Week 17 Dynasty Football Trade Suggestions

Dynasty and fantasy championships are quickly approaching as Week 17 gets underway on Christmas Day, and this is the last opportunity for dynasty managers to make real moves until the offseason. It’s hopefully for locking in those championships, or it could be for accumulating the last bit of draft capital.

As we all know, the value of picks will only go up from this point on. So, this is the last chance this season to make moves of any kind. I suggested a few names over the past couple of weeks to varying success. This week, I will recommend two dynasty trade targets for the rebuilders so that they will have two names to trade for in the offseason.

Week 17 Dynasty Football Trade Targets

Rebuilders

Trade for Tre’ Harris

The breakout for Tre’ Harris is coming. And that is why he is a prime dynasty trade target. He just had his highest yard total of the season with 54 yards on four receptions. And has received great praise from the coaches. Greg Roman applauded his performance against the Kansas City Chiefs. So Harris is getting the recognition he deserves and is excelling beyond the box score. Against zone coverage, Harris has the fourth-highest PFF grade and the eighth-highest yards per route run among the rookie class. If you took out the receivers with fewer than 10 targets against the coverage, Harris would be fourth.

All Harris needs for him to have a true breakout is some playing time to open up. And with Keenan Allen signed for only 2025, taking over for him is the most logical option. Harris’s dynasty value on most calculators is a late second-round pick. Which, in my opinion, is not enough. It will likely take an early second-round pick and another piece. Isaac TeSlaa would be the perfect player to attach that pick to.

Harris had a stellar profile coming out of college. He was first in yards per route run in the class at three yards per route. And was exceptional against both man and zone coverage at Ole Miss. Harris is showing enough at the pro level. Suppose you wanted him over a late first-round pick in this class. I wouldn’t be opposed to making that trade in dynasty either.

Harris is showing enough at the pro level to encourage promise for 2026 and beyond. He is in a great situation with Justin Herbert, a good offensive line, and other offensive pieces to take the attention away from him. If I were a rebuilder, I would be trying to trade for him in dynasty before Keenan Allen departs in the offseason, and this might be the last chance before then.

Trade for Travis Hunter

Less than a year ago, Hunter was the number two overall pick in the NFL draft. And he was almost impossible to trade for in dynasty. Now, he seems to be the odd man out in Jacksonville. Brian Thomas Jr. was a first-round pick last season, Jakobi Myers just signed a three-year extension, and Parker Washington is a promising third option. And that leaves Hunter as a likely option in the cornerback room. The wise thing to do would be to capitalize on this panic. NFL offseasons are long, and the team invested a ton into Hunter.

The worst part is that he started figuring it out right before the injury. During the game in London against the Los Angeles Rams, he had eight catches on 14 targets and a touchdown. And had all of the makings of someone that you could run your offense through, despite that game being a blowout.

Now, his stock is at an all-time low. An early second pick could be enough in a trade if the manager is looking to move him. At this point, a late first in value would definitely get a deal done with the prospects of Hunter. The only thing that could save Hunter’s value is a Brian Thomas Jr. trade. And many think it won’t come, which means Hunter will be a dynasty trade target for me this offseason.

Final Thoughts

Between the two, I would much rather trade for Harris than Hunter. Harris was not an early first-round pick in any drafts, while Hunter had his fair share of hype. Hunter even went as early as the second pick in some drafts.

That is where the variables come into play. Some will go along with the sunk cost fallacy, where they used such high draft capital in dynasty on Hunter, and will not give up on him. Granted, this season could end differently for Harris, with a breakout performance in these last two weeks and change his value heading into the offseason. However, these are both great dynasty trade targets for teams that need wide receiver talent and don’t happen to have a top-four pick to get one of the top three wide receivers in the class. With one week to go, I wish everyone the best of luck as we head into the offseason. And I appreciate everyone who has been reading along for these last 17 weeks.
