The Week 26 EPL waiver wire brings us back to a normal week of 10 league games.
James Ward-Prowse and Evan Ferguson got their West Ham debuts at the half, but neither contributed much on the fantasy front. I’m still watching both. Ben Chilwell came on late but did make a difference in the game. I think there’s a chance he gets a start. Marco Asensio showed moments of quality. Mathys Tel had seven shots and decent points for not scoring. I think he’ll retain his spot too. Nico González didn’t score many fantasy points for City.Â
There’s still a long way to go, and there are options available.
Week 26 Fantasy Draft EPL Waiver Wire
Week 26 suggestions (under 50% rostered) are listed in order from most to least rostered.
Mikel Merino – Midfielder – 33% Rostered –Â Arsenal vs West Ham
Merino had play in a traditional midfielder role for most of the season. He’s started eight games on the season with limited success but moments of quality. But with Arsenal running out of attacking options, Merino entered late in their game a striker, scoring two goals, which were crucial in the title race. It looks like the striker position could be his. This could be an interesting pick, with a midfielder playing up front for a top-scoring team in the league. He’s top pick this week.
Jan Bednarek – Defender – 26% Rostered – Southampton vs Brighton
It’s a testament to Bednarek that he continues to put up such good fantasy numbers. Even with Southampton’s horrid record and goals against, Bednarek is probably the best available defender on he EPL waiver wire, and he is available in most leagues. He’s basically matchup-proof since you’re not expecting clean sheets and goals will be scored against them. It simply doesn’t matter. The points will come.
Lucas Bergvall – Midfielder – 13% Rostered –Â Ipswich vs Tottenham
Bergval has started five of six games since the new year, scoring solid points in each of the starts but one. He’s picking up fantasy points even without a goal or assist, amassing defensive stats that add up. Spurs travel to Ipswich who have four losses and a draw over their last six, and who are without a win in 2025. Spurs have won two straight. I’d be considering last week’s suggestion Tel and defender Djed Spence.Â
Carlos Alcaraz – Midfielder – 11% Rostered –Â Everton vs Manchester United
Alcaraz made the most of his first start for Everton. He scored and added an assist in their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace. Everton are surging since David Moyes took over. Over their last five games, they’ve won four and drew one (against Liverpool). Alcaraz also had five shots with three on target and stash of defensive points. With Beto scoring goals (and jsut at our 50% rostered cut off) and additional team belief, Alcaraz is worth a grab on the EPL Waiver Wire.
Have fun. Good luck!
