Betting PGA outright winners is equal parts art and data, but sustainable success always starts with the numbers. With the 2026 PGA Tour season tipping off at Waialae for the Sony Open in just two weeks, the focus shifts to players whose long-term stat trends, ball-striking foundation, and course adaptability translate to real tournament-winning equity. This preview cuts through narrative noise to highlight the golfers who not only can win in 2026 but offer the most compelling value to bettors willing to strike early in the outright market.

Before we get into the players who are on my outright betting radar this season, let’s dive into some stats and trends that can help guide us to victory. Like 2024, last season gave us 35 different winners on the PGA Tour, which is actually the fourth-most over the last seven seasons. Three times we have seen 40 or more wins (2023, 2021, 2019), and just once in that time have we seen fewer than 30, and that was the shortened 2020 COVID season.
2025 was also the sixth straight season that there have been at least six players win multiple tournaments, with Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy pulling it off in four straight seasons. Only four other players have multiple wins across that six-year timeframe. They are Xander Schauffele (3), Hideki Matsuyama (2), Collin Morikawa (2), and Patrick Cantlay (2). Winning is hard!
It’s now time to jump in and take a look at some players who are primed to hoist a trophy in 2026. I won’t bore you with write-ups on the elite players who are going to provide short odds, but rather look to players who should provide us some excellent outright betting value.
Players Primed to Win
Cameron Young
In his fourth full-time season in 2025, Young broke through with a dominating six-stroke win at the Wyndham Championship, leading into the FedEx Cup Playoffs. He also set career- highs in Top 10’s(8) and Top 25’s(12).
The strength of his game has always been off the tee, where he has ranked 35th or better in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee in each of his four seasons. Where he took the biggest leap in 2025 was with the flat stick as he finished 7th overall last year after finishing outside the Top 145 each of the previous two seasons.
With an elite off-the-tee game, if he can even come close to how he putted last year, we could see a second win coming in 2026, and he is on my short list for multi-win players, as well.
Garrick Higgo
Another player who took a huge leap in 2025 was Garrick Higgo. He not only picked up a second career win(Corales Puntacana Championship) but also tallied five Top 10 finishes, a mark that matched his previous four years combined.
Like Young, the biggest difference for Higgo was on the green as he finished 6th in Strokes Gained: Putting after not finishing in the Top 80 in any previous year. I absolutely love his upside, provided he can continue to putt above Tour average, as there is a lot of room for growth with the irons, as he has yet to finish a season with a positive Strokes Gained: Approach. An improvement in that area should have him contending at some bigger events in 2026.
Keegan BradleyÂ
Even as a 39-year-old veteran, Bradley is a player who should always be on our short lists for outright betting due to his elite ball-striking skills. He comes into 2026 with wins in each of the last three seasons and now has eight total wins in his career.
That elite ball striking has more than made up for a below-average around-the-green and putting profile. It also elevated him to the Top 10 on tour when looking at Strokes Gained: Tee to Green(+1.037)in 2025. It was the first time he had gained more than a stroke against the field for a season since 2021 and only the third time since 2018. Due to the inconsistency around and on the green, his outright numbers generally provide us with terrific value, another reason he is consistently on my betcard. I don’t see the career regression hitting quite yet, so expect to see him in my weekly articles again in 2026.
Longshots Ready for Win #1
Rico Hoey
After a terrific rookie season in 2024 that saw Hoey tally four Top 10’s and nine Top 25’s, he only got better in 2025. He tallied six Top 10’s, 12 Top 25’s, and for the second straight year came so close to that first win with a runner-up finish.
He was elite both off the tee(3rd in SG: OTT) and with his irons(8th in SG: APP), putting him 2nd to only Scottie Scheffler in ball striking. The only thing that kept him from contending in more events and possibly winning was the around-the-green (110th in SG: ATG) and putting(180th). Even with just slight improvements in those categories, we could see him in the spotlight on Sunday a lot this season, and he is a guy who should provide us great value early on with some mid to high outright numbers.
Johnny Keefer
Johnny Keefer’s path to professional golf has been nothing short of dominant. After setting the career strokes-gained average record at Baylor, Keefer turned pro in 2024 and immediately took over PGA Tour Americas, posting a win, four runner-ups, and nine top-10 finishes in just 10 events.
The momentum didn’t stop there as he moved up to the Korn Ferry Tour, racking up two victories, nine top-10s, and 15 top-25 finishes—earning both Rookie of the Year and the rare double of Player of the Year honors.
He now makes the move to the highest level of golf, and while there is likely to be growing pains, he has shown us a complete statistical profile that is tailored for winning tickets.
