Tier 1 & 2 – The Fantasy EPL Elite
Kevin De Bruyne is in a class of his own. Literally. The Manchester City midfielder is the sole member of Tier 1, due to the fact that he was the highest-scoring Fantrax player last season by 175 points! De Bruyne should be the first player off the draft board in all leagues this summer. Fact. Next up in our ‘elite’ category is Manchester United man Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese midfielder gained an incredible 18.29 points per game during his 14 games for The Red Devils last season. This was mainly down to his eight goals and eight assists, but Fernandes also scores relativity well across the attacking scoring categories. A Top 5 player this season.
Tier 3 – Potential Stars
Now into Tier 3 and some potential stars of Fantasy EPL this season. Any of the players in this section of our Midfielders Draft Rankings could potentially end the season within the Top 10 scoring players. All of them have that potential. Christian Pulisic is ranked in 3rd place after a really strong end to the season. The American winger looks set for an extremely good second season in the EPL! Next up is James Maddison and Jack Grealish. The two English attacking midfielders performed very well last season, ending the campaign with a points per game average of over 12. Next up is newly reclassified midfielder Allan Saint-Maximin, who we are big big fans of. And another player we’re really keen on is Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse. Michael Antonio is ranked as the 8th best midfielder, after an exceptional end to last season. His fitness is always a concern. And rounding out Tier 3 is new Chelsea signing Hakim Ziyech. He’s a bit lower than expected due to being new to the Premier League, and there being lots of competition for places in the Chelsea midfield.
Tier 4 – Great Assets
Starting off Tier 4 are some really strong assets from our Midfielders Draft Rankings! We’re huge fans of Jarrod Bowen after the January signing performed incredibly consistently during his 13 games for West Ham. Next up is Burnley’s Dwight McNeil, and Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha. Manchester United man Paul Pogba is up next, closely followed by James Rodriguez of Everton. Phil Foden is ranked in 15th place, and we’re really unsure as to where to place him this season. He performed really well during the Premier League restart, but his minutes are nowhere near guaranteed, despite David Silva’s departure. Next up is West Brom midfielder Matheus Pereira, followed by Tomas Soucek. Nathan Redmond and Bernardo Silva complete Tier 4.
Tier 5 – Points Potential
The Tier 5 midfielders contain some of the potential breakout players of these Draft Rankings. We would happily draft any of these chaps in rounds 5 to 7. Our particular favorites from this group are Stuart Armstrong and Giovanni Lo Celso. These two midfielders are ranked 21st and 22nd after some reason strong form to end last season. New Crystal Palace man Eberechi Eze is ranked 24th, and Dani Ceballos comes in at 27th. Ranking Leicester’s Harvey Barnes at 26th is one that we could regret, but the youngster is just so inconsistent with his Fantrax output.
Tier 6 – Consistent Scorers
Next up in our Midfielders Draft Rankings we’ve got some steady scoring players, as well as a few players to take a punt on towards the end of the draft. From the consistent scorers category, our personal favorites are Declan Rice (30th), Ashley Westwood (32nd), Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (33rd), and Yves Bissouma (41st). These players are pretty solid Fantrax assets and are likely to be a really decent option as the 4th or 5th midfielder in your roster. On more of the punts side of things, Leandro Trossard, Lucas Moura, and Bukayo Saka feature in this tier. We’re pretty keen on Daniel Podence and Jack Harrison from this group too. Podence performed really well for Wolves during the Premier League restart and has a good chance of establishing himself in the starting eleven if teammate Jota continues to under-perform. Harrison is a player that we would happily take a chance on towards the end of the draft. The young Leeds winger has impressed during his two-year loan spell in Yorkshire so far.
Tier 7 – The Streamables
We’re now getting down to the types of players that you will likely be streaming throughout the season. A few of our favorites here to mention are Grady Diangana, Adam Lallana, and Alexis Mac Allister. Diangana looks set to rejoin West Brom, and could be a really strong asset to pick up towards the end of the draft. Brighton paid Lallana and Mac Allister could see increased game time now that Aaron Mooy has departed.
Tier 8 – The Punts
Tier 8 continues with the streaming theme, but there are some players here that we would recommend taking a punt on in your draft. Kalvin Phillips is ranked in 59th and could turn into a really steady scoring midfield option. Neeskens Kebano is a player we would take a punt on towards the end of the draft – if he can nail down a starting spot, he will be a decent addition to your Fantrax roster. And sticking with that theme, players like Moussa Djenepo, Anthony Knockaert, and Trezeguet are worth drafting at the end of the draft and hoping they see first-team football.

How old is your data and what are the metrics? TBH, not sure you guys know too much about EPL. Antonio is a forward this season, you are missing Salah and Mane, and Aubameyang from your 100. Come on guys.
Hi Luke. Our data is fully up to date, and the metric is the Fantrax scoring system which rewards key passes, successful dribbles, accurate crosses, tackles, interceptions, plus many many more. Not just goals, assists and clean sheets. The article is posted on Fantrax HQ, which is a website that provides advice for users of Draft Premier League on the Fantrax portal. Antonio is a midfielder on Fantrax. Salah, Mane and Auba are forwards on Fantrax. Please let us know if you would like to know more about Fantrax – its an infinitely better experience than anything FPL or FPL Draft related.
