Fantasy Football: Late Round RB Targets

Fantasy Football is never won in the early rounds of a draft. Most leagues are won by, the late gems you find in your drafts, working the waiver wire in-season, and a little bit of luck throughout the season. Whether you are looking for receivers or running backs, the late rounds are where you get handcuffs to running backs, sleepers that can take over, and what will separate you from your league mates. Here are my favorite late-round RBs you should be targeting in your upcoming fantasy football drafts.

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune in the 2025 season.

Late Round RB Targets

Brian Robinson, ADP 84.8, Washington Commanders

Brian Robinson is being drafted at the start of round eight in fantasy football. He has not had over 800 rushing yards in any of his three seasons. He does not catch passes, either. Despite that, Robinson does find the end zone. He has had 17 touchdowns combined over the last two seasons, with eight in 2024. Robinson is a perfect candidate to be selected in the eighth round as you build your team with high-powered receivers. I believe Robinson will exceed 10 touchdowns and have around 15 in 2025. Worry about stacking receivers and take Robinson confidently as your RB1 in fantasy football drafts.

Travis Etienne, ADP 99.9, Jacksonville Jaguars

Travis Etienne broke everyone’s hearts last year in fantasy football. He finished as the RB3 in 2023, so in 2024, we were all excited for an encore. He followed up his RB3 season with an RB35 finish and has fallen in the rankings tremendously. Etienne is being drafted in round nine. With Liam Coen as the Jaguars coach, it is wheels up for Etienne. Basically, think of Bucky Irving last year with Coen in Tampa Bay. All in all, expect that and more from Etienne in 2025. He is a steal at RB34, and it is a gift to draft him at his current ADP.

Jordan Mason, ADP 111.5, Minnesota Vikings

Pending how J.J. McCarthy looks, the Vikings will have one of the best offenses in football. Aaron Jones is creeping up on the age where running backs tend to fall off a cliff. Therefore, Jordan Mason in round 10 is an amazing handcuff to have stashed on your bench in fantasy football. At age 30, Jones still has gas in the tank, but taking a handcuff to a running back that age is a perfect strategy that can pay off tenfold in the future.

Zach Charbonnet, ADP 114.5, Seattle Seahawks

For starters, Kenneth Walker has never played an entire season in his three years in the NFL. Last year, he missed six games. In some of those games he missed, Zach Charbonnet showed that he is the best handcuff in the entire NFL. Charbonnet had finishes of RB8, RB7, and RB1 in three of those games Walker missed. In Round 10, your starting lineup should be completed. Stashing a running back like Charbonnet is one of the best things a fantasy manager an do in fantasy football. So, it is basically having a RB1 on the bench ready to go pending if Walker goes down in 2025.

Final Thoughts

As I noted, Fantasy Football is won in the late rounds and waiver wire. Drafting all of these running backs can give you great results in 2025 and potentially lead you to a championship.
