NFL Week 11 Monday Night Football Preview

The Dallas Cowboys return from a bye week to continue their offensive dominance in Week 11. The Las Vegas Raiders have also gotten extra rest, last playing on Thursday. While you’ve had no trouble trusting Dallas’ players, there are still a lot of question marks in Vegas. With Jakobi Meyers gone, surely another WR will step up. But who should you start and sit on Monday Night Football?

Dallas Cowboys (-3.5) at Las Vegas Raiders O/U: 49.5

Clear Starts: Dak Prescott, Javonte Williams, CeeDee Lamb, Jake Ferguson, Ashton Jeanty, Brock Bowers, Brandon Aubrey

George Pickens – WR, Dallas Cowboys

There aren’t many players you can consider benching on the Cowboys. George Pickens really isn’t one of them either. As the PPR WR6 this season, he has undoubtedly been an asset. The only concern is his high-end upside and consistency since CeeDee Lamb returned from injury.

Pickens scored 33.4 PPR points in his first game without Lamb, though that was against an awful Bears defense. Just two weeks later, he had another 30+ point performance against the Panthers. Even with Lamb back, Pickens hasn’t scored fewer than 12 points since Week 1. Just because it hasn’t happened yet doesn’t mean it can’t. However, fantasy managers shouldn’t expect much different this week. The Raiders are not the most competitive team, but Dallas’s struggling defense keeps the offense willing to pass.

The targets in this offense are consistently going to four players – CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Jake Ferguson, and Javonte Williams. There won’t always be enough for everyone to feast, but they are all going to have a solid floor most weeks. Monday Night Football in Week 11 could be a blowout, but that’s never a given with this defense. Start Pickens every week and don’t look back.

Tre Tucker – WR, Las Vegas Raiders

While he’s not blowing anyone out of the water, Tre Tucker is having a career year. On pace for nearly 900 yards, he could challenge Brock Bowers for the team lead in receiving yards. Consistently drawing a solid target share and catching a whopping 73.9% of them, Tucker is a reliable guy in very deep leagues. The question becomes if you can trust him anywhere else.

Tucker is consistently playing 90%+ of Vegas’s offensive snaps and played all of them in Week 10. The play time is not a concern; it’s just the volume. We don’t know just yet how the targets will truly funnel after Jakobi Meyers was traded away at the deadline. A single game’s worth of stats on a short week and against one of the best defenses won’t tell us a lot.

It should come as no surprise that two of Tucker’s best receiving days this season came against bottom-10 WR defenses – the Commanders, Titans, and Colts. Against a putrid Washington secondary, Tucker exploded for 145 yards and 3 TDs on 9 targets. This week’s matchup against the Cowboys may come the closest to matching that yardage total. He may even score, too.

Against a great offense, with Meyers gone, and with consistent targets, Tucker could be a sneaky good FLEX play on Monday Night Football.

Tyler Lockett – WR, Las Vegas Raiders

In just his second game with the Raiders, Lockett led the team in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. He also set season-highs for all of those stats. Does this veteran still have something left in the tank?

It’s unlikely that this continues. Lockett has been in the league for over a decade and has been a reliable yet boring target. He may be a great veteran to have for a team but for your fantasy team, he’s truly a desperation play. Lockett played less than 60% of the Raiders’ snaps last week, but he made the most of them. Perhaps he will be a target hog when he’s on the field. If the last few seasons are any indication, there won’t be any rhyme or reason for his success.

Dallas is a great matchup in Week 11, but it’s hard to see Lockett offering your team anything at this point in the season. For what looked like a “boom” game last week, his ceiling is incredibly capped. With Geno Smith at QB, his floor may be low as well.

Dallas Cowboys D/ST

This is strictly a matchup play. The Cowboys defense might be the worst in the league, but they haven’t been useless in fantasy. Dallas put up 7 or more fantasy points three times, including two double-digit performances. The Cowboys DST scored a TD in both of those games, which is not predictable, though.

Geno Smith has done well against some of the league’s worst defenses, namely the Bears and Commanders. If you’re looking for a desperation play with a massive ceiling, this may not be the team for you. What they may offer is a decent floor. Smith has been sacked 27 times, 4th most in the league. He has also thrown 12 interceptions, 2nd most in the league.

The Raiders offense just isn’t good, but they could get going again with a healthy Brock Bowers. Last week’s game against an elite Broncos defense is not an indication of their true power. However, that high-end ceiling is not always going to emerge. Dallas also added Quinnen Williams at the trade deadline and is coming off a bye. They could post a respectable fantasy performance in Week 11. It’s unlikely you need a DST at this point in the week, but in case you needed some reassurance, this isn’t the worst spot in the world to play them.
