As we roll into Week 3, we are starting to see some trends in what is working and what is not for teams. My Week 3 RB rankings take into account that Najee Harris might be more of a problem for Omarion Hampton, and Trey Benson is gaining more and more snaps in Arizona.
There is no need to overreact to what happened last week, but it is something to take into account. For example, it is probably wise to bench RJ Harvey until an injury happens in the Denver RB room. Let’s get into some of my key players to watch out for this week.

Running Back Notes
- Let’s start with Ashton Jeanty as my RB16 against the Commanders. Jeanty has had a rough two weeks coming into the league. He is still the main workhorse in the office, but Zamir White did sneak in some snaps last week. Jeanty had 39 snaps while White had 21. But the Raiders were playing from behind, which limited Jeanty to only 11 carries for 43 yards. The Raiders’ O-line has been rough, but it is only a matter of time till he breaks out. This week is a tough start as the Commanders are only giving up 13 fantasy points per game to RBs. So, I would have Jeanty as a flex option this week.
- Next, I have James Cook as my RB5 going against the Dolphins. I was wrong about Cook this year. I thought the touchdowns would go down, and he would be an average RB2 this season. Yet, he already has three touchdowns on the season and 176 rushing yards. He has finished in the top-5 in both weeks this season, and I expect him to finish inside the top-5 again this week. The Dolphins are giving up 24.2 fantasy points per game to RBs this year. Cook is a lock for an RB1.
- Lastly, I have Cam Skattebo as my RB35. If you are in a deep league, he could be startable. But I would leave him on the bench for one more week. However, last week did bring a ton of promise as he did lead the team in carries with 11 and scored a touchdown. He also led with 35 snaps over Tyrone Tracy Jr. with 28 snaps. Skattebo is making a case to be the lead back in the offense, and I would stash him on your bench if he is still available.
