute in several different categories. If he continues to keep the whiffs down, the sky is the limit for how good he can be and how quickly he can become an impact bat.

2. RHP Kumar Rocker, Age: 25

It was a long journey for Kumar Rocker, who made his MLB debut in 2024, striking out 14 batters with a 3.86 ERA in 11.2 innings. Prior to joining the Rangers, Rocker threw 36.2 innings with a 1.96 ERA and 55 strikeouts. The talent has never been in doubt but the longevity is a big question. He threw 48.1 innings last season and 28 innings the year before. It seems like Rocker found the talent from back in his Vanderbilt days and that means he could be a top-end pitcher for the Rangers and for fantasy baseball managers. It will be interesting to see how Texas handles the upcoming season for Rocker. If he’s pitching, he should be an easy start.

3. RHP Alejandro Rosario, Age: 23

After being the Ranger’s 2023 fifth-round selection out of the University of Miami, Alejandro Rosario showed how good of a decision that was when he debuted this past season. He pitched at both Single-A and High-A where he combined for a 2.24 ERA with a 36.9 percent strikeout rate and 33.7 percent walk rate. In short, he was dominant. If he can continue that success in Double-A, his stock will continue to rise very quickly. Rosario can touch triple digits with his fastball when he reaches back while also working with a good breaking ball and a plus splitter. There’s no doubt that 2024 was an impressive showing for Rosario. He will be 23 years old for all of the 2025 season and with success he might have an outside chance to be a candidate for an end-of-season cup of coffee.

4. RHP Winston Santos, Age: 22

The Rangers signed Winston Santos during the 2019 International Free Agency period, which meant he had to wait until after the pandemic-canceled season to debut. Once he did, Santos was pitching well, but then things took a step forward this past season. He posted a 2.80 ERA in High-A before a promotion to Double-A. At both levels, he had a strikeout rate of around 30 percent and a walk rate of around seven percent. By those numbers, he was having a great season. Santos did see his ERA jump to 4.89 with Frisco, in large part due to his trouble with the long ball. The Texas League favors hitters, so the fact that the other numbers remained steady is what’s important. He likely heads back to Double-A to start the 2025 season, but with some success could move up to Triple-A early in the year.

5. RHP Emiliano Teodo, Age: 23

One of the most live arms in minor league baseball belongs to Emiliano Teodo, who lives in the upper90s and has been as high as 102 MPH. As that number implies, he’s coming off a year where he posted an 11.47 K/9 with a 1.98 ERA in 86.1 Double-A innings. Beyond his big fastball, Teodo mixes in a really good slider that helps him miss a lot of bats. There is going to be a lot of reliever risk talk around Teodo, and with a BB/9 north of 5 last season, it’s warranted. Either way, he projects as an impact arm who will rack up strikeouts. The Rangers protected Teodo from the Rule 5 draft, meaning he could debut this season.

6. OF Alejandro Osuna, Age: 22

Alejandro Osuna spent most of last season in Double-A where he slashed .306/.379/.523 with nine home runs and seven stolen bases. On the year he hit 18 home runs with 17 steals. Osuna had enough success that Triple-A is a possibility early next season. His step forward in the power department last season really helped his fantasy value. The lefty hitter could be a great contributor in power and speed categories for dynasty baseball managers.

7. OF Dylan Dreiling, Age: 21

Texas selected Dylan Dreiling 65th overall before being assigned to High-A to finish out the season. While he hit just .198 in 106 plate appearances, he did walk almost as much as he struck out while adding a home run and five steals. He hits the ball well and has plenty of speed. It might be those wheels that ultimately help the most, but he shows the skills to get on base and should be able to add some power. Odds are he heads back to High-A before potentially moving up at some point in the season.

8. RHP Jack Leiter, Age: 24

After a great career at Vanderbilt, there was a lot of buzz around Jack Leiter entering the professional ranks. Things did not go as planned, but he did steadily climb and wound up making his debut last season. He threw 35.2 innings with an 8.83 ERA. Walks and home runs have been an issue for Leiter throughout his time, but his strikeout rates have been very high. He didn’t have those strikeouts during his debut. There is a lot of reliever risk here, but his big strikeout rates are still reason to keep believing even if it’s just a little bit.

9. SS Yolfran Castillo, Age: 17

A .414 average in the DSL was good enough for the Rangers to believe a 17-year-old Yolfran Castillo to spent some time on the Complex. He made a lot of contact during his first professional season, with a sub-10 percent strikeout rate. Castillo should grow into some power, but he is ultimately going to be a hit-first profile with some speed. His 6-foot-3 frame is a lot to dream on in terms of what he could be, especially considering he should reach Low-A or higher at 18-years-old.

10. 2B Justin Foscue, Age: 25

Justin Foscue debuted in the majors last season, slashing .048/.091/.071 in 44 plate appearances. That poor small sample size performance goes against everything his numbers at every other level say. Foscue is a great hitter. What’s more concerning for dynasty baseball managers is that there’s not a clear path to playing time for him. He probably starts the year in Triple-A and could be an option if injuries occur.

11. OF Paulino Santana, Age: 18

One of the marquee prospects during the 2024 International Free Agency period was Paulino Santana. The Rangers signed him for just shy of $1.3 million. In his DSL debut, Santana slashed .292/.465/.364 with 20 stolen bases. He has a lot of potential as a hitter who can add power to his already present speed. There’s still a good deal of risk for Santana, but he has some star power upside if it all comes together.

12. C Malcolm Moore, Age: 21

The Rangers took Malcolm Moore 30th overall in 2024. He was sent to High-A where he slashed .209/.298/.374 with three home runs. It was overall a solid debut for a catcher with an intriguing bat in the future. While playing a premium position, Moore has some potential power, but he did post a 27.9 percent strikeout rate in his debut. He will look to make more contact in his first full season in 2025, and if he does he has upside potential as a solid bat-first catcher.

13. OF Braylin Morel, Age: 19

In 2023 the Rangers signed Braylin Morel for $97,500 during the International Free Agency period. After an impressive DSL debut in 2023, he spent all of the 2024 season on the Complex, hitting .307 with seven home runs and 12 stolen bases. Morel should start in Single-A in 2025 where he will look to continue to find the same success.

14. LHP Mitch Bratt, Age: 21

Mitch Bratt was the Rangers’ fifth-round pick in 2021. Last season he pitched his way to Double-A at 20 years old. Between both levels, Bratt threw 110.1 innings with a 3.75 ERA with a 9.54 K/9, and a 2.28 BB/9. He has a low-90s fastball with a solid slider and changeup. Bratt throws strikes and looks to be a backend rotation arm who can fill up the zone and miss a few bats along the way.

15. OF Yeremi Cabrera, Age: 19

Amongst the high-potential bats in the lower minors for the Rangers is Yeremi Cabrera. Following time on the Complex, Cabrera was able to make his Single-A debut. His performance was underwhelming post-promotion, but overall he slashed .262/.395/.463 with nine home runs and 24 stolen bases. Though it wasn’t a huge sample, his near 30 percent whiff rate in Single-A could prove to be an issue. Still, he’s a potential power/speed threat.

16. RHP David Davalillo, Age: 22

It was a really good year for David Davalillo in 2024, throwing for a 1.88 ERA across Single-A and High-A. He can reach the mid-90s with his fastball which pairs with a solid changeup. His stuff can play up because he commands it all well. His ceiling may not be huge, but he should have a really solid floor as a rotation arm. Davalillo may go back to High-A after only 30 innings there but should end the season in at least Double-A.

17. RHP Izack Tiger, Age: 23

Strikeouts are the name of the game with Izack Tiger and they come frequently thanks to his high-90s fastball and great slider. His 2024 season ended after 46 innings with a 30 percent strikeout rate. Tiger is going to be out for all of 2025, but his arsenal is a really exciting one. His stock will be down because of it, but he’s a player who could be worth stashing in deeper leagues.

18. RHP Jose Corniell, Age: 21

After missing last season recovering from Tommy John Surgery, Jose Corniell isn’t guaranteed 2025 either. That makes him a very risky dynasty play. The last time he played in 2023, Corniell posted a 2.92 ERA in 101.2 innings with a 10.53 K/9. Missing two years isn’t ideal, but he’s still young. If he comes back in similar form it may wind up being worth the wait.

19. 3B Gleider Figuereo, Age: 20

Power can be a very helpful thing to have in fantasy baseball, and that is something Gleider Figuereo has. He hit 20 home runs between Single-A and High-A last season while slashing .227/.309/.423 with a 27 percent strikeout rate. His entire profile will depend on whether he can continue to hit for power, but he’s shown that ability to this point in his career.

20.  LHP Kohl Drake, Age: 24

The Rangers 2022 11th-rounder started in Single-A before finishing the season in Double-A. Kohl Drake threw 106 innings with a 35 percent strikeout rate on the season. His fastball can touch the mid-90s with a slider and changeup that he commands well. Double-A proved to be a challenge with his strikeout and walk rates trending in the wrong direction. He should get another chance at it to start 2025.
