EPL Fantasy Draft Forward Rankings are out just in time for your EPL draft!
Winning soccer games is about scoring goals. Forwards are there to score goals. Goals are the most valuable stat in most Fantrax EPL leagues. So, EPL Fantrax Managers need a quality forward or two to vie for a league win. However, top forwards are limited and will go fast in many EPL fantasy drafts.

Traits of Quality EPL Fantasy Draft Forwards
Last season’s top-scoring forward didn’t score the most goals. The top EPL scorer, Erling Haaland, ranked second in forwards and sixth overall. Ollie Watkins was the top Fantrax-scoring forward due to his goals and league-leading 18 assists. Ideally, you’re picking forwards who can score goals and put up points in other ways. Only two forwards scored more than 20 goals, with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak joining Haaland. Isak ranked just 24th overall and 8th amongst forwards. It’s not enough just to score goals. Mo Salah and Son Heung-Min, both top 10 scoring finishers, offer more than just goals too.
Besides goals and assists, managers should focus on a few key things. First, high-value forwards should be their team’s designated penalty kick taker. This is a sure way to get additional goals. Know who takes these on each team, as you prepare for the EPL Fantasy Draft. Managers should also be looking at forwards who have a starting spot locked up. There won’t be a lot of options on the waiver wire, and those who are there will be sought after, so you want some consistency.
Lastly, many forwards may rely primarily and understandably on goals for their points. This sometimes limits consistent high points week in and week out, but they also can score huge points for managers in a single game week. You need these performances to win weeks too.
The Season Ahead
Outside of the top 5 or so forwards, I have a lot of questions about who many EPL managers will be relying on for consistent goals upfront. Haaland should be a top pick in most leagues, with only Bakayo Saka being in the conversation. Salah and Son are each a year older, and both have questions about what players around them will do. Aston Villa had a great season, but can they and Ollie Watkins repeat that feat, especially with key supporting players leaving? All of these are still solid picks. Trust your gut.
