Week 7 DraftKings NFL Prop Plays: Maye’s Breaking Out

Let’s keep the momentum going. There are positive vibes all around with another 2-1 week. Kimani Vidal made his player prop look silly as he smashed it three times over, while Jonathan Taylor had another strong week. Jake Ferguson had a surprisingly quiet week, which left us substantially short of a perfect week. It was a strong process, though, so now, let’s dig into our Week 7 NFL Prop Plays on DraftKings.

Week 7 NFL Prop Plays (DraftKings)

Drake Maye Over 232.5 Passing Yards (-112)

At first glance, this seems like a slam dunk. We know it’s not that easy, though, because if it were, why would you even need to read what I have to say? In this case, with Drake Maye’s passing prop, I’m saying that it is.

So far this season, Maye is averaging 254 passing yards per game. That puts him squarely over his player prop for Week 7, and I’m expecting him to surpass it.

It has been a successful sophomore season for Maye, and he’s up to 1,522 passing yards. Maye has hit his player prop in four of six games this season, and in one of those games, he missed by just three yards. Over the last two games, Maye has seemingly kicked things up a notch with 273 and 261 passing yards, respectively. The Tennessee Titans shouldn’t offer up much in the way of resistance as Maye has another strong game.

We’re beginning to see a true comfort level from Maye and his receivers, and it continues this week.

Justin Fields Over 40.5 Rushing Yards (-113)

At this point, it’s unknown whether or not the New York Jets will actually win a football game. Their offense is not very good. In fact, when you factor in sacks, Justin Fields actually passed for -10 net yards. That takes misery to a new level.

And now, with Garrett Wilson out, the Jets’ passing situation has become even more dire. Fields is truly left with next to nothing from a target perspective. He’s already been holding the ball too long, and now with Wilson out, things aren’t going to get easier. The hypothesis here is that he’ll still hold the ball too long, but he’s going to look to escape the pocket.

Fields is averaging 47 rushing yards per game, which puts him over his player prop for Week 7 with some yards to spare. In the last two games, Fields has fallen short of his mark, but we’re looking for that to revert back this week. The Jets are going to have to play conservatively, as, quite honestly, they don’t have the ability to do anything more.

Tua Tagovalioa Under 191.5 Passing Yards (-111)

I don’t want to do it. There’s nothing exciting about taking and then rooting for the under. Sometimes, though, it becomes necessary. There are many factors to consider, and in this case, it’s the weather.

The forecast for Sunday is calling for winds up to 50-60 miles per hour. Last I checked, passing and running an offense in those conditions is less than ideal. Tua Tagovalioa doesn’t have the strongest of arms to begin with, but the wind is an obstacle that’s going to play a large part in the game.

With an average of 202 passing yards per game, this is going to run right down to the wire. Tagovalioa also doesn’t have an ideal matchup as the Browns allow just 183 passing yards per game.
