If you’re looking for a rookie outfielder who could be a massive fantasy baseball contributor as a late-round sleeper or a dynasty league selection, then this isn’t your year. There doesn’t seem to be the big-name prospect that everyone is talking about. Unlike last season, when fantasy experts were hyping Roman Anthony of the Boston Red Sox due to his stellar minor-league success.
He received a June call-up, though he only accumulated eight home runs, 48 runs, and 32 RBIs over 303 plate appearances. However, the Red Sox saw enough to sign the prospect to an eight-year, $130 million contract. There are a few rookies this season who could impact their big-league squads, but none carry the hype Anthony had.
Rookie Outfielders to Keep an Eye on for 2026 Fantasy Baseball
Dylan Beavers – OF, Baltimore Orioles (ADP: 335)
Dylan Beavers still qualifies as a rookie after a brief call-up last season. In the minors, he showed the potential as a possible five-tool player, hitting 18 home runs, scoring 78 runs, knocking in 51 RBIs, and stealing 23 bases in Triple-A last season, while also slashing .304/.420/.515. However, he failed to repeat these stats over 35 MLB games.
He only hit four homers, stole two bases, and had a .227 batting average. Despite the lackluster performance, he showed great plate vision, as he drew 0.72 walks per strikeout. This season, Beavers will likely hit in the middle of the batting order, giving him ample opportunities to be a fantasy contributor batting behind new Orioles acquisitions Taylor Ward and Pete Alonso.
Chase DeLauter – OF, Cleveland Guardians (ADP: 290)
Staying healthy is Chase DeLauter’s biggest obstacle. Over three minor-league seasons, the Guardians’ prospect has yet to play in more than 60 games in each season. He has suffered a broken foot, hamstring issues, sports hernia surgery, and surgery to repair a hamate fracture as injuries that have derailed DeLauter’s early professional career.
Despite the limited appearances, the 24-year-old has shown flashes of success. Last season in Triple-A, he hit five home runs over 149 plate appearances, while hitting .278. DeLauter also shown amazing plate vision, drawing 0.96 walks per strikeout. He’s expected to break camp as the Opening Day center fielder for the Guardians, so if he can stay healthy, he may have a meaningful impact for the Guardians. Although he has already been scratched from a Spring Training game due to lower-body soreness.
Justin Crawford – OF, Philadelphia Phillies (ADP: 299)
If you’re a fantasy manager who likes to draft players who steal bases, then Justin Crawford is your guy. In each of the last three minor-league seasons, the 22-year-old has stolen more than 40 bases and hit over .300. He also possesses phenomenal contact skills, hitting .407 BABIP in 506 plate appearances in Triple-A last season.
Crawford will be hoping to break camp as the starting center fielder, and if he can do that, then he provides fantasy opportunities across all categories except home runs. He would bat in the nine hole, but this still allows him to produce for fantasy managers in a powerful Phillies lineup.
