The Rangers have had several top prospects threatening to break through, but injuries seem to keep derailing them. Do they have reinforcements on the way? In this article, we’ll profile the top 20 fantasy baseball prospects of the Texas Rangers.
About our rankings
These prospect rankings are strictly fantasy-focused. While they are performance-informed, our rankings also lean heavily on upside. A high-OBP slugger with game power and pedigree is going to rank higher than a speedy slap hitter with limited fantasy impact, even if the latter is closer to the majors. Likewise, you can usually grab a league-average pitcher from the waiver wire. Our rankings will value the pitchers with the upside to be No. 1 and 2 starters much more highly than command pitchers who look to be roster filler.
Texas Rangers Top 20 Fantasy Baseball Prospects
These Top 20 Texas Rangers Fantasy Baseball Prospect Rankings are largely based on our Top 500 Dynasty Rankings, along with our Top 600 Fantasy Baseball Prospects, with a little tweaking done to accommodate recent news. Updates for both of those lists are also in the works and will be coming in short order.

Sebastian Walcott (SS/3B) – MLB ETA: 2027
Age: 20 | Current Level: AA | Bats: R | Throws: R
Widely regarded as the game’s top overall prospect, Walcott is a 6’4″ shortstop with a rare blend of premium raw power, speed, and arm strength, drawing Fernando Tatis Jr. comparisons. He improved his strikeout rate significantly in 2025 (down to 15% over his final stretch) while maintaining huge exit velocities, but an elbow injury that required internal brace surgery has cost him most of the first half of 2026, limiting him to DH duty upon his return. The long-term superstar ceiling remains very much intact.
Winston Santos (RHP) – MLB ETA: 2026
Age: 23 | Current Level: AAA | Bats: R | Throws: R
Santos battled a stress-reaction back injury for much of 2025 but still reached Double-A and pitched in the Arizona Fall League. His arsenal features a fastball that has jumped into the 94-98 mph range, an improving slider, and a changeup that can miss bats, though his average size raises questions about how his fastball will play against upper-level lineups.
Caden Scarborough (RHP) – MLB ETA: 2027
Age: 20 | Current Level: A+ | Bats: R | Throws: R
Scarborough went from a virtual unknown to a Top 100 prospect after a breakout 2025 that saw him post a 2.45 ERA with a 33% strikeout rate across Low-A and High-A. The Rangers had him scrap his curveball for a low-80s slider that’s quickly become a true weapon, and he now profiles as a well-rounded, fast-rising mid-rotation starter candidate.
AJ Russell (RHP) – MLB ETA: 2028
Age: 21 | Current Level: A | Bats: R | Throws: R
A 2025 second-round pick out of Tennessee with a 13.4 K/9 in college, Russell has a mid-90s fastball with tail and carry, thrown from a low slot out of a massive 6’6″ frame. His secondaries- a slider and changeup- are still below average and represent his biggest developmental priorities, giving him real relief risk despite the obvious raw stuff.
Jose Corniell (RHP) – MLB ETA: 2026
Age: 22 | Current Level: MLB | Bats: R | Throws: R
Corniell, acquired from Seattle years ago in the Rafael Montero deal, returned from Tommy John surgery in 2025 throwing harder than ever — sitting 94-97 and touching 99 — and earned a September call-up to Texas. His sharp 11-5 breaking ball took a leap forward alongside the added velocity, and while questions remain about stamina over a full season, the stuff alone could justify a much higher prospect grade if it holds up over a longer workload.
Yolfran Castillo (SS/3B) – MLB ETA: 2029
Age: 19 | Current Level: A | Bats: R | Throws: R
Castillo is a speedy, athletic infielder who made his full-season debut in 2025, posting a strong on-base approach with 29 stolen bases. He lacks present power, which currently caps his fantasy ceiling, but his age, instincts, and ability to play both shortstop and third base give him a real shot to round into a everyday-caliber profile as he fills out.
Josh Owens (SS/RHP) – MLB ETA: 2029
Age: 19 | Current Level: A | Bats: L | Throws: R
A true two-way player and the Rangers’ 2025 third-round pick, Owens is being developed simultaneously as a shortstop and pitcher. His pro debut at the plate was a tiny, rough sample, but he flashed real arm talent on the mound with four scoreless innings and six strikeouts. He’s one of the more unique follows in the system, with a lefty-bat, speed-over-power profile if he sticks as a hitter.
David Davalillo (RHP) – MLB ETA: 2026
Age: 23 | Current Level: AA | Bats: R | Throws: R
A Venezuelan righty who was the Rangers’ 2025 Minor League Pitcher of the Year, Davalillo split time between High-A and Double-A and combined for a 2.44 ERA with 126 strikeouts over 107 innings. He opened 2026 in Double-A Frisco and is regarded as one of the system’s steadiest, most polished arms.
Elian Rosario (OF/3B) – MLB ETA: 2031
Age: 17 | Current Level: ROK | Bats: R | Throws: R
Rosario signed for $2.5 million in January 2026 as one of the system’s top international additions and will head to the Dominican Summer League this June. He’s a long-term project at this stage with exciting bat speed but virtually no game experience yet to evaluate.
Izack Tiger (RHP) – MLB ETA: 2027
Age: 24 | Current Level: A+ | Bats: R | Throws: R
Tiger opened 2026 with High-A Hub City but landed on the injured list rehabbing from internal brace surgery. He’s a depth arm in the system whose timeline has been pushed back by the procedure, with limited present prospect shine relative to the upper tier of Texas arms.
Cameron Cauley (SS/OF/2B) – MLB ETA: 2026
Age: 23 | Current Level: AAA | Bats: R | Throws: R
A versatile, late-blooming infielder, Cauley spent all of 2025 in Double-A Frisco and went unselected in the Rule 5 Draft despite eligibility, then opened 2026 in Triple-A Round Rock. His defensive flexibility across short, second, and the outfield, plus solid speed, gives him a realistic shot at a utility role in the majors relatively soon.
Dylan Dreiling (OF) – MLB ETA: 2027
Age: 22 | Current Level: AA | Bats: L | Throws: R
The 2024 College World Series Most Outstanding Player after homering in all three finals games for champion Tennessee, Dreiling has carried real raw power into pro ball but has battled a high strikeout rate that’s kept his assignment more conservative than his pedigree might suggest. He opened 2026 in Double-A Frisco, where his ability to bridge his patient eye with more consistent contact will determine his ultimate left-handed outfield ceiling.
Emiliano Teodo (RHP) – MLB ETA: 2026
Age: 25 | Current Level: AAA | Bats: R | Throws: R
Once one of the most electric arms in the system with a fastball that touched 103 mph, Teodo was converted to relief in 2025 and the results have been rocky, with significant control issues at the upper levels carrying into his 2026 stint at Triple-A Round Rock. The slider remains a true weapon when he can locate it, but throwing strikes is now the swing skill for his entire profile.
Leandro Lopez (RHP) – MLB ETA: 2026
Age: 23 | Current Level: AA | Bats: R | Throws: R
Lopez is a starter on the rise who posted a 2.40 ERA across 101.1 innings between High-A and Double-A in 2025, and the Rangers have been aggressive with his placement in 2026 at Double-A Frisco. He flashed well in spring Cactus League play, striking out 10 of 20 hitters faced, and profiles as a fast-moving rotation depth piece.
Josh Trentadue (LHP) – MLB ETA: 2027
Age: 24 | Current Level: AA | Bats: L | Throws: L
Trentadue is coming off a breakout 2025 season and opened 2026 with Double-A Frisco. He’s a steady but lower-profile depth piece in a deep Rangers pitching system, without the headline stuff of the names above him but with a real shot at a back-end or relief role.
Seong-Jun Kim (SS/RHP) – MLB ETA: 2030
Age: 18 | Current Level: ROK | Bats: R | Throws: R
Kim is an international two-way prospect who debuted in the Dominican Summer League in 2025 and struggled to make consistent contact (.167 average, 23% strikeout rate). He has some intrigue both on the mound and at the plate, but doesn’t yet stand out enough in either role to project a clear long-term path.
Elorky Rodriguez (OF/2B) – MLB ETA: 2030
Age: 18 | Current Level: ROK | Bats: R | Throws: R
Rodriguez impressed in his Dominican Summer League debut in 2025, posting a loud slash line with more walks than strikeouts and flashing speed and emerging pop. He’s far from the majors, but the early plate discipline numbers make him an easy deep-dynasty follow in a crowded system.
Jack Wheeler (3B) – MLB ETA: 2029
Age: 19 | Current Level: ROK | Bats: R | Throws: R
A 2025 sixth-round high school pick, Wheeler is a long-term boom-or-bust prospect whose calling card is raw, projectable power. The hit tool is the open question that will determine whether he becomes a real prospect or fades into organizational depth as he begins his first full pro look.
Paulino Santana (OF) – MLB ETA: 2029
Age: 19 | Current Level: A | Bats: R | Throws: R
Santana flashed his power-speed tools in his 2025 stateside debut but also showed real swing-and-miss issues, posting a strikeout rate near 30%. He opened 2026 at Single-A Hickory and remains a tools-over-performance bet whose fantasy relevance hinges on the hit tool catching up.
Dalton Pence (LHP) – MLB ETA: 2027
Age: 23 | Current Level: A+ | Bats: L | Throws: L
Pence is a later-round lefty who has flashed real bat-missing stuff at High-A Hub City in 2026, including a five-strikeout scoreless outing in spring action. He’s not a headline name in the system, but continued strikeout success against more advanced hitters could push him into a depth-starter or multi-inning relief track.
