Week 1 Running Back Sleepers and Streamers

Sleepers and Streamers are here for the 2025 fantasy football season. This one will be about running backs, my favorite position to write about. Running backs can fluctuate a ton in the season, and that is why identifying effective streamers is key. These are not the top-tier backs, but the ones no one is talking about, and the ones that turn into league winners or trade bait pieces for later in the season. Streamers are players that are good plays, and sleepers are players that no one is thinking about for a plethora of reasons, like match-ups and not being confident enough to insert them in their lineup.

What!? Your fantasy football league wasn’t hosted on Fantrax last season!? Once you see how Fantrax stacks up to the competition, we think you’ll be singing a different tune in the 2025 season.

Running Back Sleepers

Jerome Ford (RB33) vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Jerome Ford should be the RB1 for the Cleveland Browns in Week 1. Dylan Sampson will play behind him. Quinshon Judkins still has not signed his contract, either. In one game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Ford finished as the RB9 with 24.1 points in that game. The Bengals once again have no defense. Although the Browns are slated to be an awful team, these division match-ups are always good. Ford should be in every line-up in Week 1 and is my favorite RB in sleepers and streamers for Week 1.

Nick Chubb (RB38) @ Los Angeles Rams

Nick Chubb is aging, but he will be the RB1 for the Houston Texans while Joe Mixon is on the IR. Also, Mixon might miss more than four games. People who drafted Chubb have possibly hit a gold mine. Although the Texans pass at a high volume, Chubb will be great in the red zone, and he is somewhat like Derrick Henry, where age has not stopped either one of them. I would not start Chubb as my RB1 or RB2 unless you did a zeroRB strategy, but if I roster Chubb, I will strongly consider him as one of my FLEX spots in Week 1 as one of the most intriguing sleepers in every sleeper and streamers article in the fantasy world.

Running Back Streamers

TreVeyon Henderson (RB22) vs. Las Vegas Raiders

Other than Ashton Jeanty, TreVeyon Henderson has the most hype for a rookie running back and a rookie overall besides Emeka Egbuka. Henderson has taken the NFL by storm with his gameplay during the pre-season with his runs and his kickoff return for a touchdown. He has all the makings of an elite RB1 despite his size. In Week 1, the New England Patriots get to face the Las Vegas Raiders, and Henderson is said to be the focal point of the offense. At RB22, I am streaming Henderson in every league I have him in. Henderson will be featured in sleepers and streamers a lot this season until he is ranked as a RB1.

Travis Etienne (RB27) vs Carolina Panthers

Now is the time for Travis Etienne to make us forget about that nightmare season in 2024. Etienne gets the perfect matchup to start the 2025 season. He faces the Carolina Panthers, who gave up the most fantasy PPG to RBs in 2024 with 27.19 PPG. The Panthers gave up 21 total touchdowns, too. I trust in Liam Coen, and I trust Etienne more than any other Jacksonville Jaguars RB in 2025. Fire up Etienne and have him in your lineup in every league you roster him in.
