Attacking the Green!: 2026 Bermuda Championship Stats Breakdown and Best Bets

Welcome back, golf fans. This week marks the halfway point of the fall season with a trip to Port Royal Golf Course for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. The field, which includes just one player ranked Top 50 (via DataGolf), is less than appealing overall, but that won’t stop us from digging in and looking for some betting value.

The Course: Port Royal Golf Course

Port Royal is a short course on paper (6,828 yards) but plays much tougher due to being a coastal course where the weather plays a big factor. This will be the 8th trip to Bermuda for this event, and we have seen the variance in winning score where an event-low of -12 won last year, has been -15 in two other years, but we have also seen it hit -24 twice. With the wind playing a huge part along with the narrow fairways, the average driving accuracy has been low, so I lean more toward distance off the tee this week given the rough isn’t overly penal. With six par 4s under 400 yards and just one over 450 yards, I will focus on short to mid iron form along with some trending putters overall and on Bermuda greens. If the forecast looks rough, and early indications are lots of wind, I will look to some trends in those conditions, as well.

Stats & Trends That Matter: Finding the 2026 Bermuda Championship Best Bets

Ben James (+1200 Outright / +245 Top 5)

Starting at the top of the board in a weak-field event probably isn’t optimal, but no one feels closer to winning than Ben James right now. He is having an excellent fall season, extending his Top 5 streak to three straight events with two in the fall and one back at the Wyndham Championship in August in a much better field. Not only are the irons red hot, gaining nearly nine strokes on approach in the fall, his short game has also stood out as he has gained over eight strokes in that area.

Seamus Power (+2450 Outright / +460 Top 5 / +225 Top 10)

If the low number at the top of the board isn’t your style, consider Seamus Power in that next tier. After back-to-back missed cuts to end the regular season, he has gotten back on track in the fall with a T7 at the Biltmore Championship and T21 at the Bank of Utah Championship. While the iron game has been up and down, the short game has been terrific in those events, and that is great news as he heads to Port Royal with some excellent course history. He won the event back in 2022, has finished Top 25 in four straight trips and made the cut in all six trips to Bermuda.

Kevin Roy (+3400 Outright / +290 Top 10 / +134 Top 20)

Continuing down the board, we find a veteran player who has been very consistent and is still searching for win #1 of his career. He comes in having made the cut in all three fall events he has played, including a T13 at the Baycurrent Classic, and has a cut streak of eight events going back to the Scottish Open back in July. While the iron game hasn’t been his strength, he has been trending up, gaining strokes on approach in seven of those eight events while also gaining strokes with the putter in four of his last five. He has made the cut here in Bermuda in all three trips, including a Top 10 in 2023. While I will sprinkle some units on the outright, I am more drawn to the secondary market this week.

Luke Clanton (+5200 Outright / +405 Top 10 / +184 Top 20)

The shine seems to have faded on the former #1 amateur player in the world, but he only presents value in the betting market, and the kid is still just 22 years old! After his meteoric rise in 2024, where he posted four Top 10s in eight PGA Tour starts, he has tallied just two over the last 39 events. The good news is that one of those came in his last start at the Bank of Utah Championship, where he was red-hot with the irons, gaining nearly 8.5 strokes on approach. He has the raw talent to compete and win on the PGA Tour and will jump on board while the numbers are in our favour.
