Matt Ritchie

Position: Midfielder (or defender in some fantasy leagues)

Team: Newcastle

Ownership: 71%

Points Average Since the Restart: 19.5

Next 5 Fixtures: bou (a), WHU (H), mci (a), wat (a), TOT (H)

What’s Changed?: Ritchie is playing in the midfield once again, which has absolutely reignited his fantasy value. While it’s come at the expense of Jonjo Shelvey’s value, it’s still a welcome sight. Matty’s buzzing about the pitch, shooting from distance and picking up counting stats all over the park. Now’s the time to get him with impending matches vs. BOU and WHU. I don’t see his role changing any time soon, and Ritchie will be a welcomed addition to all but the most elite midfield fantasy football cadres. (Monitor his health, though, as he was withdrawn early.)

Anthony Martial

Position: Forward

Team: Manchester United

Ownership: 100%

Points Average Since the Restart: 20.25

Next 5 Fixtures: bri (A), BOU (H), avl (A), SOU (H), cry (A)

What’s Changed?: You didn’t think I was going to leave the Frenchman out of the player rankings, did you? I realize he’s 100% owned, but you don’t score a hat trick and not get featured in our Hot or Cold Players. Now, don’t let Martial’s points average fool you, because obviously the hat trick will skew it quite a bit. However, the thing to focus on is the fact that this United team is firing on all cylinders. You want pieces of this offense in your fantasy team because with MU’s attacking prowess, their players can’t help but score points. Trade for them as soon as you can.

Michael Keane

Position: Defender

Team: Everton

Ownership: 57%

Points Average Since the Restart: 21.88

Next 5 Fixtures: LEI (H), tot (A), SOU (H), wol (A), AVL (H)

What’s Changed?: I’m going to say something and you have to promise not to laugh. Everton’s defense is better now. Granted, I didn’t say good, I said better. And Keane’s numbers are skewed after two clean sheets and a goal over the course of these first two matches. But, the mere fact that he’s chipping in offensively (1 key pass and in the box on all corners and free kicks) means that offensive returns are not out of the question. Plus, if they’re able to keep clean sheets, even better.

Fantasy EPL Defenders

Trent Alexander-Arnold (100%, Liverpool) – THAT FREE KICK! Oh, man, what a beauty.
Matt Doherty (99%, Wolves) – Amazingly dependable defensive fantasy asset.
Cesar Azpilicueta (99%, Chelsea) – Continues to perform to a very high level.
Marcos Alonso (96%, Chelsea) – CHE win when he plays. It’s a statistical fact.
Willy Boly (94%, Wolves) – A ghost point monster. Even when they concede, he scores well.
Patrick Van Aanholt (86%, Southampton) – Look at his form over the last 4 matches. I dare you.
Adam Masina (20%, Watford) – How many times do we have to tell you about this man on the pod & the site? Add him.
Kortney Hause (15%, Aston Villa) – The appeal for this guy is the fact that he seems to be on the end of EVERY set piece.

Fantasy EPL Midfielders

Kevin De Bruyne (100%, Manchester City) – Heard of him? He’s a professional footballer.
James Ward-Prowse (98%, Southampton) – Amazingly consistent player.
Diogo Jota (97%, Wolves) – Great trade option if you can get him at a decent price.
Bruno Fernandes (88%, Manchester United) – Continues to make this United team tick.
Nathan Redmond (80%, Southampton) – Stop reading this and add this man if he’s available in your league.
Miguel Almiron (67%, Newcastle) – It really seems like Almiron’s time has finally come. And their fixtures are a dream.
James McArthur (67%, Crystal Palace) – Has been reliable for fantasy owners since the beginning of February!
Phil Foden (61%, Manchester City) – Will sub a lot. But when he starts, play him.
Matt Ritchie (71%, Newcastle) – See above.
David Brooks (57%, Bournemouth) – We’re monitoring Brooks, as he could fall from the hotlist with another stinker.

Fantasy EPL Forwards

Sadio Mane (100%, Liverpool) – 9.5 in a game when LIV struggled to do anything constructive? I’ll take that every day.
Raul Jiminez (100%, Wolves) – He can’t help but score. The other day in the market, he slipped on a banana peel… and scored a goal.
Danny Ings (98%, Southampton) – Brits love to put a “y” on the end of names. And what can I say? Ingsy is back with a bang.
Jordan Ayew (75%, Crystal Palace) – Another game, another goal. What more does this man have to prove to you?
Allan Saint-Maximin (71%, Newcastle) – Gimme an “E”… E! Gimme an “L”… L! Yeah, we’re not going to spell out “electric” in its entirety. But he’s it.
Neal Maupay (49%, Brighton) – Will his form continue? Well, their schedule is BRUTAL. But you can’t thumb your nose at a striker who has averaged 8.2 over his last 8 matches.
Olivier Giroud (49%, Chelsea) – To be clear, this Chelsea rotation is going to be an absolute nightmare. But you should start Giroud when he starts the match.
Bukayo Saka (43%, Arsenal) – Let me tell you a strange story about a “forward” who plays at left-back and has scored 10+ in 4 out of his last 6 matches. That’s it. That’s the whole story.
Christian Benteke (39%, Crystal Palace) – He’s staying on the hot list despite not playing, because he’s a monster when he does. BUT, if he’s out again next gameweek, I’ll have to drop him from the list.
Jarrod Bowen (39%, West Ham) – Looks to be the only bright spot on this team at the moment.
Oliver McBurnie (33%, Sheffield United) – Now nailed in the side, and scoring really good ghost points.

❄️❄️ Gameweek 32 Player Rankings: Cold List ❄️❄️

These are Fantasy EPL players that have fallen in our rankings. This may be due to poor form, they have been dropped from the best 11, they have suffered an injury, or received a suspension. It’s time to consider dropping these players from your squads!

Roberto Firmino

Position: Forward

Team: Liverpool

Ownership: 100%

Points Average Since the Restart: 3.5

Next 5 Fixtures: mci (A), AVL (H), bri (A), BUR (H), ars (A)

What’s Changed?: Bobby has been brutal for his fantasy owners since the restart, especially considering managers’ expectations of the Brazilian. But, it appears were dealing with a new normal here, which involves a couple of concerning developments. First of all, he’s been subbed off for both matches, meaning he’s unlikely to go a full 90 any time soon. Secondly, he’s scored 10+ points once since Jan. 29th. This is no longer out of the ordinary for Firmino.

Recommendation: Don’t trade him yet, as his value is at an all-time low. But cross your fingers and hope that he excels vs. AVL and then immediately try to get some good value for him in the trade market.

João Moutinho

Position: Midfielder

Team: Wolves

Ownership: 99%

Points Average Since the Restart: 3.75

Next 5 Fixtures: avl (A), ARS (H), shu (A), EVE (H), bur (A)

What’s Changed?: Last week I wrote that he’d had a bad week and that I didn’t think this was a new norm for him. Well, we have reason to be concerned now. This is two matches in a row in which he’s played 90 mins and scored 5 points or fewer. Granted, his meager points totals are partially due to the fact that he received a yellow card in both matches, but that’s equally concerning in and of itself, is it not? His command over the midfield is less and less important as Wolves place more emphasis on attacking up the wings.

Recommendation: You’re not dropping him. You’re not trading him after his performance these last 2 weeks. He’s a definite hold.

Richarlison

Position: Forward

Team: Everton

Ownership: 100%

Points Average Since the Restart: 5

Next 5 Fixtures: LEI (H), tot (A), SOU (H), wol (A), AVL (H)

What’s Changed?: It’s an all Portuguese-speaking cold list this week! Another struggling Brazilian here in Richarlison. The most concerning thing about his returns is the 1.5 points that he scored for his managers in 79 minutes vs. Norwich, a team that strikers look at the same way I look at a piping hot pepperoni pizza. Yet, he was anonymous on the pitch, with no ghost points to speak of whatsoever.

Recommendation: Richarlison is worth monitoring, especially since his upcoming fixtures aren’t exactly cakewalks. If rises to the occasion in one of those matches, I’d consider trading him.

Gameweek 32 Player Rankings: More Cold Players!

Fantasy EPL Defenders

Enda Stevens (87%, Sheffield United) – Injuries are killing this defense.
Joe Gomez (87%, Liverpool) – Matip started over him, but even after he came on, his score was negligible.
Toby Alderweireld (66%, Tottenham) – Didn’t play a single minute. Nope… before you ask… no. Not even one. None.
Reece James (63%, Chelsea) – Didn’t start the match. Again, Chelsea will be an absolute rotation nightmare. Trade Chelsea players where you’re able.
Hector Bellerin (54%, Arsenal) – The entire Draft Premier League Twitter community has been telling you to steer clear. I hope you listened.
Victor Lindelof (48%, Manchester United) – Needs a clean sheet to score well.
David Luiz (47%, Arsenal) – Yuck.

Fantasy EPL Midfielders

João Moutinho (99%, Wolves) – See above.
Youri Tielemans (96%, Leicester City) – Picking up where he left off… being all but anonymous on the pitch.
Gylfi Sigurdsson (94%, Everton) – Hasn’t been starting.
Felipe Anderson (94%, West Ham) – Benched after his train wreck of a GW30 performance.
Abdoulaye Doucoure (91%, Watford) – Didn’t make the XI. Tough times for Doucoure owners.
Harvey Barnes (88%, Leicester City) – Also benched after his ZERO points in GW30.
Daniel James (84%, Manchester United) – Might have permanently lost his spot to Greenwood.
Michael Antonio (82%, West Ham) – Not scoring the ghost points he usually does, likely because he’s better on the wing and Moyes has been playing him as a target man.
Mesut Ozil (80%, Arsenal) – It’s hard to express what a bust he’s been since the restart.
Giovanni Lo Celso (42%, Tottenham) – Has a very concerning early-adolescence beard now. But, last GW was better. He may move off of the cold list with another decent performance.
Bernard (38%, Everton) – Similarly to Lo Celso above, Bernard played well last match. Rotation is always a concern with him.

Fantasy EPL Forwards

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (100%, Arsenal) – Did you watch Arsenal last week? He played 180 mins and scored 8… total.
Jamie Vardy (100%, Leicester City) – The problem with this speed demon is that he does very little if he doesn’t score.
Tammy Abraham (97%, Chelsea) – A shock no-start vs AVL on Sunday, Tammy seems to be well and truly in a rotation nightmare.
Ayoze Perez (96%, Leicester) – Still not starting.
Teemu Pukki (94%, Norwich) – His struggles continue. Someone tell me why this man is 94% owned, please.
Billy Sharp (9%, Sheffield United) – Not even a streaming option at this point despite playing considerable minutes.
