It’s the EPL Waiver Wire week 18 Boxing Day edition! There will be lots of games in quick succession. So be ready!
Week 17 suggestion Jacob Murphy has been one of the best-scoring players over the last three weeks. If he’s still available grab him. Martin Dubravka and Newcastle continue to play solid. Harry Wilson couldn’t capitalize on these chances, but Fulham did keep a clean sheet.
I expect rotation, so have your roster ready to adjust. Managers should also be thinking about the games coming on Sunday and Monday. Plan for weeks 18 and 19 as you move forward with your selections.
Week 18 EPL Waiver wire suggestions (under 50% rostered) are listed in order from most to least rostered.
Week 18 Fantasy EPL Draft Waiver Wire
Niclas Füllkrug – Forward – 46% Rostered – Southampton vs West Ham
Füllkrug was West Ham’s big summer signing. He got his first start in week 17, without much to show for it. It will take a little time to get back into form, but he’s a true goal-scorer. Southampton have conceded five goals in their preceding two home games. Füllkrug and his teammates should have chances. I’m looking at Hammers players on both sides of the ball this week on the EPL Waiver Wire.
João Félix – Forward – 27% Rostered – Chelsea vs Fulham
Second-place Chelsea had their five-game win streak snapped with a 0-0 draw to Everton. Chelsea has just two losses this season, to Liverpool and to Manchester City. Félix has a goal and an assist this season, while mostly coming off the bench. When he has started, he’s returned good points. Based on rotation and a scoreless team effort vs Everton, Félix should get a start in one of the next two games. He’s worth grabbing as they have two decent fixtures, and he should start at least one.
Dean Huijsen – Defender – 22% Rostered – Bournemouth vs Crystal Palace
Bournemouth have won four of five (and drew the other), and currently sit in 5th place. I’m not sure how Huijsen is still open is this many leagues after his last four games. In two of his last four games, he had a clean sheet and a goal, for massive defender points, and in the other two games, he returned solid points. Marcos Senesi will be out for an extended period, meaning Huijsen should continue to start. It’s not a bad matchup either. I’m going to keep recommending him on the EPL waiver wire.
Goncalo Guedes – Forward – 11% Rostered – Wolves vs Manchester United
Guedes had a goal and assist in the much-needed Wolves win over Leicester. He now has back-to-back games with assists, bringing his total to four assists and two goals on the season. Opponents Man United have given up nine goals in their last four, with just a single win and three losses. Wolves need the wins to climb out of the relegation zone. Guedes has been a spark.
Keep up team news. Follow the matchups.
Have fun. Good luck!
