Pervis Estupinan
Position: Defender
Team: Brighton
Rostered: 37%
Next Fixture: Leicester (Away)
Prospects: The tricky wingback has not reached last season’s Cucurella levels yet, but this Brighton team is quickly becoming one of those in form sides from which virtually all 11 starters in real life need to be started in Fantasy too. Even “casuals” took notice of Brighton after the comprehensive pounding they gave Liverpool last weekend, so I do not expect to see many of their players in the under 40% category much longer. Estupinan had a very decent looking 5 ghost points against Liverpool after his 8.8 in GW19 so even if they somehow concede you could be looking at a decent score. Leicester, Bournemouth and Palace in the next three look like opponents this in-form Brighton juggernaut should roll over, so Estupinan should prove to be a decent short term pickup.
Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0-3 FAB to get him.
Mohamed Elyounoussi
Position: Midfielder
Team: Southampton
Rostered: 13%
Next Fixture: Aston Villa (Home)
Prospects: It looks like some positive changes are afoot on the south coast and Southampton will not go down without a fight. Employing JWP in the number 10 role seem to be elevating the attack and attacking players with it. It is therefore no surprise that we have Elyounousi projected to score 8.1 this weekend at home against Villa. He is by no means guaranteed to bring home the bacon, but if you need to inject an upside midfielder into your lineup, Momo could be your guy.
Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 0 FAB to get him.
Wilfred Gnonto
Position: Forward
Team: Leeds
Ownership: 25%
Next Fixture: Brentford (Home)
Prospects: We have been long-time fans of the diminutive Italian forward, so it is no surprise to see him feature in my Waiver Wire article. He has been decent for fantasy but possibly even better in real life since he got into the starting XI. He seems to be everywhere in Leeds’ fluid attack. A minimal touch by his teammate robbed him of an assist last weekend, but 6 points is not that bad from an otherwise return dependent forward. Leeds are injecting some much-needed talent into their attack with the signing of Georgino Rutter from Hoffenheim and they are expecting Sinisterra to be in the squad for the weekend, and while new pieces might result in less minutes for Gnonto, the overall upgrade in attack will elevate his game to, in my opinion become a season-long hold as a FWD3 at the worst.
Verdict: I would use a low-end waiver claim or 5-7 FAB to get him.
