The Angels ultimately made him their first-round selection, betting on polish, makeup, and a fastball-changeup combination that consistently overwhelmed hitters at the collegiate level.

Bremner followed up an All-American 2024 campaign with a solid, if less dominant, junior season as UCSB’s Friday-night ace. Over 77.1 innings in 2025, he logged a 3.49 ERA with 111 strikeouts, continuing to miss bats while shouldering a heavier workload. The season was not without turbulence, but his second-half performance stood out, showing both resilience and the ability to adjust. While he did not pitch professionally after being drafted, the Angels viewed his college workload as sufficient and opted for a conservative post-draft plan, setting him up for a full ramp-up in 2026.

On the mound, Bremner is defined by a mid-90s fastball and one of the better changeups in the class. The heater plays with life at the top of the zone, and the changeup mirrors the fastball’s arm speed before diving late, giving him a true bat-missing weapon against both righties and lefties.
