Week 15 NFL Survivor Picks

We know this wasn’t going to be easy. Far from it in fact. Stress comes with the territory, and it’s only going to get worse in the last four weeks of the season. The good news though is that our survivor picks last week were a perfect 4-0, and that’s what counts. However, this is not the time to take a victory lap just yet. There were some concerning Week 14 results that did put that perfection in jeopardy. With a new week upon us, let’s keep the success going. With no more time to waste, let’s jump right into our Week 15 NFL Survivor Picks.

How Did We Do in Week 14?

In two of the four games though, there was some danger. While neither of those games should have gotten to that point, there’s one in particular that brought some unnecessary stress to our Sunday.

After losing a tough game in the snow a few weeks ago in Cleveland, the Steelers bounced back in Week 14. This time, Pittsburgh took care of business as they defeated the Browns in a divisional game. It continues to be a strong season for the Steelers as making the move to Russell Wilson at quarterback was ultimately the right decision. The outcome of the game was never truly in doubt as the better team won.

Tampa Bay continued the attempt to save their season as they took care of business last week. Facing the Raiders at home was expected to be an easy matchup, and the Buccaneers proved that to be the case.

Big things are expected out of the Eagles this season, and while they are delivering from a record standpoint, they aren’t exactly dominating their opponents. We know that the Carolina Panthers aren’t going anywhere this season, and Bryce Young was already benched once. With this matchup taking place in Philadelphia, the outcome of the game never should have been in doubt. Instead, there was some drama surrounding the Eagles’ offense, and this required a sweat that shouldn’t have been needed.

We know that divisional matchups are always going to be difficult, but sometimes you don’t have the luxury of being that selective. It’s essentially impossible to find anything good to say about the Jets this season, but into the fourth quarter, they almost pulled out the victory in Miami. Ultimately, the game went to overtime, and New York delivered by blowing the game.

Week 15 NFL Survivor Picks

The good news is that bye weeks are over. Of course, that doesn’t mean our selections have gotten much easier, but at least we have a full slate of games to work with.

Each week, we’ll continue to pick four games to target. Based on the available options, all games are truly on the table. Some are clearly more desirable, but there is no big favorite that I’m looking to fade. They will be ranked in order of our preference along with the lines that we hope to see building off each other each week. Let’s jump right into those survivor picks. Things are also becoming more difficult as some of our options have already been utilized. That means our first choice might not be necessarily available.

Baltimore Ravens at New York Giants – Ravens -16

The only reason why Baltimore isn’t higher is because this isn’t the first time they have been one of our survivor picks this season. To say that the Giants defense has been decimated by injury might be an understatement, and now they have to deal with Lamar Jackson. Things aren’t going to get any easier for a team with just two interceptions on the season. Overall though, the Giants have held their own defensively allowing 22.5 points per game.

But are we really going to bet on Tommy DeVito over Jackson? With Drew Lock injured, the Giants are turning back to DeVito under center. Considering that, overall, the Giants are last in the league with just 14.9 points per game, it’s not like they are dealing from a position of strength. Baltimore is first with 432 yards per game and third in points with 29.5. That’s just too much firepower for New York to handle and keep up with.

Washington Commanders at New Orleans Saints – Commanders – 7.5

This is a tough one as we know that the Saints are going to put up a fight. The fact that the game is in New Orleans only helps their cause, but Washington is the better team. After a rough patch, including a disastrous loss at home to Dallas, Washington bounced back with a victory last week. The Saints are also coming off a win, but it’s nothing to be proud of. Only a blocked field goal kept the Giants from sending the game to overtime as the game never should have been that close.

Jayden Daniels is recovered from his rib injury as he leads the league’s fourth-best scoring offense. Washington is averaging 28.9 points per game and the Saints are going to struggle keeping up with him. With Derek Carr sidelined, the Saints have to turn to Spencer Rattler. In previous work this season, Rattler has not looked good. He won’t have Chris Olave to throw to and Marquez Valdes-Scantling as your best receiver isn’t a recipe for success.

Arizona Cardinals vs. New England Patriots – Cardinals -6

While the Patriots have held their own this season, despite a 3-10 record, they are simply not very talented. Drake Maye has just 11 touchdowns on the season, along with eight interceptions, and the Patriots are 31st in the league with just 17 points per game.

It also feels strange targeting a team on a three-game losing streak, but that also applies to both teams. Someone has to win, and the Cardinals are the better team. Arizona has the league’s 12th best scoring defense, and they will make things tough for Maye. While Kyler Murray hasn’t truly lit up the scoreboard, he is the better quarterback and the Patriots aren’t expected to offer too much resistance.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears – Vikings -7

Here we go again with a divisional matchup for our number one recommendation. The good news is that the Vikings are at home, as that does play a factor. Justin Jefferson is coming off a strong game as the Vikings pushed their winning streak to six games last week. If they want to keep up with the Lions though, Minnesota has to keep on going. The Bears on the other hand are in the midst of a seven-game losing streak. Eventually, both streaks have to end, but that doesn’t have to happen this week.

When these teams faced each other a few weeks ago in Chicago, it was a tight game with the Vikings winning by a field goal. I’d expect that Brian Flores and the Minnesota defense will make things more difficult for rookie Caleb Williams this time. Minnesota is allowing the second-fewest points per game, 18.5, while completely taking away the opposition’s running game. Sam Darnold will likely have to outscore Williams on Monday, but he should be up to the task.
