Here we are with the season finally underway. There have already been pitching injuries, surprise performances, and those newfangled torpedo bats. By the time you read this, you will likely be entering your second or third matchup of the season. And very likely, you will be looking for some pitching streamers to help you win your next matchup. Below, you will find some of my favorites.
Pitching Streamers Available in Some Leagues (Over 30% Rostered)
Dustin May (SP – LAD)
Next Start: Monday, 4/7 at WAS
Dustin May showed his electric stuff in his first start of the season, dominating Atlanta for five innings. He looks as good as ever – just take a look at this:

He takes on Washington in his next start, a team expected to be among the bottom half of offensive production. So far, that has been the case.
The Nationals own the seventh-worst run differential early in the season, striking out the sixth most, with the highest strikeout percent. They also possess the third highest groundball rate, which is a great setup for May, who is an excellent groundball pitcher. His career GB rate is 50%.
This is a perfect matchup for May if he is available, and he should be one of the top pitching streamers added this week. He may be hard to find on waivers after this game.
Gavin Williams (SP – CLE)
Next Start: Thursday, 4/10 vs CWS
Surprisingly, the White Sox are not at the bottom of the league in offense early in the season, after finishing last season as one of the worst teams in the history of the league. Still, this is a great matchup for Gavin Williams.
Williams pitched relatively well in a tough matchup against Kansas City in his season opener, striking out two and walking one. He also allowed two earned runs across five innings, but gets a much better matchup against Chicago.
Early this season, Williams has adjusted his pitch mix, featuring a fastball, curveball, and sweeper. He flashed these adjustments in spring, and they have clearly paid off:
Gavin Williams was someone I was preaching to buy-low last season and this offseason and he showed why this spring.

Williams has the type of stuff to induce strikeouts, and improved his walk rate from last season. He should be able to avoid walks in this matchup, limit baserunners, and improve his K% in a favorable matchup.
Make him one of your top pitching streamers where available.
Widely Available Pitching Streamers (0%-30% Rostered)
Will Warren (SP – NYY)
Next Start: Sunday, 4/6 at PIT
Will Warren pitched well in spring, earning a spot in the rotation for the Yankees. He makes for a good pitching streamer in his upcoming matchup with a struggling Pittsburgh offense.
The Pirates have the eighth-worst run differential (as of writing this), also possessing the seventh most strikeouts as batters, along with the 10th worst strikeout rate, plus the seventh worst groundball rate, and the eighth-fewest home runs as an offense.
Pittsburgh’s offensive struggles this season, coupled with playing away from hitter-friendly Yankee Stadium, should bode well for the young starter.
This is an opportunity for fantasy managers to snag a widely available pitching streamer who could turn into a rotation mainstay.
Logan Allen (SP – CLE)
Next Start: Tuesday, 4/8 vs CWS
Tuesday’s slate of streamers is a bit thin, and one of the best matchups features Cleveland’s Logan Allen against the White Sox.
He had a rough go against San Diego in his first game, and unlike some of the other players listed here, Allen should be viewed strictly as a streamer in favorable matchups. This is one of those matchups.
Allen has some solid stuff – he featured three pitches with a whiff rate over 20% last season. He also clearly dealt with some bad home run luck last season, which carried over in his game against the Padres.
The White Sox present a much less daunting opponent, and that should provide fantasy managers with some confidence. He should be considered as one of your pitching streamers for the matchup ahead.
Erick Fedde (SP – STL)
Next Start: Wednesday, 4/9 at PIT
Erick Fedde may have one of the best matchups this week, going against the Pirates, arguably one of the worst offenses in baseball.
As of writing, they have the eighth worst run differential, the seventh most strikeouts, the 10th worst K%, the seventh worst groundball rate, and the eighth fewest home runs.
This is an excellent matchup for Fedde, who is a low strikeout pitcher and typically a high walk pitcher. He should get some help to improve both of those categories in this game. Fedde also has been improving his home run rate every year since 2020, so he should be able to avoid the long ball in this one. The veteran also does well at inducing grounders, and faces an offense that hits them at a high rate.
Fedde looked great in his season debut against Minnesota and is in line for another opportunity at a quality start here. He should be on fantasy managers’ radars as one of the top pitching streamers for this week and beyond.
Mitchell Parker (SP – WAS)
Next Start: Friday, 4/11 at MIA
Much like the White Sox, the Marlins are not horrible at anything, but they are not great at anything either. This bodes well for Mitchell Parker, who shut out the Phillies in his first start this season.
Surprisingly, Miami ranks second in its division, but still has a negative run differential. The Marlins also have the 10th most strikeouts as a team. Parker finished with a 7.9 K/9 rate last season, but carried double-digit K/9 rates through the minors. He has strikeout stuff, so this could be a game where we see him tap into it.
Parker has a wicked splitter/slider combination that he put on display last season. Those pitches had 36% and 37% whiff rates, respectively, last season. Take a look at him embarrassing Brandon Marsh on a wipeout slider:

Any fantasy managers in need of pitching streamers for Friday should look no further than Parker.
