Welcome to the Week 16 Fantasy QB Rankings! As we plunge into the Semi-Finals (or Round Two for some fantasy leagues), the stakes are higher than a reindeer’s flight path on Christmas Eve. We are here to help you navigate the chaos with the latest Fantasy Football Quarterback Rankings Week 16 analysis.

And in this chaos, a question inevitably pops up in group chats and on sports debates: Is Die Hard a Christmas movie? The answer is a resounding “No.” Christmas is merely the setting, not the plot. The random holiday songs and quotes sprinkled in are like throwing a festive bow on a nuclear action flick. It’s a nice touch, but I’m not buying it.
Similarly, I’m not buying into some of the name-brand Quarterbacks who got us here but are currently sporting a ‘Danger Zone’ label. We need to be like John McClane: sharp, focused on the immediate threat, and not afraid to pivot when the game script demands it.
Sometimes you don’t want to get too cute. Other times, the path to the championship involves benching the player with the prestigious name for the one who is producing now or who has the clear, undeniable matchup edge. The margin for error is gone. Play the hot hand, exploit the weaknesses, and make the best possible decision to advance.
Before we dive into the latest Week 16 Fantasy QB Rankings 2025, let’s take a look back at the Week 15 carnage.

🔙 Looking Back: What Week 15 Taught Us About the Quarterback Rankings
Week 15 brought a mix of holiday miracles and season-ending fruitcakes, heavily impacting the Week 16 Quarterback Rankings.
Trevor Lawrence (QB2) absolutely nuked the competition, going off for a sky-high 44.3 fantasy points, easily outpacing the QB2 for the week, Bo Nix, who put up a career-high 29.1 fantasy points. The moral of the story: when a great talent meets a great matchup, you start him.
Kirk Cousins (QB18) gave us a vintage performance, dicing up a secondary to the tune of 26.9 fantasy points on his way to a game-winning drive to beat Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers last week. If you were desperate, the veteran came through with a massive, season-saving outing.
On the other end of the spectrum, we had some real Christmas stinkers: Joe Burrow (QB10) let down fantasy managers after two incredible games, delivering a miserable 7.5 fantasy points against a tough Ravens defense. While you can choose to be mad at Burrow, remember that a lot of fantasy managers are only in the playoffs because of his previous two games, where he lit the world on fire. I expect a bounce-back from Burrow and the Bengals this week in a juicy matchup.
Rookie Shedeur Sanders (QB28) went from here to zero, achieving only 6.5 fantasy points after finishing as the QB2 last week. Give the Colorado product some time—all rookies need to go through dry spells. He has a tough matchup this week versus Buffalo, but at home, he should be able to get some garbage-time fantasy production, making him a decent deep-league or Superflex option.
And finally, the injury curse struck again. Justin Herbert (QB24) cannot get over his recent hand injury, which required surgery, only producing 11.4 fantasy points and finishing as the QB27. His ceiling is capped until he is fully healthy, but a favorable matchup against Dallas makes him an intriguing dice roll this week. This is precisely why we consult the Week 16 Fantasy QB Rankings 2025.
🔥 High-Total Games (47+)
These matchups carry real shootout juice — ideal for stacking top-tier QBs and leaning into upside.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Miami Dolphins — O/U 50.5
Joe Burrow (QB8) — This is his “get-right” spot. The total is sky-high and he should be in full-on pass-heavy mode in Miami. I’m trusting the previous two outings before last week’s clunker over last week’s dud. Lock him in as a QB1 with a massive ceiling.
Tua Tagovailoa (QB26) — Tua had an abysmal showing last Monday against the Steelers, and Head Coach Mike McDaniel said that everything is on the table in terms of who will start this week at quarterback for the Dolphins. If Tua starts, I think he could be a viable option in two-quarterback leagues as a desperation play against a soft Bengals defense.
Los Angeles Chargers @ Dallas Cowboys — O/U 49.5
Dak Prescott (QB3) — Despite a tough game last week, Dak has been incredible this season and still has his full complement of weapons. The Chargers defense has been stellat this season, but the sheer volume and red-zone efficiency keep him in the elite tier. A must-start QB1.
Justin Herbert (QB10) — His rank is a reflection of the hand injury that’s clearly sapping his ability to push the ball downfield. However, in a potential shootout against a defense that can be beaten, the volume will be there. He’s a calculated dice-roll; a low-end QB1 with upside if he can push past the residual pain.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Detroit Lions — O/U 49.5
Jared Goff (QB4) — At home, in a dome, with a high total, Goff is always a strong play. The Lions are built to score, and Goff is the efficient engine of the offense. He’s a safe, high-end QB1 with clear upside thanks to the environment.
Aaron Rodgers (QB18) — Rodgers should have to keep up with the explosive Detroit Lions in the dome, making him a volume-driven play. He should end up with low-end QB2 numbers with upside if the game stays close.
New England Patriots @ Baltimore Ravens — O/U 48.5
Lamar Jackson (QB9) — Lamar has not been himself since coming back from a hamstring injury, and he draws a tough game at home against the Patriots, where he should have to pull out all the stops to get the victory. His rushing floor keeps him in the QB1 conversation, but temper expectations. A volatile but weekly QB1.
Drake Maye (QB5) — The sophomore quarterback who has been having an MVP-caliber season. He should have no issues providing high-end QB1 numbers against the Ravens this week.
Atlanta Falcons @ Arizona Cardinals — O/U 47.5
Jacoby Brissett (QB6) — Brissett has finished as the QB1 in nine straight weeks and should have no issues providing high-end QB1 numbers at home against the Falcons this week. The Falcons are a good matchup to exploit through the air. A reliable QB1.
Kirk Cousins (QB21) — Cousins has an excellent matchup in Arizona and should have no issues providing QB2 numbers.
Los Angeles Rams @ Seattle Seahawks — O/U 47.5
Matthew Stafford (QB15) — A divisional rivalry with a high total is a recipe for a solid Stafford performance. He’s a smart QB who can pick apart a middle-of-the-road Seahawks secondary. A serviceable low-end QB1/high-end QB2 even in a tough matchup on the road.
Sam Darnold (QB25) — Darnold has been less than stellar over the past few weeks and draws a tough matchup against the Rams. A low-end QB2/high-end QB3, playable only in two-QB leagues.
⚖️ Mid-Range Games (44–47)
Balanced games — could turn into shootouts or defensive slugfests depending on the script.
San Francisco 49ers @ Indianapolis Colts — O/U 46.5
Brock Purdy (QB7) — Purdy’s elite efficiency in a Kyle Shanahan system keeps him near the top, especially after last week’s explosion against the Titans. A confident mid-range QB1.
Philip Rivers (QB31) — Old Man Rivers almost pulled off the upset victory last week, and he will try to upset the 49ers next week, but he is still strictly a desperation Hail Mary play. The Colts will lean on Jonathan Taylor, severely limiting his ceiling.
Green Bay Packers @ Chicago Bears — O/U 46.5
Jordan Love (QB17) — The volatility is real, but the upside is too. He gets a beatable Bears defense on the road. He slots in as a mid QB2 with QB1 upside if this game turns into a track meet.
Caleb Williams (QB16) — Williams has all the playmaking ability in the world, but the Bears’ recent offensive struggles suppress his ceiling.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Carolina Panthers — O/U 45.5
Baker Mayfield (QB11) — Baker is typically a safe, stabilizing option. The total is modest, but this divisional matchup in a must-win game should allow for a solid floor.
Bryce Young (QB22) — Young is boom-or-bust, but like Baker, Young needs to win to stay in playoff contention. Low-end QB2 with upside.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Washington Commanders — O/U 45.5
Jalen Hurts (QB1) — Hurts predictably bounced back last week after an abysmal Week 14 showing, and now faces one of the softest defenses in the league. The goal-line role and rushing volume make him bulletproof. He is an automatic, locked-in QB1 and a league winner in this spot.
Marcus Mariota (QB24) — Mariota’s rushing ability gives him a strong fantasy floor, but this is a tough matchup on the road. He’s volatile, but the mobility and guaranteed volume in a trailing script make him a QB2 with decent upside.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Denver Broncos — O/U 45.5
Trevor Lawrence (QB14) — Lawrence just dropped 44 fantasy points and is playing with immense confidence. Don’t overthink this: he is playing at altitude, but the offense is humming. He is an easy top-15 play.
Bo Nix (QB12) — Nix’s potent run/pass versatility should be on full display against a hot Jaguars team. His clean decision-making and rushing upside keep him firmly in the low-end QB1 mix.
Minnesota Vikings @ New York Giants — O/U 44.5
J.J. McCarthy (QB19) — The rookie bounced back last week and now gets a beatable Giants secondary. He still carries volatility, but the upside is there.
Jaxson Dart (QB13) — Dart continues to flash immense potential. While the matchup is tough, his dual-threat ability provides a solid fantasy floor, keeping him firmly in the low-end QB1 mix.
❄️ Low-Total Games (Under 44)
Games that project slow and defensive — limit QB upside. Trust the elites, but temper expectations for everyone else.
Buffalo Bills @ Cleveland Browns — O/U 42.5
Josh Allen (QB2) — Allen is as matchup-proof as they come, even in this tough environment. The rushing floor remains massive.
Shedeur Sanders (QB28) — The Bills defense is a brutal welcome to the league. However, the anticipated negative game script at home means the volume will be there in the second half. He is strictly a desperate Superflex-only play who relies entirely on garbage-time production.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Tennessee Titans — O/U 41.5
Gardner Minshew (QB27) — With Patrick Mahomes (knee) officially out for the season, “Minshew Mania” is officially back! Minshew could be serviceable, but the low total and tough environment limit his ceiling. He is a low-end QB2/high-end QB3 who needs volume to pay off, and you are starting him only if you are desperate.
Cam Ward (QB29) — Rough spot. On the road against a defense that can be stifling, Ward is strictly an emergency play. Low floor, low ceiling.
New York Jets @ New Orleans Saints — O/U 40.5
Tyler Shough (QB23) — At home in the dome, Shough has some streaming viability, but the low total hints at a capped ceiling. He’s startable in single-QB leagues only if you’re forced to.
Brady Cook (QB30) — Cook offers a very limited passing ceiling. Strictly a desperation or Superflex-only play.
Las Vegas Raiders @ Houston Texans — O/U 38.5
C.J. Stroud (QB20) — Stroud’s upside is undeniable, and the Raiders have exploitable coverage weaknesses. Even with a low total, he has a path to a spike week. Consider him a low-end QB2 with high-end QB2 upside.
Kenny Pickett (QB32) — Pickett’s low ceiling, low total, and tough road spot all point to a bench-level play.
