Week 14 of the 2025 MLB season is here, and it represents the official midway point of the season. Every single team will play its 81st game of the year at some point within the next seven days. As for the schedule itself, it is standard. However, there are still some edges to be had and lineup decisions to be made. So, let’s dive into the Week 14 fantasy baseball Hitting Planner.

Week 14 Schedule Notes
Six teams play a full slate of games this week. They are the Atlanta Braves, the Chicago Cubs, the Minnesota Twins, the New York Mets, the Seattle Mariners, and the St. Louis Cardinals. Fantasy managers should be starting hitters from these teams in their lineups this week. There are a couple of caveats I will mention below. There is an even distribution of games on Monday and Thursday, with each day hosting nine ball games. And there are no day games on either Monday or Friday of this week, meaning fantasy managers should have most lineup information handy when it is time to submit lineups in both weekly leagues and in those leagues where you can set your lineup twice a week.
Week 14 Starting Pitching Matchup Notes
If you need me to tell you to start your relevant Dodgers hitters, fantasy baseball may not be for you. But just in case, start your relevant Dodgers hitters. They travel to Colorado this week to face arguably the worst pitching staff in baseball. A weekend trip to Kansas City is less than ideal, but they will do enough damage early in the week so that any help they can provide over the weekend should be considered a bonus.
The Cardinals and Cubs should face a trio of left-handed starting pitchers among the seven they will square off against. St. Louis has been more prone to platooning than Chicago has. Under normal circumstances, that could be a warning for those relying on Nolan Gorman to keep up his recent hot stretch. However, Gorman started Saturday’s game against a lefty, which is a good sign. I still think he misses a game or two, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to remove him from Week 14 lineups. The same applies to the Cubs, particularly regarding Michael Busch. Justin Turner may get a start or two this week, but Busch should still get plenty of run. Â
The San Diego Padres will face four lefties this week compared to just two right-handed starters. Gavin Sheets and Jake Cronenworth have been swinging hot bats lately. While it wouldn’t shock me to see either or both sit for a game or two, San Diego’s right-handed bench bats are not exactly world-beaters. Tyler Wade and Trenton Brooks are more likely to sit this week than Sheets and Cronenworth are. Kansas City, San Francisco, and Washington should face all right-handed starting pitchers in Week 14. This is good news for Jac Caglianone, Dominic Smith, and Josh Bell. Less so for Wilmer Flores, Alex Call, and Amed Rosario. Fantasy managers should not rely on any of the latter trio of hitters this week.
Week 14 Ballpark Effects Notes
While nine MLB teams are at home all week, there aren’t a ton of hitter’s parks in that group. Houston and Kansas City are slightly favorable for both left and right-handed hitters, but by a very negligible margin. Milwaukee has the worst park factor among home teams, but their matchups are most favorable, save for a Wednesday date with Paul Skenes. The Dodgers get the most hitter-friendly factors of the week by virtue of their trips to Colorado and Kansas City. Again, you should not need me to tell you to start your Dodgers.
