We’re 25 days from Opening Day, and the 2026 Dynasty Baseball Prospects: Daily Write-Up series turns to a rising arm with serious helium. Ranked #74 is Gage Jump, a left-hander whose combination of strikeout stuff and improving command has pushed him firmly onto the dynasty radar. After working his way back to full strength, Jump’s fastball-slider mix has missed bats at a high clip, giving him legitimate mid-rotation upside with more if everything clicks.
Daily Baseball Write-Up Series #74 Gage Jump
Oakland quietly stockpiled some interesting arms, and Gage Jump is the one who keeps forcing his way into the conversation. Across High-A and Double-A at age 22, he stacked quality starts, missed bats, and kept the ball in the yard, the kind of year that nudges a guy from “interesting” to firmly inside the Top 100. With an ETA of 2026 and the numbers to match, Jump looks like the rare A-ball fast riser who brings both stuff and polish.
Jump’s year checks the boxes you want for a legit rotation piece. Over 112.2 innings, he ran a 3.28 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with 131 strikeouts, and the underlying indicators were even better. His 2.96 FIP and 3.16 xFIP backed the performance, and his swinging-strike rate sat at a healthy 13.0%. The strikeout punch is real (10.46 K/9) and it’s paired with control that’s already ahead of the curve for his age (2.72 BB/9; 4.0 K/BB). Against league context, he was roughly two runs better by ERA and FIP and shaved more than half a baserunner off WHIP. That combination, bat-missing plus strike-throwing, is a sustainable SP foundation.

Scouting-wise, it plays like a modern lefty starter: a lively fastball that misses above the barrel, a top-to-bottom breaking ball that steals both called strikes and chases, and a changeup that keeps righties honest. You don’t need a radar gun to see the sequencing and shape work; his profile typically grades well in Stuff+ frameworks because the fastball/curveball pairing gives him multiple whiff avenues. He also limits damage. A 0.56 HR/9 and 41.8% ground-ball rate indicate he’s not living in the danger zone, and that’s reflected in the tidy WHIP. If you’re hunting for a developmental trend, it’s the polish: he carried his approach across two levels and didn’t have to sell out for whiffs to get them.
There are the expected small caution flags. A 24.9% line-drive rate suggests his HR suppression could tick up if the command loosens or if he’s forced into the zone more often against upper-minors bats. And while a 13% SwStr% is very good, it’s not the “top-of-the-rotation” bat-misser by itself. All of that still adds up to a mid-rotation trajectory, which, when paired with legitimate strike throwing and three playable pitches, is exactly what fantasy managers should be targeting before the helium sets in. The workload is trending the right way at 112.2 innings; a step toward 130-plus would put him right on schedule for a 2026 debut.
Fantasy Outlook
Jump fits the mold of a high-floor Dynasty target who can grow into an SP3 with strikeout juice. The K/BB foundation (10.46 K/9, 2.72 BB/9) and home-run suppression (0.56 HR/9) make him especially appealing in 5×5 Roto where WHIP and ERA stability play up, and he’s sneaky valuable in Points formats thanks to the walk avoidance. He’s already sitting mid-pack on Top 100 lists (No. 74 here) and feels like a candidate to climb another tier if the whiffs hold as he logs more Double-A time. In shallow redraft you can wait, but in Dynasty he’s a buy now before the proximity premium hits; think 2026 impact with SP3 upside and the kind of K/BB profile that keeps you out of weekly landmines.
Gage Jump posted a 2.96 FIP over 112.2 IP w/ a 28.4% K%, & held opponents to a .213 AVG.
He does an excellent job hiding the ball w/ real deception in his delivery. The 4-Seamer jumps out of his hand, plays extremely well at the top of the zone, & he showed gains in his command. pic.twitter.com/JBOjpHiUpL
