Fantasy Baseball Waiver Wire Targets
Henry Bolte, OF, Athletics (51%)
Henry Bolte sailed through Triple-A. He racked up 12 home runs and 17 steals across 37 games to go with an impressive .348/.418/.658 slash line. His efforts led to a mid-May call-up where he’s literally hit the ground running. In 138 big-league plate appearances, Bolte is 9-for-12 on the basepaths with a .308 batting average and two long balls.
Bolte’s home run total will be limited as long as he maintains a ground ball rate north of 60%. But if he can elevate the ball more, a 92.6 mph average EV and a 51.2% hard-hit rate are promising signs under the hood. In the meantime, pick up Bolte for his 100th percentile sprint speed and ability to get on base at a hefty clip (.399 OBP). If his power results tick up, that’s gravy. Bolte is an upside play worth adding in shallow formats.
Willi Castro, 1B/2B/3B/SS/OF, Rockies (70%)
Willi Castro is quietly having a productive June. He’s slashing .324/.432/.541 with four homers, 13 runs, 14 RBI, and two steals across 88 plate appearances with a 159 wRC+. Additionally, the veteran displayed strong plate skills over that span with a 13.6% walk rate and 17% strikeout rate. Castro isn’t a splashy player. But he hits out of the top two spots in the order and has 15/15 upside. Castro plays all over the field and is a great pickup with seven games at Coors Field next week.
Samad Taylor, OF/UT, Padres (41%)
Samad Taylor has sure looked good since his call-up earlier this month. He’s been a hitting machine, reaching base safely in all but two of his 16 games with the Padres. In that stretch, Taylor has a .379/.438/.448 slash line with one home run, 11 runs scored, 11 RBI and six steals.
Taylor brings low-teens power to the table, with the bulk of his fantasy value stemming from his legs. Last season, he racked up 44 steals in 137 games at Triple-A and is already flashing 95th percentile sprint speed in the majors. Taylor’s 27.3% strikeout rate isn’t ideal, but he’s making contact in the zone at a 90.2% clip and has become a lineup fixture since his promotion. Primarily hitting out of the two-hole, he’s poised to pile up runs and do damage on the basepaths in the second half. Taylor is a nice speed target in shallow leagues.
Caleb Durbin, 3B, Red Sox (58%)
Caleb Durbin has been an afterthought for much of the season, but he recently started to find his groove. He’s 11-for-24 in his last six games, including four multi-hit efforts, three doubles, two homers, and two steals. Moreover, Durbin has been hot at the plate since the calendar flipped to June. In that 19-game stretch, he upped his batting average from a lowly .183 mark to .308. He also showcased power and speed, popping four dingers and swiping three bags with a .903 OPS.
Durbin’s underlying metrics in this stretch are largely consistent with his 2025 rates when he totaled 11 home runs and 18 steals across 136 games. He moved from the bottom-third of the order to primarily hitting sixth, and should be a solid accumulator in 12-teamers while he’s hitting.
Josh Bell, 1B, Twins (55%)
Josh Bell is a boring accumulator who is often undervalued by fantasy managers. However, he’s been swinging a hot stick in June and deserves our attention. Across 84 plate appearances, the veteran is hitting .312 with five doubles, four homers, 13 runs scored, and 17 RBI with a 155 wRC+. His .391 wOBA for the month is backed by a .393 xwOBA, and his .221 ISO in June is a season-high mark. Steals aren’t a part of Bell’s game, but he’s a middle-of-the-order bat with pop and counting stat appeal. He’s a solid add while on a hot streak.
Slade Cecconi, SP, Guardians (48%)
Slade Cecconi got off to a rough start this year, posting a 6.56 ERA, 1.57 WHIP and 9.1% K-BB% over his first seven starts. But he’s since adjusted his pitch mix, and it’s been a game-changer. In Cecconi’s last nine starts, he’s sporting a 2.96 ERA (3.91 xFIP), 1.27 WHIP, and 12.1% K-BB over 48.2 innings. He also kept the ball on the ground at a 48% clip. Cecconi’s bloated surface stats for the season are likely contributing to his low rostership. But don’t be fooled; buy his skill gains and take advantage before others take notice.
Jack Perkins, RP, Athletics (27%)
Jack Perkins is another pitcher whose elevated surface ratios are masking better skills under the hood. In four starts since transitioning to the rotation, Perkins owns a 7.50 ERA and 1.61 WHIP across 18 innings. But a .341 BABIP and 63.6% strand rate are driving those ugly results, as he holds a rosier 3.68 xFIP. Combine that with a 29.3% K%, 18.3% K-BB% and 12.1% SwStr% in that stretch, and Perkins is looking pretty, pretty good. Looking ahead, Perkins’ upcoming schedule is fairly favorable: @LAA, vs. MIA, @DET. He’s worth an add before his results catch up with his skills.
