Week 9 – Draft EPL Waiver Wire

The Fantrax Week 9 EPL waiver wire continues to see value players available, but mostly from teams in the bottom half of the table.

Week 8 suggestions were quality contributors to Fantrax managers who grabbed them on the waiver wire. Sean Longstaff scored double digits again, even in a 2-0 loss. He’s looking like a solid midfielder each week. Jhon Arias had eight points, giving him a good output yet again. Quilindschy Hartman earned a clean sheet and is looking promising moving forward. Noah Okafor was a late scratch in the Week 8 game.

Week 9 suggestions (rostered 50% or less) are listed in order from most to least rostered.

Hugo Bueno – Defender – Rostered 47% – Wolves vs Burnley

Bueno has been good, even as Wolves have not. He’s averaging over double-digit Fantrax points over his last six games. He’s currently the 21st-ranked defender in Fantrax scoring, and that’s with 16 goals against, no clean sheets, no goals or assists. That means he’s picking all consistent defensive points anywhere he can get them. Wolves host a Burnley team who sit just outside of relegation. It’s a big early-season game for both teams.

Martin Dubravka – Goalie – Rostered 42% – Wolves vs Burnley

The Burnley keeper is the third-highest-scoring keeper in Fantrax, but he is still only rostered in 42% of the leagues. He leads the EPL in saves with 33 total so far on the season. Saves equal points, so even when he concedes, Fantrax managers can be confident of positive points. Burnley travel to Wolves, who have scored just five goals thus far. He won’t be on the EPL waiver wire for that much longer.

Brenden Aaronson – Midfielder – Rostered 26% – Leeds vs West Ham

The American midfielder has turned out three straight good games. He has at least one shot on target and a key pass over those last three games, where he had double-digit Fantrax points. Leeds have lost two in a row and need a result. They host West Ham, who have the worst goal differential in the league.

Eli Kroupi – Forward – Rostered 9% – Bournemouth  vs Nottingham Forest

Kroupi has played under 90 minutes on the season but has now scored three goals.  Evanilson was ruled out, and Kroupi took full advantage, scoring a brace in his first start. He had scored in his previous game as a sub. If Evanilson’s injury keeps him sidelined, the young French international has a big upside on the EPL waiver wire, especially against a struggling Notts team that is sitting in 18th place.
