Dynasty football trades are the pillar of turning teams from borderline contenders to bona fide contenders at this part of the year. Week 7 is basically the midway point of the fantasy football regular season, as most playoffs start in Week 15 of the NFL season. Now is the time to make that move to put your team over the top or amass a ton of picks in this upcoming draft.
Everyone has always said that the middle is the worst place to be in fantasy. And those people could not be more correct. You either want an elite draft pick or a decent chance to win it all. Turning teams around is a lot easier with someone like Ashton Jeanty, Bijan Robinson, and players of that magnitude.

I wanted to use the introduction as a little reminder to try to escape the middle at all costs. Being stuck there is absolutely no fun, and it is a lot harder to turn a team around in that spot. Below are a few ideas to help contenders and rebuilders escape the middle by acquiring talented players to bolster their squads.
Dynasty Football Trades to Make Entering Week 7
Trade for Breece Hall
Look, Breece Hall is a top ten running back in the league. However, most running backs are held back by their situations. And if you watched the international game this past weekend, it could not be any clearer. The good news is Breece Hall is rumored to be on the trade block.
Regardless, Hall is an impending free agent, and the Jets do not appear to want to re-sign him. Hall is RB26 on the season, and many managers see what is coming for the Jets. Garrett Wilson’s absence for a few weeks could spell disaster for Hall. That is, unless a team decides to trade for him. Aaron Glenn and company have dismissed rumors this far, but the trade still feels like it is on the table, especially after Hall’s cryptic Instagram post.
Preferred destinations for a Hall trade from a dynasty perspective would be the Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders, or, of course, where we want everyone to go, the Kansas City Chiefs. The Los Angeles Chargers are also in need of a running back after the Omarion Hampton and Najee Harris injuries.
That spot would be good for his 2026 prospects, as they likely would not resign him. If I had to rank them, it would be Bears, Chiefs, Commanders, Chargers in that order. Regardless, I would be okay sending a late first-round pick to acquire Hall, as the talent is there; he needs a better spot.
Don’t Solely Focus on Winning the Trade
This season, I have noticed many managers focusing on winning trades from a value perspective. And while it is always nice to win a trade, I will admit that myself. However, winning the deal from a value perspective should not be your only focus. The focus should be on whether this trade aligns with my vision for the team’s future.
The next question is about value, as you want it to be reasonably fair. This piece of dynasty trade advice applies mainly to rebuilders who roster players like Courtland Sutton, Davante Adams, and Derrick Henry. You don’t want those players retiring from your roster. However, it is good for everyone to hear as they make dynasty trades at this point in the season.
Everything in dynasty leagues is situation-based. On the flip side, a contender with someone like Travis Hunter could trade him for someone more beneficial to their playoff aspirations. These things can go both ways. However, I see managers get too wrapped up in not making deals for the sole purpose of wanting to win them.
Your team’s improvement should be the primary focus, and while winning a trade would likely help achieve that. Sometimes, a close trade tailored to your team’s future would do the trick as well. That is just some food for thought as we continue to progress through the season.
Final Thoughts
When making dynasty trades, it is essential to be ahead of the curve. It is even tougher to do that today, given the growing popularity of dynasty leagues. And it is incredible for the game that we all love to play. Everyone has gotten sharper as they continue to gain experience. And again, it is fantastic to keep growing the game. Here’s to hoping it keeps growing and that managers will be making many more dynasty trades in the future, while continuing to expand the game to more and more people.
