Among this week’s targets for pitching streamers are some repeat offenders in San Diego and Boston. Those offenses have struggled all season. One that has emerged this week is Toronto, which now ranks among the worst 10 offenses in runs scored. This may not continue into next week – perhaps they have just hit a skid – but their offense is one to target this week nonetheless. The same goes for Kansas City and Tampa. Follow our recommendations below to capitalize on these trends and find the hidden gems on your waiver wire.

Below are some of my favorite pitching streamers for the upcoming week.
Pitching Streamers for Shallow Leagues (Over 20% Rostered)
Foster Griffin (SP – WAS)
Next Start: Tuesday, 6/16 vs KC
Foster Griffin has been perhaps the steal of MLB free agency. The Nationals signed him after he spent the last three seasons in Japan, and he has shone in his return to the U.S. Griffin sports a 3.63 ERA and a 69:21 K:BB ratio across 72 IP. He has four wins in his last six starts, a 7-2 record on the year, and five quality starts as well. He lines up against Kansas City in his next outing.
The Royals are not a horrible team, but they do have some issues that Griffin could exploit, including a major difficulty scoring runs. This bodes well for Griffin, who has been a bit unlucky with the long ball. His 18% HR/FB rate is far above league norm and could experience some positive regression against Kansas City, as they also have hit the fewest home runs in baseball. Griffin pitches for, arguably, the best offense in baseball. So even if he does continue to give up homers, he should get enough support from his own offense to mitigate any damage and pick up a win at the very least.
Part of Griffin’s success this season has been a reworked arsenal that features seven different pitches. With so many offerings, Griffin has been able to keep batters guessing, leading to a ton of whiffs. Only his fastball and sinker have whiff rates under 28%. His cutter and sweeper own his worst batting averages against in his arsenal, at .256 and .268, respectively. Griffin’s changeup, curveball, and splitter have generated strikeout rates over 30%. He has multiple ways to get batters out, making him a solid starting option in fantasy leagues. Here is a look at his changeup, one of the best pitches in his arsenal:

Griffin should be considered among the top pitching streamers wherever available. He is worth an add across all formats.
Michael McGreevy (SP – STL)
Next Start: Sunday, 6/21, at KC
Michael McGreevy has been a major surprise this season. After finishing last season with an ERA over four, he has a 2.99 ERA across 13 starts this season, though he only has three wins to show for it. If your league counts quality starts, he carries more value, considering he has eight of them so far. He faces Kansas City in his next outing over the weekend.
Kansas City struggles to hit homers and score runs, and McGreevy has been excellent at limiting both. Of his 13 starts, he has allowed three or more earned runs in four of them. He has allowed one or fewer earned runs in six starts. McGreevy may not strike out a ton of batters, but his strikeout rate has improved from last season, he is an elite groundball pitcher, and he features great command. It is those aspects of his game that should lead him to success against the Royals.
McGreevy tweaked his approach this season, tossing his changeup, cutter, and slider more, while using his fastball, sinker, sweeper, and curveball less. These changes have led to an uptick in his K/9 and K% from last season. McGreevy’s slider boasts his best K rate at 35%, while his sinker and changeup have both generated groundball rates over 50%. Here he is discussing his arsenal, what he has done this season, and what has led to his success:
Michael McGreevy has been lights out for the @Cardinals, posting a 2.99 ERA with 8 quality starts through his first 13 games!

McGreevy is a must-add wherever available as one of the top pitching streamers for this week and beyond.
Pitching Streamers for Deep Leagues (0%-24% Rostered)
Dustin May (SP – STL)
Next Start: Monday, 6/15, vs SD
Dustin May has been on a tear since starting the season, allowing 13 earned runs in 7.1 IP. IN his last eight starts, he has six quality starts, but only one win, making him more valuable in QS leagues. He has been working on lowering his ERA since those early flubs, and it has gone down to 4.21. May’s 3.81 xFIP and 3.84 SIERA suggest he can improve his ERA even more, which could happen in his next outing against San Diego.
The Padres make for a great streaming target this week, as they are one of the worst offenses in baseball at the moment. They have scored the fewest runs in the league. On a related note, they also have the league’s second-highest GB%, while also claiming the seventh-highest K%. This all lines up to be an excellent opportunity for success for May, who has been elite at avoiding home runs. He is about league average with an 8.1 K/9 rate, but has improved his walk rate and his GB rate. May has been burned by his defense, as his strand rate is just 66%, despite generating great numbers otherwise.
In the same way that St. Louis reworked McGreevy’s arsenal, they have done the same for May. He added a curveball this season that has missed a lot of bats, with a 32% whiff rate. May has used his fastball, cutter, and changeup more, while using his sweeper and sinker less. Perhaps it is the frequency with which he throws his pitches, or his sequencing this season, but his sweeper has turned into an absolutely dominant pitch. It has a .203 BAA, a 33% whiff rate, a 42% GB rate, a 39% K rate, and a 29% putaway rate. It is a great weapon against righty hitters, but you know it is especially dirty when you can get lefties out with it like this:

May needs to be one of your top adds this week for anyone looking for pitching streamers.
Gage Jump (SP – ATH)
Next Start: Wednesday, 6/17, vs PIT
Gage Jump has 18.1 innings under his belt this season. This includes two wins and two quality starts spanning three starts. He has a 13:5 K:BB ratio this season, and has a chance at another strong outing against Pittsburgh in the coming week.
Pittsburgh’s offense has a major strikeout problem – they have struck out the third most of all teams in baseball and own the league’s fourth-highest strikeout rate. They also have the league’s third-highest groundball rate. In the minors, Jump was a high strikeout pitcher, generating a double-digit K/9 rate at single-A and triple-A, and a 9.5 K/9 rate at double-A. He has not seen the same success quite yet as a pro, but may get a boost to his strikeout totals against the Pirates. Jump was also about league average as a groundball pitcher, something that could also improve thanks to Pittsburgh’s propensity for hitting grounders.
Jump is primarily a fastball/slider pitcher, though he features a changeup, curveball, and sweeper as well. All of his secondary pitches have been elite at missing bats so far, with 24% whiff rates or higher. He has leaned on his sweeper for strikeouts, though it is his least-used pitch so far. Perhaps tossing it more could ramp up his strikeout rate. It is a pitch he should lean on against Pittsburgh. His three breaking pitches have also generated 40% GB rates or higher, and similarly should be featured significantly against the Pirates. Take a look at this filth:

Jump is widely available and should be a target for any fantasy managers looking for pitching streamers in the upcoming week.
Sean Burke (SP – CWS)
Next Start: Thursday, 6/18, at NYY
Sean Burke has been inconsistent this season. In 13 starts, he has allowed three or more earned runs in a game five times, but also two or fewer earned runs in a game eight times. He has five quality starts on the season, but a 3-3 record, to go along with a 3.88 ERA. He lines up against the Yankees next, which seems like a tough matchup, but could work in his favor.
The Yanks have suddenly emerged as a potential target for streaming pitchers, as long as they face a pitcher who can induce strikeouts. This is because the Yankees have the 10th most strikeouts in baseball, with the eighth highest K%. This works in Burke’s favor, as he has an above-average 8.6 K/9 rate this season, as well as a 23% K rate. He has flashed even better strikeout stuff through his career. Burke has improved his walk rate this year, adding more reasons for fantasy managers to snag him off waivers.
Burke has been able to miss bats at a high rate this year. His fastball, curveball, slider, and cutter have whiff rates of 22%, 23%, 32%, and 20%, respectively. The problem for Burke is that none of them have putaway rates over 18%, and most of his strikeouts have been on his fastball. This feels like a sequencing issue, which is something that should be an easy fix. Burke has a great knuckle curve that has flummoxed batters, leading to a .240 BAA, a 55% GB rate, and a 23% whiff rate on the pitch. He needs to use it more effectively and at the right times to start turning those whiffs into strikeouts. He could do this against the Yankees as they try to hit sweepers like this:

— Rob Friedman (@PitchingNinja) April 22, 2026
This is probably the riskiest of all the streamer suggestions this week, but Burke could reward fantasy managers who select him among their pitching streamers.
Cade Cavalli (SP – WAS)
Next Start: Friday, 6/19, at TB
Cade Cavalli has been a solid option all season outside of a few stinkers. He has three quality starts in his last five games, two of which also resulted in wins. Cavalli lines up against Tampa in his next outing, which could result in not just another quality start, but another win as well.
Tampa is on a two-game win streak, as of writing, but is 4-6 in its last 10 games, and just ended a significant losing streak. A major reason for their struggles has been a lack of home runs. They have the second-fewest homers, and coincidentally, the fourth-highest groundball rate in the league. Cavalli has stepped up his strikeout rate this season. His K/9 is up to 9.8, and his 24% K rate is among the top half of qualified starters. Cavalli has also been excellent at limiting home runs, giving up just five across 69.2 IP, while inducing an impressive 46% GB rate. These skills should help him avoid problems against the Rays.
Cavalli made some changes this season, using his fastball more and his curveball less. That has led to his fastball performing a bit worse than last season, but his curve performing much better. He also turned his cutter into a sweeper, likely a suggestion of the Nats’ new pitching coach. That has become one of his best pitches, generating a .133 BAA and a 25% whiff rate, though his best pitch overall has been the knuckle curve. Cavalli’s curve has a .230 BAA, an insane 42% whiff rate, a 35% K rate, a ridiculous 61% GB rate, and a 28% putaway rate. In fact, he features four pitches with a GB rate over 50%, a major factor in his high overall GB%. His consistency and pitch mix have made him incredibly effective as well – take a look:

— Rob Friedman (@PitchingNinja) June 2, 2026
Cavalli may not stay on waivers much longer, so now is the time to make him one of your pitching streamers for this week, and potentially a regular starter going forward.
Grant Holmes (SP – ATL)
Next Start: Saturday, 6/20, vs MIL
Grant Holmes was limited to just 3.2 innings in his last outing against the White Sox. Prior to that, he tossed a six-inning quality start against the Jays, struck out 10 against the Nats, and shut out the Red Sox. Holmes faces the Brewers in his next outing.
Milwaukee has not hit very many home runs this season, the third fewest in the league. It may not come as a surprise, then, to see that they also have the league’s highest GB%. Holmes seems to have pitched into some poor home run luck this season, with a 16% HR/FB rate and a 1.7 HR/9 rate. That is nearly a half a home run more per inning this season than he allowed in 115 IP last season. He also has not seen the same strikeout numbers this season, so it could be that this game helps even out his home run and strikeout issues.
Holmes was a heavy fastball/slider pitcher last year, but has cranked up the usage on both pitches this season, while also using his sinker and changeup more. But he has used his curveball and cutter much less than last season. Those changes are potential reasons why his strikeout rate has not turned out the same as last season. Results have been a mixed bag, with his slider and cutter performing a bit worse on the whole, and his fastball and curveball looking a bit better. His best pitches this season, though, have been his slider and curve. Those breakers have been filthy. They have whiff rates of 41% and 35%, respectively, as well as 24% and 26% putaway rates. He really needs to develop his sinker or changeup into a better out pitch against lefty batters. Both would be great options to toss against the Brewers’ heavy groundball-hitting lineup. Plus, he should be throwing curveballs like this more than 6% of the time:
Grant Holmes, Dirty 84mph Curveball. 😨 pic.twitter.com/CAyi5VVZu9
— Rob Friedman (@PitchingNinja) May 12, 2026
Holmes has a chance to be a really good pitcher this season with a few changes to his approach. He has an ideal matchup this week, though, and should be in consideration for anyone in need of pitching streamers.
