2026 Dynasty Baseball Prospects: Daily Write-Up Series #88 Cam Caminiti

We’re 52 days from Opening Day, and the 2026 Dynasty Baseball Prospects: Daily Write-Up series returns to the mound with one of the youngest arms in the Top 100. Coming in at #88 is Cam Caminiti, a left-handed pitcher in the Braves system who has already shown advanced feel for missing bats and managing contact. Atlanta’s track record with developing pitchers adds weight to the profile. As a teenage arm, Caminiti represents a long-range dynasty investment built on a foundation rather than flash.

Daily Baseball Write-Up Series #88 Cam Caminiti

Teenage arms rarely look this composed this early. Atlanta’s track record with developing pitchers is as sturdy as it gets, and Cam Caminiti has wasted no time looking the part. Splitting the 2025 season between the Complex and full-season A-ball at just 18 years old, he showed a skill set that already translates beyond age-based dominance. It’s early, but the ingredients you want to see in a long-horizon pitching prospect are already on display.

Caminiti logged 70.0 total innings across the Complex and A-ball in 2025, finishing with a 3.09 ERA at the combined MiLB level. The surface line undersells the progress, though. Once he reached full-season A-ball, he settled in quickly, posting a 2.08 ERA across 13 starts while maintaining his strikeout production against more advanced hitters. He finished the year with 90 strikeouts overall, good for an 11.57 K/9, and hitters struggled to elevate, reflected in a 52.4% ground-ball rate and just 0.64 HR/9.

The underlying indicators support the results. Caminiti’s 3.30 FIP and 2.92 xFIP suggest his run prevention was largely earned, not propped up by luck. The walk rate (3.60 BB/9) remains the developmental lever, but it’s a manageable number in context, especially given his age and workload. Importantly, the strike throwing improved as he moved out of the Complex League environment, a trend you want to see rather than raw dominance against younger competition.

The plate-discipline profile adds another encouraging layer. At the MiLB level, Caminiti held hitters to a 71.4% contact rate with a 13.6% swinging-strike rate and a 30.8% CSW, strong markers for an 18-year-old starter. His 55.3% first-strike rate shows a willingness to pitch ahead, even if the walks indicate there’s still refinement needed within counts. Paired with the ground-ball lean, it’s a profile that limits damage and gives him margin as he continues to climb.

Fantasy Outlook

In dynasty formats, Caminiti is the kind of teenage arm I’m willing to bet on because the skill mix lowers the blow-up risk: real swing-and-miss, real ground balls, and legitimate home-run suppression. He’s already sitting on the back half of Top 100 lists (around #88) with a long ETA (2028), so you’re investing in trajectory rather than immediacy. The most realistic outcome looks like a mid-rotation starter, with an SP2 ceiling if the command tightens and the walk rate settles closer to average. In roto leagues, the ratio profile has a chance to be a feature rather than a liability; in points formats, the strikeouts play while walks remain something to monitor, not panic over. He’s a strong hold in deep dynasty leagues and a smart target for rebuilders, while contenders can view him as a premium trade chip whose value could climb quickly with a clean High-A run.
