The final EPL waiver wire is here. It’s the last weekend of the EPL season. And it’s been fun.
Last week’s suggestion, Bilal El Khannouss, excelled again, even without a goal or assist in their win against Ipswich. Matty Cash and Aston Villa kept a clean sheet. Chris Richards was below par, as they conceded two in their win. Carlos Alcaraz came on late in the 2-0 Everton win without much to show for it.Â
All games kick off at the same time on Sunday. Five teams from 3rd to 7th are separated by just three points with European spots on the line. Newcastle, Chelsea, Aston Villa, Manchester City, and Nottingham Forest all have a chance. Chelsea and Forest play each other, too. I’m looking at players on these teams who have so much to play for.
Week 38 Fantasy Draft EPL Waiver Wire
Week 38 suggestions (rostered 50% or less) are listed in order from most to least rostered.
Amadou Onana- Defender – Rostered 39% – Manchester United vs Aston Villa
Aston Villa have won three straight, propelling them into the Champions League race. Onana has produced good Fantrax points over his last two games, with most of those points coming on the defensive end of the field. Villa most likely need to win to move up, so they will be pushing from the start. United will be hoping to play spoiler, but they haven’t won in eight games (with six losses in that stretch). Ezri Konsa is another player to look at, having scored last week.
Jakub Kiwior – Defender – Rostered 30% – Southampton vs Arsenal
Kiwior has filled in nicely since being called upon. He had very good game in the shutout win against Newcastle. Southampton haven’t scored in three games and really haven’t scored much all season. The Gunners don’t have much to play for, so they could be playing relaxed and fun football against the last place team and defense in the league. I’ll be looking to pick up Gunners from the EPL waiver wire if I can.
Matheus Nunes – Midfielder – Rostered 29% – Fulham vs Manchester City
He’s an attacking midfielder playing right back. Sort of. City will control the ball and dictate the pace. Nunes consistently gets into the attack and assisted against Bournemouth. When he’s started, the points are there. But it’s not a sure thing that starts either, so have options available. City need just a point, so they should be okay. Fulham will finish mid-table, and they conceded five goals over their last two games.
Callum Wilson – Forward – Rostered 14% – Newcastle vs Everton
You’re going to have to wait on the injury news for Alexander Isak, but he is a doubt. Wilson is the clear replacement if Isak can’t go. Injuries have been tough for Wilson, who has just two starts and hasn’t scored in the EPL. None of that will matter if he can score in this crucial game. Everton have won two straight, but their defense is riddled with injuries.
It’s been a great season! Get those lineups ready to go. Don’t hold back on the EPL waiver wire this week. Have fun! Good luck.
