MLB Injury Report
Maikel Garcia – 3B Kansas City Royals

Garcia injured his elbow on Wednesday, and the belief then was that he would be able to get back into the lineup quickly. Unfortunately for him and the Royals, that has yet to happen, and he continues to slow-play his return with a gradual buildup of baseball activities. At first, it was believed to be very minor, but for him to be progressing this methodically, it’s somewhat worrisome. Keep an eye on updates, though it still feels like he’ll be back on Tuesday.
Carlos Estevez – RP Kansas City Royals

Slowly but surely, Estevez is making his way back to the Royals. Hit by a comebacker and scuffling through a foot contusion, the bigger concern was his low velocity during Spring Training. Now it would appear that he is hitting the 90+ mark, which is a step forward for him. It remains to be seen when he will start a rehab assignment.
Geraldo Perdomo – SS Arizona Diamondbacks
Jose Fernandez is in the lineup today at shortstop, but Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said he feels strongly that Geraldo Perdomo was going to be able to avoid the IL based on how his ankle feels this morning.
— Nick Piecoro (@nickpiecoro) April 26, 2026
Perdomo missed some time this weekend, but the hope and belief is that he will be back soon enough, without warranting a trip to the Injured List. If I had to choose whether or not to start him this week, I’d likely bench him in favor of someone that I knew would play. However, if your backup is nothing special, then take the chance here, but keep yourself updated until their opening pitch on Tuesday.
Logan O’Hoppe – C Los Angeles Angels
#Angels transactions:
•Recalled RHP José Fermin from Triple-A Salt Lake
•Selected the contracts of LHP Joey Lucchesi (#67) & C Sebastián Rivero (#38)
•Placed C Logan O’Hoppe on 10-day IL (left wrist fracture)
•Designated RHP Shaun Anderson & RHP Jordan Romano for assignment— Angels PR (@LAAngelsPR) April 26, 2026
Just an awful development here, as O’Hoppe has been looking for one healthy season where he can work on his game instead of maintaining his health. It seems unlikely to expect him back anytime soon.
Spencer Strider – SP Atlanta Braves

— Chad Bishop (@MrChadBishop) April 26, 2026
This is Strider’s third outing, and this was also his best one to date. He threw 82 pitches and looks almost ready from a physical standpoint. His velocity looks fine where it is, though it’s down significantly from years past when he would blow it by batters. It’s unclear if the team wants to use another rehab start to gain velocity or just put him back on the mound for the Braves and let him do what he does best.
Josh Naylor – 1B Seattle Mariners
Josh Naylor (quad tightness) is out of the M’s lineup today.
— Adam Jude (@A_Jude) April 26, 2026
It’s unclear if this has been hampering him for a while or if he injured himself this past weekend. Either way, it’s another hurdle that he will have to climb if he wants to get himself back to his 2025 standards. The team should provide updates soon enough, giving fantasy managers enough time to take him out of their lineups if he is to miss time this week and beyond.
Giancarlo Stanton – OF New York Yankees
Aaron Boone said the #Yankees expect to make a decision on Giancarlo Stanton before tomorrow’s game against the #Rangers.
— Gary Phillips (@GaryHPhillips) April 26, 2026
The Yankees seem afraid to make a decision here, as they have postponed doing so for two days. Given Stanton’s extensive injury history and recovery time, it’s understandable for them to hesitate on shutting down someone hot at the plate. That being said, it feels like they’re playing with fire here and delaying the inevitable.
Anthony Volpe – SS New York Yankees
Should Giancarlo Stanton go on the IL, Aaron Boone said Anthony Volpe is “not necessarily” in play for the corresponding move. Boone anticipates Volpe playing in more rehab games this week; he wasn’t sure where that will be yet. #Yankees https://t.co/muajQs8bdT
— Gary Phillips (@GaryHPhillips) April 26, 2026
Volpe is hitting .273 with one home run and one steal over fifteen at-bats through seven games played. He is getting close to making his 2026 debut, but not quite there yet.
Mookie Betts – SS Los Angeles Dodgers
Dave Roberts says that when Mookie Betts returns, he will likely hit in either the 3 or 5 spot in the lineup.
He is also expected to begin his rehab assignment about a week from Monday.

Betts is getting closer to a return, and his long-awaited rehab assignment looks to be starting in one week. He’ll likely need at least another week from then to get back into game shape, but the good news is that he’s getting close.
Wyatt Langford – OF Texas Rangers
Wyatt Langford is taking swings in the cages today.
“If he’s hitting a couple days after going on the IL,” Skip Schumaker said, “that’s a good sign.”
— Shawn McFarland (@McFarland_Shawn) April 26, 2026
The team seems optimistic that Langford is headed in the right direction, given that he is swinging a bat so soon after his Grade 1 flexor strain diagnosis. If he can continue doing this pain-free, he may be able to advance in his recovery program by facing live pitching sooner rather than later.
Tatsuya Imai – SP Houston Astros
Tatsuya Imai will make a minor-league rehab start on Tuesday with Double-A Corpus Christi, Joe Espada said.
— Chandler Rome (@Chandler_Rome) April 26, 2026
Good news here, though there is some belief that the issue may be just as much mental as it is physical with respect to Imai’s current state of affairs.
