We’re now under 100 days from Opening Day!! The 2026 Dynasty Baseball Prospects: Daily Write-Up series turns to a hitter who already checked the “big league debut” box but still qualifies as a rookie heading into 2026. Coming in at #118 is Sal Stewart, a polished bat from the Reds system who reached Cincinnati in 2025 and immediately showed why his offensive profile translates.
Stewart is not the loudest tools player in this tier, but his feel to hit, plate discipline, and ability to impact the baseball give him a high-probability offensive foundation. With rookie eligibility intact and a clearer path to meaningful major league at-bats, he sits in a valuable middle ground for dynasty managers balancing upside with near-term usability.

Daily Baseball Write-Up Series #118 Sal Stewart
The Reds haven’t been shy about pushing their best young bats, and Sal Stewart’s 2025 debut validated that approach. At just 21, he stepped into a crowded Cincinnati lineup and did more than survive. He held his own against big-league pitching, showing that the offensive foundation that carried him through the minors translates at the highest level. Stewart remains rookie-eligible heading into 2026, but the early major league results matter, and if these rankings were being built today rather than earlier in the cycle, he would be pushing higher than this spot.
What stood out immediately was how professional the bat looked. Over a meaningful MLB sample, Stewart combined a mature approach with consistent contact quality, slashing .309/.383/.907 with 34 doubles, 20 homers, and a 151.9 wRC+. That production is loud on its own, but the underlying indicators support it. A 10.0 percent swinging-strike rate points to above-average bat-to-ball skill, while his 9.3 percent walk rate against a manageable 15.6 percent strikeout rate reflects advanced swing decisions for his age. He used the entire field without drifting into passive contact, and a healthy 26.3 percent line-drive rate helped fuel the batting average. That LD rate will likely normalize, but the approach gives him room to absorb regression without the profile collapsing.

The power plays now and still has room to grow. A .215 ISO at 21 with that much opposite-field usage is a strong signal, especially in Great American Ball Park. Stewart’s current batted-ball mix leans more ground ball than fly ball, but the 34 doubles suggest plenty of latent over-the-fence power as he continues to identify pitches he can lift and turn on. It is easy to see a path from 20 homers into the mid-20s without selling out contact or pushing the strikeout rate north. The way his spray profile and power work together keeps pitchers from simply living on the edges and daring him to pull.
There is also a sneaky athletic component that rounds out the fantasy profile. Seventeen stolen bases are not a cornerstone of his value, but for a corner infielder they matter. As pitchers and catchers adjust, that total likely settles into the 10 to 15 range annually, still meaningful category juice paired with average and power. Defensively, Stewart profiles as a corner bat, but the offensive skill set is portable and good enough to keep him in the lineup wherever the Reds need him.
The one mild caution is the elevated line-drive rate, which tends to regress as pitchers adjust and contact profiles normalize. A step back in batting average would not be surprising. Even so, Stewart’s plate discipline, all-fields damage, and age-adjusted performance give him multiple paths to value, and Cincinnati’s park and lineup context help cushion any modest dip.
Fantasy Outlook
In dynasty formats, Stewart looks like a long-term fixture at the corner infield with a high offensive floor. You are betting on strong batting averages, OBP-friendly plate skills, and power that should settle comfortably in the 22 to 28 home run range as he matures. The added steals push him into five-category relevance in roto leagues, while his BB-to-K profile plays especially well in points formats. Expect pitchers to test him more aggressively in year two, but even with some adjustment baked in, the skill set is stable. If there is any buying window left, it is likely narrow. Stewart’s debut mattered, and his next ranking update is more likely to reflect upward movement than regression.
