Week 15 Hitting Planner for Fantasy Baseball

Summer and the second half of the 2025 MLB season are upon us as we flip the calendar to July. We have a little bit of everything this week, including a holiday weekend to navigate. While this is a weekly column, it can also help fantasy baseball managers who can make multiple times per week, including those in daily leagues. So, without any further ado, here is the Week 15 Fantasy Baseball Hitting Planner.

Week 15 Schedule Notes

The total number of games played is the same this week compared to last, with just the slightest bump to Thursday’s slate. Week 14 featured nine games played on both Monday and Thursday, while Week 15 has eight on Monday and 10 on Thursday. The biggest difference this week compared to last is in the timing of the games, specifically on Friday. Because of the Fourth of July holiday, not only are there day games on Friday, but the start times are staggered all over the place. Washington hosts Boston at 11:05 AM EST. Following that are games started at 1:05, 2:20, 3:10, and 4:10 before the rest of the games go off in the evening. If you are in a league where each team locks at or around first pitch of their particular game, you will have to pay attention to lineup announcements throughout the day.

Week 15 Starting Pitching Matchup Notes

Any team that plays the Colorado Rockies gets a matchup bump, and this week is no exception. This week, the lucky teams are the Houston Astros and the Chicago White Sox. Both Houston and Chicago face the Dodgers in their other series this week. The Dodgers can be a tough matchup. However, it is worth pointing out that the Dodgers have the sixth-highest team ERA during the month of June. Astros rookie Cam Smith has picked up his play of late and has hit cleanup in three of Houston’s last four games versus right-handed pitching. Fantasy managers should continue to rely on the rookie in Week 15. None of the White Sox hitters have been especially hot lately, but three games in Colorado should keep most of their regular hitters afloat. Mike Tauchman gets the biggest bump since the Rockies should roll out three right-handed starters in their series.

The San Francisco Giants should also get a boost this week. They play seven games against Arizona and the Athletics. Both teams rank in the bottom six in terms of ERA this season. San Francisco has scuffled offensively lately, but they should turn things around this week. The lowest team ratings in the Week 15 hitting planner go to the pair of Ohio teams. Cincinnati faces Garrett Crochet and Zach Wheeler among its six games on this week’s schedule. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Guardians are set to face Tarik Skubal on Saturday. Cleveland also faces the Chicago Cubs, which is a slightly below-average matchup. The games are at Wrigley Field, so weather patterns may have a greater impact on the matchups each day than the pitchers themselves will.

Week 15 Ballpark Effects Notes

There are only eight teams who play split home/road series in Week 15. None of the six teams that play seven games this week play split weeks. Arizona, Seattle, and Toronto all get seven at their respective home parks. Of the three, Arizona has the best hitting conditions from a ballpark perspective, with Seattle having the worst. Kansas City, the New York Yankees, and San Francisco play seven away from home. In addition to having favorable matchups based on starting pitching, the Giants also get a big ballpark boost in Week 15. There are only seven MLB parks with a park factor above 100 for both left and right-handed hitters based on the metrics below. This week, San Francisco will play in two of them when they head to Chase Field in Arizona and Sutter Health Park in Sacramento.

Colorado gets six games at home in Week 15. As touched on earlier, that is more likely to enhance their opponents’ hitting prospects than their own. However, I don’t mind starting some Rockies bats this week in the hopes they get into a slugfest or two. The New York Mets probably have the worst hitting conditions of the teams that host six games. And their matchups are less than ideal. New York is likely to face Freddy Peralta, rookie phenom Jacob Misiorowski, Carlos Rodon, and Max Fried. Even with those obstacles standing in their way, however, I cannot imagine many scenarios where you are benching any of their top four hitters. Fringe hitters like Jeff McNeil or Brett Baty are tougher calls and more reliant on your other options, especially with the Mets facing three southpaws.
